Ok, this is a lot like the movie game where you say a line and guess
which movie it's from, exept this time it's a line from a book that you
have to guess. 'Cause it might be a little harder to guess just one
sentence from a book, you're allowed up to one paragraph (as long as
it isn't too terribly long), and it can be a paragraph from any part of the
book. Okay, I'll start:

Buzzing, Annoying
Bringing me out
Of my trance
Bringing me back
To Reality
The phone is ringing
A ringtone, loud
Making me get up

Even though I've been writing - poems, mostly - for three or four years, I've never really tried to get my poems or stories published. I've decided that it's high time I started trying to get out there, but I don't know much about what magazines, contests, or publishers I should try. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks!

All right, guys! Last time I checked, we've got me, Megan, Kipin, Reuben, and Starfire left. Anyone else, old or new, is welcome to join. Allison and Lena have officially left. *tender moment* Dozens and dozens have sort of deserted, such as TNO (umlaut... please...), Horse Rider, Jane, Kit Kat, and a billion gazillion others. Sad, sad, sad.
