Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Triwizard Tournament RP!
I know there's...

I know there's already another HPRP going on, but this idea has been spinning around in my head for a while, and it's time to put it into action.

So this is somewhere between the time the Tournament started and the time 'the death toll mounted so high that they canceled it'. We're going to need to do a lot of inventing, since I don't think Rowling gives that much information on it. Time to get out the old copy of The Lexicon and try to look up anything related to it.

But anyway, this is before you had to be of age to enter, so you can be any age. Hogwarts is the host school since we know the most about it.

A downside is that we can only have three champions, but we can be friends, supporters, etc. We'll decide which school wins later.

I love the dragon idea!

I can't wait until the ball, it'll be a whole lot of fun with the Beauzbaton students :)

Yeah, definitely dragons!

All right... So third task is dragons.

Second task is underwater. Hmmm. Okay, then it would have to involve the lake. Hmmm.

Think. Think. Think.

 I was thinking of golden apples... By the way, I guess Spara will have to change hers to an apple too, unless one of  you decides to make yours an orange, because it makes no sense for Spara to have a pear while both Colette and Erica have an apple. Hmmm... Think, think, think.

 We could aways rip off the one in the book.

 Or have to steal a golden apple from the meropeople.

 Or steal something else from the meropeople.

 Or go into the lake and show up with a live gryndylow.

 Or battle the giant squid.

 Or escape the giant squid.

 Or steal a golden apple and the person we will most miss from the giant squid while battling gryndylows and merpeople, then escape from the giant squid while battling it!  X3

I will change mine to an um... orange (or maybe grapefruit? Oh wait, they look exactly the same.) I guess. I like all the ideas. Whichever you guys think is best.

If we're doing the giant squid, I came up with a riddle... Sorry, it's a little obvious.

I live where you don't go, so far yet so near,

Though all creatures avoid me, there is no one I fear.

You must go under, and travel quite deep,

To snatch from my tentacles the objects I keep.

Ooh, and I've just had an idea for a variation if it's taken the people we'll miss:

I live where you don't go, so far yet so near,

By some known as simply a monster of lore,

 And I've snatched from your hands what you hold most dear

 So now you must face me to see it once more.

I love your ideas, Tiffany, especially the last one but I have a slight variation. Tell me what you think.

Variation:

We have to steal the apple from the giant squid to get into his lair where he's keeping our dear ones. The apple is the key to his lair. Gryndylows and merpeople are guarding the lair so we have to battle them to get to our dear ones and escape from the giant squid while battling it.

That. Is. Genius. I love it.

 I actually meant the last one as more of a joke... Oh well!

 So, by the way, are you okay with a score of seven, of not, I'll do eight.... Keep in mind that whoever gets the lowest score here gets the highest for the second task.

And I get an idea for a riddle!!!

I live where you don't go, so far yet so near

By some known as simply a monster of lore

I've snatched from your hands that which you hold most dear

And now you must face me to see it once more

You must go under, and toward my lair,

Taking the thing that guides you through this

Facing the challenges, battle through there,

And there you will find the thing you will most miss.

@Tiffany W.- Yeah, that's fine. Colette really wasn't good. Are you sure that I should be first? Maybe Spara should be first and I'll be second...

I just want to let you know that I'm not going to have internet for a few days so I won't be able to post. :/ I'll be back ASAP. Keep posting! :D

This reminds me, I actually meant Spara to be from Russia or Ukraine or something, not Bulgaria... But never mind that. Whatever.

~~~
Elizabeth M, I think Colette should be first for things to be fair. Let's say that one point is given for every third place, two points for every second place, and three points for every first place. Now...
Erica- first place in first task, last place in second task, equals four points.
 Spara- second place in both, equals four points.
 Colette: last place in first task, first in second, also equals four points.
 On the other hand, the first task is much easier than the last, so.... Mabye Spara should get last place, or she and Erica tie in second. Or whatever. I honestly don't care about the scoring itself that much, especially since nobody actually wins the tournament in the end. Grrr. This is confusing. Someone else can decide, I'm taking too much charge of this... Gah.
~~
 First task- taming a hippogriff
 Second task- getting a golden fruit from the giant squid, then using it as a key to open a cave where their loved ones are being guarded by grindylows and merpeople. This will probably, to build up, leave them with even more injuries than the first task. We need to decide on the hostages, by the way... Spara's is Evan, whether she likes him or not (probably not)... She's an only child and very independent, so yeah.
Third task: going into underground tunnells to find the Triwizard Cup inside, which is being guarded by a dragon. This one goes wrong. Very wrong.
~~~

 Half of me wants to kill off Spara and write the rest of the story from Evan's point of view...but half of me is screaming that she's one of my favorite characters and the only fan character of mine whom I am interested in at all, etc... That reminds me, I still haven't tested her for Suefulness. Going to do that now.  Bear in mind, Spara, your results will have a heavy impact on whether you live or die.

Okay. That sounds good.

I am definitly going to kill Erica to make everyone at Hogwarts feel bad for being jerks, yada yada yada...

And I think the loved one of Erica will be.... (drumroll) her mother. Sound good?

According to Springhole, Spara is most definitely not a Mary Sue. But anyway, time to post. I've procrastinated enough. No, I didn't do accents. Too lazy. And I've read too many articles on Springhole.

Spara Petrova~

The nurse didn't spend much time on me; I had twisted an ankle and received countless bruises, but other than that I was fine. Soon, Erica had entered the tent as well. While we waited for her arm to heal, we discussed our scores.

"I definitely did horribly," Colette repeated, staring at the ground. "You have no idea how injured I was. And... well.... can you keep a secret?" Erica and I nodded. "Well, Ann had to give me a hint."

I shrugged. "I took so long, though. I tripped over my feet and Hippo got mad and started chasing me. It's funny now that I look back, but I was so scared. And now it'll probably take so much off of my score."

Erica shrugged. "The hippogriff stepped on my arm."

Before we can discuss this further, the nurse enters the tent. "They're going to announce your scores."

We walked into the arena, where old Grandpa Frost from Hogwarts stood up.

"We, the judges, have talked everything over and decided on the scores," he began. He said more useless fluff, while I examined the other judges. Professor Ivanov, as well as Madame Ablina or Albina or whoever from Beauxbatons were looking disgruntled, especially the latter.

"...Colette Lucifere...." I heard, and my head, as well as everyone else's, snapped up. "She was injured while taming the hippogriff. However, she still managed to ride him and reach her goal in the end, with seven points. We award her third place." The Beauxbatons section cheered loudly.

The headmaster announced my score next."The Durmstrang champion, Spara Petrova, took the longest to tame the hippogriff. She angered the hippogriff at first, and showed courage in trying again. We award her eight points, and second place." Waiting for the somewhat less enthusiastic cheers from Durmstrang, which probably still resented me for acting like a Beaux-- a gossip, he continued.

"Erica Foster was the quickest to tame the hippogriff. Recieving an injury, she reached her goal without much difficulty," -- Erica snorted -- "showing a good memory and amazing knowledge of Care of Magical Creatures. As befits a Ravenclaw. Congratulations, Erica." THe heads of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang scowled even more ferociously.

The cheers were deafening, and Erica stood up, a smile on her face. When they quieted, she started to speak.

"Thank you for awarding me first place," she said quietly, and her voice was lost in the noise of the crowd. "Sonorus," I whispered, realizing. Shooting me a grateful look, she tried again.

"Thank you for awarding me first place," she repeated. "And I want to say something. All of you have read the article in the Prophet. None of it was true... well... my father is a Muggle. But we keep him a secret because he doesn't even know about the Wizarding world. He's a normal person, and I'm a normal student. I don't know how Porter got the idea for him to take over the wizarding world is true.

"Colette and Spara's stories aren't true either. Spara is just friends with Evan, and even if she felt otherwise, she would never make it public like that. And Colette never flirted with him. It was twisted to get onto the front page. Please, don't hold grudges about it."

As if a Silencing Charm was lifted, the stadium erupted into cheers. I saw many who were looking superior or disbelieving, but the part I cared about was cheering for Erica, for us. Colette and I threw ourselves upon her. "You're amazing," Colette whispered.

Later, in the tent, the headmaster showed us the golden apple, pear, and orange we'd recovered during the task. "These are your clue to the next task," he explained.

Erica~

Spara, Colette and I hurried off to the casle, talking at 90 miles per hour the whole way. The nurse had fixed my arm quickly, and it felt good as new. I was floating on a cloud of disbelief. First place! I hadn't even dreamed of it. And, best of all, the whole Daily Prophet thing was cleared up for now.

"I vill never be able to look at a hypogriff ze same way again." Colette moaned. Spara and I cracked up. "So, the next thing on our list is figuring out the clue and the Yule Ball," I said. Spara and Colette stopped short. "The vat ball?" Spara said. "We 'ave to go to a ball?" Colette sounded excited. "Oh, zat will be so much fun!" Spara looked less energetic. "Do we... have to 'ave a date?" Spara said nervously. I nodded. "Sadly, yes." Spara moaned. "Oh, how wonderful." I was just about to tell her that it wasn't all that bad, when I stopped short when I saw someone scuffling nervously towards me.

Elizabeth.

She looked in shock at the three of us talking and laughing like old friends, then turned to me. "Erica? Can we talk?" I nodded and looked at the others. "I'll be right back." They nodded. "Ve'll be right 'ere if you need us," Colette said, giving Elizabeth a suspicious glare. Elizabeth shrank back and followed me over to the ancient willow tree.

"Look Erica." Elizabeth stared nervously at the ground. "I'm sorry I didn't believe you when you said that your dad didn't want to take over the world. It was a stupid thing for me to believe. And I just ran into that Porter woman, and she's absolutely bezerks. I see that you're right now." She took a deep breath. "Do you think we can still be friends?" I slowly looked up at her. "I know you're a true friend, Elizabeth," I said, "but you abandoned me when I most needed you. And you've known me the longest. You should have known those rumors weren't true." She nodded sadly. "But I'll forgive you if you promise never to do something like that again. And," I said, giving her a fixed glare, "never to make fun of Colette and Spara again. They're amazing, and none of what you said about them is true." Elizabeth gave a relieved smile. "I promise." As we hugged, I realized that we had made up, but I was pretty sure we would never be as close as we once were. I had found two friends who I felt I could rely on and were better friends than her.

I hurried back over to them. "Let's go," I said, grinning at them. "I'm starving." They nodded, and Colette was the first to turn towards the castle. She stopped suddenly. "Spara!" She croaked, and pointed towards the castle. Evan was marching towards us.

"Ello ladies," he said politely. He looked at all of us and turned to me. "Congratulations on your vin." I nodded. "Thank you." He turned back to the other two. "If you don't mind, I vould like to speak to Spara for a minute." Spara went pale. "Ov course," Colette said, with a small smile. "Ve'll meet you at the great 'all later, Spara." She nodded, and Colette grabbed my arm and dragged me towards the great hall.
