Music Club
So for my CBversary a few people said they wanted to do this. I am working on a Little Lost Library revival but that will probably take a while. In the meantime, here's the music club!
This is for anyone who loves music and wants to discover new artists. To join, just comment saying you want to join. Next Friday, we'll start rotating, starting with me and then in order of who commented. Anyone can join the rotation at any time! If you comment saying you want to join, you'll be added to the end of the rotation.
The way it will work is each week, the next person in the rotation picks an album to reccomend, and everyone listens to it. Once you've listened to the album, say a little about what you thought of it! Doesn't have to be too much, just something like, "I enjoyed it" or "It wasn't really for me" and maybe something like "___ was my favorite song" or whatever.
I think that's it! We'll start on the 26th :D

okay wow. i really wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but i think "no children" was when i really understood what the album was, and then i was able to go back and actually appreciate the songs that came before it. it was kind of unexpected, but i really like it!
i feel like the whole album but especially the first song had a specific vibe? can't really put a finger on it exactly, but kind of melancholic and nostalgic summer nights? yeah. this is my second or third listen of it, i think, and i really noticed the guitar. pretty cool. the first song establishes the whole mood of the album pretty effectively, i think.
i loved all the lyrics!! they were kind of unexpected, intense, and rather...blunt, ig? but that's what i liked about it. they built up the atmosphere really well. it was also really cool how it was a cohesive story. a *bit* dark. but really cool.
my favorite songs were probably "idylls of the king," "no children," "peacocks," and "oceanographer's choice," but they were all pretty good.
so yes :D i really liked it! i'll definitely listen to this album again sometime :D

Okay, I'm going to choose Cool Dry Place by Katy Kirby. It's kind of pop-rock, indie-rock at times. I discovered it last summer and really like it. Just one warning: the songs WILL get stuck in your head!! (Also so sorry for not responding to everyone else's music lately I've had a really busy week.) Anyway, enjoy!

Cool Dry Place was a very nice album. Thanks for the recommendation! My favorite song from the album is perhaps Secret Language or Cool Dry Place.
