POLITICS THREAD!!!!!!
This is a place for us to state, debate and discuss politics! I encourage everyone to do so rationally and maturely, and would ask that all participants would refrain from abuse, even when in the heat of an argument, and that some of the more mature subjects would not be presented here. The Admins wll not publish any inappropriate comments.
However, I would discourage anyone from participating if they are easily offended, or dislike having their views challenged.
This may not be a popular idea, but I wanted to give people a chance to present their views and discuss the larger issues in our world today. I hope that this idea takes, and that it will also be enjoyable and informative! :)
I will begin by introducing a topic that is curently at large in America, but is also, I believe, appropriate for CB. I would ask the Admins to correct me if I am mistaken. :)
So-- what do you all think about the idea of including women in the military draft?
This thread is now closed for new comments.

@Mei-xue
I like to believe that there are some people out there on the CB who believe in God and hope, and peace, and love. I try to make comments about kindness and the joy and love of Jesus Christ. And you know what? You may not agree with me, but there are some people out here who believe in God and his forever, never-changing, always and forever, everlasting love. And they like to hear my little motivational speeches (which everyone, by the way, thank you so much for your supportive comments! I love that you believe in God, and I will try to keep motivating you.) And you know what? I'm 12. I believe in God. And I want to be a theologian (look it up) when I grow up. So, if you want to contradict me, that's fine. All I want you to know, Mei-xue, is...that you are in my prayers.

Why am I in your prayers?

Perfectly said, Cho.

How do you think Malala found the courage to stand up? She may have been a Muslim, but that doesn't matter. Because no matter what religion they are, or who they are, or how they act, I think God can use all of us to make this planet better.
I think He used Malala.
Did you not just read my entire post? I said that we choose what we do to make this world better. But God is using us to make the world better. He is moving, and working through us.
And you know what, if you sit back, you're right, nothing will happen. But if you choose to go where God leads, the world will be better.
So let's get this straight: I am not just sitting here saying the "someone else will take care of it." No. God is using me to make a difference in this world.
And I pray, Mei-xue, that he uses you too.
We make our own decisions! But God is the one who influences these decisions, and chooses to help guide us!
So, I'm not sure that you are right, Mei-xue. I think God is in control of all of it. God is the one guiding your teachers, your sister, your friend, even your enemies.

I prefer to think that Malala acted of her own accord and that she wasn't "used"...

Bravo, Mei!
That was beautifully put! I agree with you. The world isn't going to change itself. Someone has to do something to change it. It could be small, or big, but it'll still make a difference. You won't change anything by just wishing. You have to do something.

Probably nobody's going to read this because it's not on the newest page, but this post reminded me of a Christian song... I don't quite know who it's by.... Wait, let me Google it... Okay, it's by Mathew West. It goes like this, from what I can remember.
*something about people starving and other horrible things in the world*
so I shake my fist at heaven and say, "God why don't you do something?!"
he said, "I did; I created you."
I dunno, I felt like that fit with Mei's comment.
Awwwww, Bubbles said mexu! I think he was trying to say Mei-Xue!

@Savvy
I love Matthew West! And "Do Something" (the song that line is from) is AWESOME!

To answer your question on the So…I just thread, the debt is not related to bullying, but that is a problem with money. Money is not as important as people dying! The terrorist attacks are important, and frankly, I would rather have America in debt than see people suffer.
(May 18, 2016 - 3:12 pm)
Well, to be fair, people will suffer from debt. Also, how are terrorist attacks related to bullying either? And I personally feel that whoever feels that Muslims are being discriminated for their culture need to learn that the Muslim's culture also discriminates other cultures.
All cultures have discriminated against other cultures or small groups of people. We cannot post statements that attribute a hurtful sterotype to an entire group of people. ~Admin

So when a little Muslim kid goes to school, he may be bullied because he looks different. He may then shy away from white people and instead only hang with people who look like him, Muslims. However, one of those people may be on the side of ISIS, Al-Qeada, or something of the sort. This person might influence the lonely little kid to grow up, explode a building, and kill the people that once teased him. The end.

Terrorists that exist today didn't go to schools where there were only mean white people. They went to religious Islam schools where they were taught that "Jews are apes and pigs" and that they have the right to kill. It's not a race or gender, it's a culture. And other cultures have a RIGHT to dislike OTHER CULTURES because they find their beliefs offensive. You can even think of patriochy as a culture and yet feminists talk of them as mean people and can't see the danger that most Muslims pose. Muslims taught the bad laws and traditins of Islam are bad. Nothing that you say can change that. And you talk of white people as though they are all racist, sexist, republicans who hate other religions and hate all immigrants. And you're wrong! Please let my voice be heard.

Excuse me, what?!?! I am a Muslim and I went to a private Islamic school for three years and never, ever were we taught this stuff that you speak about. We were taught to respect other religions and cultures, and to never resort to violence to gain our ends. Al Qaida and all those other terrorist groups, are not Muslim. Likely as not they have never even opened the Quran, or actually prayed in their whole lives. All they want is power, and they gain it by killing innocent people and doing other things that are completely against Islam. Are you agreeing with Donald Trump? You agree that all Muslims should be deported out of America? That Muslims should be stopped from entering? Before you pass judgements on any culture you should research their morals to see if what you are saying is actually correct. Thank you.
