This is a place for us to state, debate and discuss politics! I encourage everyone to do so rationally and maturely, and would ask that all participants would refrain from abuse, even when in the heat of an argument, and that some of the more mature subjects would not be presented here. The Admins wll not publish any inappropriate comments.
However, I would discourage anyone from participating if they are easily offended, or dislike having their views challenged.
This may not be a popular idea, but I wanted to give people a chance to present their views and discuss the larger issues in our world today. I hope that this idea takes, and that it will also be enjoyable and informative! :)
I will begin by introducing a topic that is curently at large in America, but is also, I believe, appropriate for CB. I would ask the Admins to correct me if I am mistaken. :)
So-- what do you all think about the idea of including women in the military draft?

I'm sorry but I didn't think it would be as bad as what I read. Once I got started, I couldn' stop reading it. Is it my fault for trying to stop people from fighting or insulting each other though? I do hope this thread dies because it isn't a welcome addition to DTE.

In her "I'm not leaving but I'm tempted to" thread, she specifically wrote: "Mei hates me."
She was saying what she thought about herself. She did not say "I hate Mei."

The reason why I said that ("Mei hates me") is because you have said several things which have made me think that you might hate/dislike me. I was mad at you yesterday, partly because my real life is slightly chaotic at the moment, and because you were making Elvina feel bad about herself.

Do you agree that stopping cancer in its earlier stages is much easier than trying to cure it later? Do you agree that diagnosing a kid as autistic when he/she is still a baby is easier than trying to get them to talk at age ten? Do you agree that pulling up two weeds in your garden is easier than letting them spread, and eventually having twenty in your yard?
If so, wouldn't the same theory work with crime? Stopping bullies in childhood is much easier than hunting down criminals when they become adults, don't you think? I know, most bullies don't become criminals, but the ones that do become criminals may steal and rob and kill…

Whoever brought this thread up when it was successfully bottomed and out of the way, I wish you would stop. I think we don't need this thread. Please, stop posting on it. I don't think anyone (except maybe you) wants to keep on arguing in a circle over the same thing over and over again. Thank you for understanding.

Mei, we know you're there. Personally, I like you more as a CBer when you aren't arguing. You don't need to argue and fight about something to show your presence. We know you exist. We like you. I just don't like the way you keep on arguing about the same thing. We heard you the first time, and we get it. Please, try to contribute in a different way. Thank you.
