I've been reading through this thread...I think it's more trouble than it's worth. I think we should all start leaving it alone and let it sink into the depths of the CB.

However, I don't think it's something the Admins should shut down, necessarily. I mean, this is a politics thread, and...I don't think it would be right to halt this thread, like the crushes thread was halted...(honestly Admin, you were right, that thread was getting too...not appropriate for younger CBers. we have to remember, older CBers, even if we stay with the CB as we get older, there are still new and young Cbers coming on.)...isn't talking about the world around us what DtE is for? And yet...

CBers, I think this is something we have to do ourselves. Make a choice if we really want to endanger friendship because of different political views? More than religion, more than race, sometimes I feel like political views is the thing that most separates people my age (at least at my school). Why, there was even a study that showed people are more opposed to marrying someone of a different political party than of a different religion.

I'm not saying it's bad to talk about politics, or that we should be forbiddden on sharing our opinions on the election. I just think that this particular thread is going too far. I mean, it has been a pretty intense election, and still is. But we're getting too intense as well. Even if you post under an anonymous name, your comments may make someone angry or hurt. 

Or we have a different option. Maybe we don't have to let this thread die.

Instead of talking about the election, and trying to make someone change their beliefs, which is never going to happen, no matter how much logic you believe you present, because that is their belief, let's talk about other "politics." Remember how we started out discussing if women should be included in a draft? There are other topics, too, like world problems and global warming, or even politics of another country, for example, the Zika+presidential impeachment+poverty+still corrupt government+Olympics crisis of Brazil. Or something. Just not the US Presidential election because that is stirring too much hate. And other things that still fall into the category of "politics."

Let's try that. Bring up a topic, and we can talk about it.

Or we can continue to bicker- because like I said, this is no longer really debating, because you're not going to change someone's mind on who they would vote for.

If that keeps happening, maybe someone should make a new thread.
