POLITICS THREAD!!!!!!

POLITICS THREAD!!!!!!

This is a place for us to state, debate and discuss politics!  I encourage everyone to do so rationally and maturely, and would ask that all participants would refrain from abuse, even when in the heat of an argument, and that some of the more mature subjects would not be presented here. The Admins wll not publish any inappropriate comments.

However, I would discourage anyone from participating if they are easily offended, or dislike having their views challenged.

This may not be a popular idea, but I wanted to give people a chance to present their views and discuss the larger issues in our world today. I hope that this idea takes, and that it will also be enjoyable and informative! :)

I will begin by introducing a topic that is curently at large in America, but is also, I believe, appropriate for CB. I would ask the Admins to correct me if I am mistaken. :)

So-- what do you all think about the idea of including women in the military draft?

This thread is now closed for new comments.

I definitely have. But not now. And if your defense to me saying that you're using stereotypes to define a culture is that I must have done it before, then you don't know what else to say. If you can justify that every single Hispanic is hard-working, and every single white American is NOT, then I will be happy to believe you.

Just to clear up any misunderstandments about me, I am NOT against Muslims, I do NOT approve of bullying, I am NOT against donating, And I am NOT against any other people's beliefs. I am just stating what I believe to be the cold hard truth. If you disagree, that's fine and if you're sick of my opinion, then you can leave this thread and enjoy the many other threads in Cricket. And also, I should tell you all, I'm going to spend a little less time on CB because it's almost summer and exams are coming and also because I've made some friends in real life at last and can see them and hang out and stuff! Happy arguing! And if I'm too busy to post, I'll tell my brother to come here too. He's republican and libertarian!

If you are NOT against this or that, then are you against anything? And what is the cold, hard truth?

Yes, I AM against some things.

I am against immigrants who come to America by sneaking in with no identification and nobody knows who they are. They could be  theives, or murderers. They COULD be good people, but it's much safer for good people to come here LEGALLY, which means that they are checked and officially become citizens so that the good immigrants (the ones who work hard and are good people) can come in. It's not fair that ILLEGAL immigrants just come here straight away breaking rules while the immigrants who come here LEGALLY and actually follow the law wait to get approval to come, live, and work in America and officailly become citizens. And LEGAL immigrants can come and have normal jobs and lives and the government KNOWS FOR SURE that they aren't dangerous. If we make sure that criminals stay out and good people can come in, then America will improve. Republicans just want to make sure that foreign criminals stay away and foreign good people can come in. Coming in legally isn't something that exists only for rich people. Anyone can do it, although it will take some time. And law is law, so you're going to have to wait before you can come into America. If you have nothing to hide from America, then there is no harm in being LEGAL instead of ILLEGAL.

I'm going to post other things I'm against later, and tell you all what the cold hard truth is too. But I really hope you've given thought and fully considered what I've just posted and try to understand.

That makes sense, but just to let you know, in the 1900s, the government passed a law that no Chinese people whatsoever could come in as immigrants, unless they were related to Chinese people already in America. Also, a lot of people are against legal immigrants, too. Look up what happened to Vincent Chin.

Pearl, congratulations on your new-found friends! There's a girl moving in next door who'd my age —hopefully I'll have a story similar to yours to tell soon.

Do you agree that stopping cancer in its earlier stages is much easier than trying to cure it later? Do you agree that diagnosing a kid as autistic when he/she is still a baby is easier than trying to get them to talk at age ten? Do you agree that pulling up two weeds in your garden is easier rain letting them spread, and eventually having twenty in your yard?

If so, wouldn't the same theory work with crime? Stopping bullies in childhood is much easier than hunting down criminals when they become adults, don't you think?

ok guys, please please just stop. I read all 22 pages this afternoon. Now I feel like crying, kicking a wall, letting a bag full of angry cats of Trump and Clinton and a bunch of other thing. So please stop now. This thread is getting very dangrerous and some posts are getting mean and rude. People are getting hurt and offended. So please let's just let this go, and let this thread sink to the bottem.
