Triwizard Tournament RP!
I know there's...

I know there's already another HPRP going on, but this idea has been spinning around in my head for a while, and it's time to put it into action.

So this is somewhere between the time the Tournament started and the time 'the death toll mounted so high that they canceled it'. We're going to need to do a lot of inventing, since I don't think Rowling gives that much information on it. Time to get out the old copy of The Lexicon and try to look up anything related to it.

But anyway, this is before you had to be of age to enter, so you can be any age. Hogwarts is the host school since we know the most about it.

A downside is that we can only have three champions, but we can be friends, supporters, etc. We'll decide which school wins later.

So our task is to tame a hypogriff which will lead us to our next clue, correct?

Erica~

We all sat in the tent, either sweating, pacing, or feeling nauseouse. Spara kept peeking out of the tent and looking at the roaring crowd, updating us on how many people she thought were here. "It looks like 1000... no, maybe 2000..." In the end, Colette and I yelped "Spara, shut up!" at the exact same time.

"Ah, hello girls!" the headmaster said cheerily, coming into the tent. "Now, your first task is quite simple... you are just going to be taming a hypogriff." All our faces went pale. "J-just taming a hypogriff?"  Colette stuttered. "You really expect us to do zat in a matter of minutes?" The headmaster nodded. "Now, before you go, you have one quick thing to do. I'll leave you and Miss Porter to it." He left and, to our horror, Magical Porter stepped into the tent. "Hello girls!" she said like we were her best friend.

"YOU!" we all screamed. "Get your corsetted self out of 'ere before ve hex you," Spara growled. "Now now girls, don't be so overreacting!" she said innocently.

"Overreacting? You made me the most hated person in the wizarding world!" I shouted. "Und you made everyvone think I vuz in love wiz Evan! Vere did you get zat idea from?" Spara boomed. "Und you actually had ze nervez to make people theenk I vaz flirting wiz him!" Colette hissed. "You actually theenk ve are overreacting?!" Magical Porter looked slightly flustered. "Well... um..."

"And by the way, where did you get all that information about my family from?" I yelled. "I've never met you before! You've never been to our house! The only reason we don't tell anyone about my dad is because he doesn't need to know about the wizarding world! He works at the royal court, for pete's sake!" "Und how did you know about Evan?" Spara growled. "Or my seester?" Colette hissed. When Magical Porter didn't answer, I stood right in her face. "Get out," I hissed in disgust. "And when you write your little article, tell them that we're three smart girls who don't give a dang about your stupid lying articles!" Magical Porter rushed away, her skirt flowing behind her. "Und take your stupid quill wiz you!" Colette yelled after her, chucking the quill in her direction.

Suddenly, the headmaster walked in. "All right girls. It's time. Colette, you're up." Colette looked terrified. "You'll be fine," I said confidently. "Good luck!"

I'm so sorry! :/ Too many tests at school!

Colette-

The headmaster called my name first. I gulped, wondering why I, who knew so little about hippogriffs, had to go first. I'd heard that if they scratched or bit you it sent an awful pain through your whole body and you felt like you were about die but that was just some talk I'd picked up at school once. I hoped that it wasn't true.

"Good luck." Erica smiled encouragingly. (We seemed to have become friends over the last few days.)

"I hope it goes vell." Spara patted my back as I walked out of the tent.

A large space had been cleared to form an "arena". Around it were bleachers filled with students and teachers. On a special podium somewhere in the middle of the swarm were four well-dressed wizards, the judges.

"COLETTE!" I saw Ann sitting with a bunch of other Beauxbatons waving a flag with my face on it. It was charmed so whenever she waved it different pictures appeared. One was of me holding up the big Triwizard Tournament cup. What a nice thought, but first I had to get through the challenges.

In the middle of the clearing stood a hippogriff, a proud animal with huge wings, a bird face and the hooves of a horse. What did I know about those creatures?

I forced my feet to move although it felt as if invisible glue was sticking on them.

The hippogriff raised its head, its black eyes boring into mine. I kept walking. Could you even call this a challenge?

Without warning he raised himself onto his hind legs and kicked at me with his front ones. One of his hooves hit my chest and sent me flying backward. Coughing, I blinked back tears of pain and stood up.

"Hommage! Colette, hommage!" Someone yelled. Was it Ann? What did she mean by respect? What had I learned in school? Had we even talked about hippogriffs?

Hippogriffs need respect. They are proud animals. When you want to ride them, you must show them that THEY are the boss.

I didn't remember where I'd read or heard it but it was as if I'd found the missing puzzle piece in my mind. I had to show respect. L'hommage.

Bow. I curtsied in front of the gigantic creature without taking my eyes off of his strong body. After a moment he also bowed. I took a step towards him. His muscles relaxed. Should I go on?

Another step.I reached out my hand for him to sniff. His nostrils quivered as he smelled me and then my hand was on his head.

The crowd cheered.

Then it was time to mount, which wasn't hard except that as soon as I was on his back he bolted and launched into the sky.

Cold wind slashed at my face as we flew through the air. Were we even going to the right place? Was there something else I had to do?

I dared to look down at the world below me and noticed a glinting in the trees. At the same moment I noticed that the animal had no intention of landing. I had to make him land.

I won't go into the details of my struggle but if you've ridden horses it sort of helps you steer a hippogriff. We landed on the ground with a hard thump, which sent me tumbling off the creature's feathered back. But that wasn't too bad because it also caused me to fall right in front of a silver-gold object that looked something like an apple. My clue.

*

Back in the tent I was greeted by Spara and Erica but we didn't have time to talk because Spara was called out so my wounds were tended to and I waited, turning the golden apple over in my hands.

By the way, I'm thinking that we can change the storyline and make it about around early twentieth century because nobody really acts the way they are supposed to X3

Spara~

I was not encouraged by Colette's success. In fact, I felt even more nervous. Whether they considered me a gossip or not, I was representing my school. Plus, I had a goal of my own: I had to show Evan that I could do this without him.

I entered; my hippogriff was a tawny color with amber eyes. If I was in a different situation, I would have admired his beautiful, glossy feathers, but now was clearly not the time. I slowly edged toward it, then I tripped over my rather large feet and fell right toward the hippogriff.

That was most certainly not quite the right thing to do. It reared back, screeching terrifyingly. Gasping, I picked myself up from the ground and backed away slowly. The hippogriff charged, and I bolted.

From anyone else's point of view, this was probably a very comical chase. I ran as fast as my clothes permitted me, trying to weave and dodge to get away from the hippogriff. I could hear jeers and laughter from the audience and realized how stupid I must look, running for my life from a hippogriff on the rampage.

But when I saw one of the teachers standing up to interfere, I realized: I would rather be run over by a hippogriff than be the girl they helped. I was from Durmstrang, for heaven's sake!

I wheeled around to face him, glaring straight into his eyes. Stunned by the change, the hippogriff stopped.

"Stop it," I hissed, trying to keep my voice calm.

He pawed the ground with his hoof menacingly. "Please," I repeated. "I need to tame you. I can't do this without you." Then, getting an idea, I gave a low cursty and extended my hand.

The hippogriff bowed his head.

The crowd was no longer jeering, they were quiet. I wished I could look back and see what my school was thinking, but I didn't dare anger the hippogriff.

Now, apparently, I was supposed to mount him. Trying to take it in baby steps, I first stroked his neck. Then, carefully, I swung one leg over him-- and was immediately thrust back, nearly falling. For the hippogriff had risen. I caught one glimpse of a face that I still like to imagine was Evan's even though I was so scared that I wasn't quite sure. I never got to verify, because the hippogriff had stopped climbing and was now flying through the air. All I could do was hold on for dear life and keep my eyes screwed shut as the wind flapped my hair.

After about fifteen minutes of this torture, I bounced slightly atop the hippogriff as it landed. Cautiously opening my eye, I half-slid from the hippogriff. And there, lying beneath a tree was a pear. A gold-colored pear, glinting in the sun. I closed my hands around it. Comic chase, wild ride, or clumsy fall no longer mattered. I had gotten my clue. I had passed the task.

Sorry, I was on vacation so I didn't have a chance to post. :/

//Ann//

I sat next to Leila in the stands, who, despite her claim that Colette was just another burden in her life, was gripping my hand so hard her knuckles were ghostly white. "She'll be alright, don't worry," she said to me, but she was probably just trying to convince herself. Colette walked out of the champion's tent, wearing a blue body suite with her last name on the back, and 'Beauzbatons' written in large letters. She walked towards the hippogriff, and it reared on its hind legs, screeching. The students around me breathed in a collective gasp, and Leila almost broke the circulation in my arm. The hippogriff kicked Colette in the chest, and she fell backwards. I took my arm away from Leila, and she began to chew her fingers, effectively destroying her manicure. She must have been real nervous for Colette. I reached into my shoulder bag, pulling out one of my school books. I flipped to the chapter on hippogriffs. "When approaching hippogriffs, the rider must show respect to the animal. These creatures need to understand that the rider means them no harm, and that they will be in control at all times." I sat up again and grabbed my wand, amplifying my voice so she could hear me over the crowd. "Hommage, Colette! Hommage!" She seems to understand, and she curtsies to the beast. Leila takes hold of my arm again. The hippogriff seems to bow, and Colette starts to mount it. It doesn't do anything, and once Colette is on they begin to fly, flying over us and into the woods behind the stands. She comes back a few minutes later, clutching a small object that glints golden in the morning light. She lands and jumps off, and you could see she's limping. When the hippogriff kicked her it probably broke more than a few bones. She walks back to the tent, and a cannon gets shot, signaling that she's done. Spara begins to walk out, but Leila and I are running down the stands and rushing to the tent to see Colette.

@Tiffany W.- Good idea! ;) By the way when is the Yule Ball?

Colette-

Leila and Ann raced into the tent despite the angry groans from some of the nurses.  A plump woman was standing in front of me, examining my ribs and my ankle, which apparently was also broken. I set down the golden apple as soon as I saw them.

"You did so well! Très bien!" Ann hugged my head because she didn't want to break more of my ribs.

"Was it you who yelled hommage?" I asked, remembering how the voice had helped me.

"Oui!" Ann sneaked a look at the nurse who was busy reading a label on a flask before whispering, "Do you think that's cheating?"

I shook my head. "No. Anyway, it's too late to do something about it."

Leila cleared her throat, seeming embarrassed. "You..uh...didn't die."

I groaned inwardly. I shouldn't have expected anything nice from my sister. "No."

"That's good." Then she left without saying another word.

"Miss?" The nurse with the flask nudged Ann lightly. "You must go now. You can talk with your friend later." Ann grinned at me once more before she also left the tent.

"Colette, is it?" The woman asked after she'd poured the contents of the flask into a little glass cup. The liquid was orange and smelled like peppermint and something else - nutmeg?

"Yes. Zat's me."

"Well then, you have to drink this." She handed me the cup.

"Vy?"

"Because it'll heal you. All your bones will grow back together in about ten minutes."

"Isn't zere a different way to do zis?" I thought I'd remembered the nurse at our school using a charm to heal my broken finger.

"It's not reliable and you need to be healed soon. Just drink it quickly. It only burns for a moment."

I saw Spara enter the tent and Erica leave. Spara looked much less beat up than I. I'd probably gotten last place... if injuries took points off your score.

I raised the cup to my lips and let the liquid slowly run into my mouth. As soon as it got into my throat I felt a sensation like I was burning on the inside, as if a fire had been set in my body. I grasped the edge of the bed and dropped the glass, which was caught just in time by the very calm looking nurse.

And then, the feeling was gone.

"Rest a little, I'll check on the Durmstrang girl." With that the nurse left.

Erica~

I watched Spara come in to the tent, not looking too beat up. That was a good sign, I guess. At least I knew I wouldn't die.

I took a deep breath and stepped out of the tent. I told myself to expect jeering, yelling and possibly food-throwing. To my surprise, I didn't see or hear any of that. In fact, I didn't hear anything.

I was met with complete silence.

Everyone looked at me with a hostile look on their face. Even my fellow Ravenclaws kept silent, even though most of them looked slightly guilty about it. I caught Elizabeths eye, but she quickly looked away.

Taking a deep breath, I looked up at my opponent Hypogriff. He had a deep roan colored behind and a grey front. And his eyes had a look in them that said bring it on, you wimpy loser you. Trying to breathe normally, I bit my lip and took a step forward.

Not the smartest idea.

In an instant, I felt a searing pain on my arm, and unfortunatly, a loud crunch. All that registered in my screaming brain was hypogriff stepped on my arm. I am going to kill it for that. Fighting back tears, I straightened and looked at the hypogriff. I could almost hear it say watcha gonna do now, stupid? Suddenly, one of my care of magical creatures lessons came to mind.

Hypogriffs demand respect. Never try to challenge one. I gave a low bow to the thing, not taking my eye off it. It looked at me for a moment, considering whether to bow of to turn me into wizard pulp, and then slowly gave a bow. Climbing on best I could with a broken arm, I sat myself onto its back and nearly fell off again as it jerked into the air.

Reminding myself never to get a hypogriff as a pet, I clung on for dear life and hoped that it wouldn't dump me somewhere. Unfortunatly, that's exactly what it was thinking. It dive-bombed into a nearby place and dropped me onto the ground. Next to my dying arm was a golden apple. I grabbed it and, as best I could without yelling in pain, I limped off to the medical tent.

If I had listened better, I might have heard the cheers behind me.

I think the Yule ball is right after the challenge.

Okay, score time! Tell me what you think...

So, Collete is probaby an eight or seven, because she got hurt the most and she also got a hint... But if they didn't notice the hint, then probably an eight. Spara also gets an eight because she took the longest to tame the hippogriff. And Erica is nine, because she got injured but tamed the hippogriff most quickly.

So, which school do we want to win?

And the Yule Ball is around Christmas... Hmm. Who should Spara ask -evil grin- I'm still trying to decide if she actually likes Evan or is just friends...

One of you guys should win... I was wondering what happened in the end that makes them stop doing the Tri-Wizard tournament... hmmm, should I make Erica die, *evil look on face, MUAHAHAHA!* or should we just make them all get really hurt and they decide to cancel all upcoming TriWizard tournaments for the future wizards safety? I know I sound evil, but for some reason I like making a few of my characters die once in a while.

And who should ask Erica? Or should I make her go dateless... wow im being extremely mean to her!

I've an idea, tell me if you like it. I AM NOT INSISTING that we do this. I'm just brainstorming.

So, I am going to rip off Fleur Delacour's underground tunnel idea: tunnels, and we have to go find the triwizard cup inside. They're being guarded by a bunch of creatures, including.... Ta da.... A Welsh Green dragon.

(note:sorry, I am completely dragon obsessed (spelling optional))

Anyway... Yah... They get completely beaten up by the dragon, deaths optional. That way nobody has to to win the tournament.

Also, if we agree on the scores and on nobody finishing the third task, then Colette will get the most points on the second task since Erica got the most in the first... Spara will get second both times, I guess.

Oh!!! Just came up with alternative plan: okay, so the cockotrice is the third task in some sort of obstacle course, and that's when we do Operation Cockatrice On The Rampage with the same results as Operation Dragon On The Rampage. Ad the second task is something else.

DOR! I think dragons are much more interesting! By the way 1 is the worst score and 10 is the best, right? And can the second task be something underwater? That would be SO awesome. :)
