This is a place for us to state, debate and discuss politics! I encourage everyone to do so rationally and maturely, and would ask that all participants would refrain from abuse, even when in the heat of an argument, and that some of the more mature subjects would not be presented here. The Admins wll not publish any inappropriate comments.
However, I would discourage anyone from participating if they are easily offended, or dislike having their views challenged.
This may not be a popular idea, but I wanted to give people a chance to present their views and discuss the larger issues in our world today. I hope that this idea takes, and that it will also be enjoyable and informative! :)
I will begin by introducing a topic that is curently at large in America, but is also, I believe, appropriate for CB. I would ask the Admins to correct me if I am mistaken. :)
So-- what do you all think about the idea of including women in the military draft?

Can I just say something? I don't want to get involved in this at all, but...
Most people have probably heard of the poem The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus, or the line "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breath free...". It's on the Statue of Liberty. To me, that is what America should be. None of us are "real" Americans anyway, except for the Native Americans. We are all people. So, you cannot judge or discriminate a person by what they look like or where they came from. That's all I have to say. Bye.

Mei-xue, is your mom a legal immigrant or an illegal immigrant? There is a difference. Since she has a job, a kid, and isn't coming through the mexican border, there is a very good chance that she is a LEGAL immigrant. If she came here legally, then Trump has nothing against her. If she came here illegally, then Trump DOES have something against her.
I'm pretty sure she came here legally (she can't have crossed the border). NOBODY has threatened her rights because she was not born in America. If fact, it's exactly the opposite. If you are familiar with Asian stereotypes, you'll know that one of the MOST POPUPLAR is actually "all asians are smart." In fact, maybe your mom's boss didn't give your mom the job cecause he/she did't want her to think that her boss was racist and thought that all asians were smarter.

I know about that line, but as you probably also know, that policy failed and the immigrants weren't happy. America shouldn't be viewed as a perfect paradise where you can have a better life. In fact, many Americans are suffering. By the term "real American" I mean someone who has officially earned citizenship or was born in America. There are immigrants who have come here with permission and are following the law.

Mei, you keep implying that you think Asians are better than other people (at least the way I see it) when you say a lot of things. I won't list as many as I can think of, because that's rude, and it will probably hurt your feelings really bad.

Not to offend you or something, but this isn't actually helping. You're supposed to argue in debates. And that doesn't neccesarily mean that friendships are being ruined. And I'm not racist. My parents weren't born in America either. I am of French and Brazilian descent. Uggh, I HATE Frozen. It's sexist. Against men. No beating around the bush, but can you just please tell me why boys aren't allowed to hit girls, yet Anna is allowed to punch Hans in the face?! I get that she was almost murdered by her fiancee, but she's just so dumb that I kinda feel that she deserved it. And it was only because she didn't listen to her big sister. Also, there are no good male characters. I'm going to post a thread later about Frozen rants.
Also, Admin, I've noticed that some of my posts don't appear on the thread. What's going on? I'm sure that there was nothing wrong with what I posted this morning.
