I know there's
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
I know there's already another HPRP going on, but this idea has been spinning around in my head for a while, and it's time to put it into action.
So this is somewhere between the time the Tournament started and the time 'the death toll mounted so high that they canceled it'. We're going to need to do a lot of inventing, since I don't think Rowling gives that much information on it. Time to get out the old copy of The Lexicon and try to look up anything related to it.
But anyway, this is before you had to be of age to enter, so you can be any age. Hogwarts is the host school since we know the most about it.
A downside is that we can only have three champions, but we can be friends, supporters, etc. We'll decide which school wins later.

Saya is a Slytherin by the way. Ambition fuels her raison d'etre (to become rich and powerful and yadayadayada) ;)

EEEE! This sounds so cool! May I be a student from the _______ (can't remember the name, but that French school)? We had an RP about this a while ago and it was fun. If I'm not allowed to, I'll make another bio, but for now...
Name: Colette Luciferé
Age: 14
Appearance: Curly hip-length blond hair, blue/grey eyes, pale glowing skin, tall, graceful
Personality: a little snobby and a little shy
Blood Status: Pure blood
Family: Mom, Dad and an older sister, Leila

(May 13, 2012 - 1:30 pm)
Beauxbatons. Also, how is it pronounced? I always assumed it was BOO-baton, but I'm really not sure it was right,,,
Name: Spara Petrova (made up a Durmstrang-sounding last name on the spot)
Age: 14
Year: 4
School: Durmstrang
Appearance: Dark brown hair, grey eyes, tall. Basically, that's all.
Personality: Cold. Not very social. Bold.
Family: Probably lives around Russia. She speaks English because her father's from there.
So probably Hogwarts ends up winning? Also, we don't start from being on the way to Hogwarts because I don't think the Hogwarts Express was around back then. We start either when the schools arive or.... yeah, when the schools arrive. Unless anyone else has other ideas?
I think it would be BOW-ba-ton. (Bow like you tie a ribbon on a package, not what you do with your head when you say a prayer. English sure is complicated!) Have you heard of the actor Beau Bridges? He's pronounced Bow (like a hair bow).

Admin is right, it's pronounced Boh-ba-ton, and the s is silent. Beaux is masculin* and plural and it means pretty. Batons means baton as in the stick.
Maybe we could start at the feast where it is announced that Hogwarts will be hosting the Triwizard, or when the other schools arrived.
*I'm not sure if you do French in school or not, but I do think you're American, and Americans study Spanish, not French, right? Anyway, in French there are masculine and feminine words (and obviously plural and singular) that decide what the articles and adjectives will be like. For example: le beau** baton= male and singular. La belle baton= feminine and singular. Les belles batons= feminine and plural.
**And in French, adjectives are normally written/spoken after the noun, but words of size, age and some other categories go before.
And now I will end my know-it-all rant.
In most American high schools, students can choose to study Spanish, German, or French. Some schools may offer more languages, including Latin. Foreign languages may be studied earlier, too, but there might not be so much choice.

According to Harry Potter Wiki the second Triwizard Tournament in 1792 went wrong after one of the tasks where you had to catch a cockatrice (rooster with lizard tail) went wrong. I don't know if we want to do that exact tournament or if we'll make up our own. If we make up our own it could be sometime in 1800.
(May 14, 2012 - 8:32 am)
Oohh good idea! What do you think. Tiffany W.?
(May 14, 2012 - 2:07 pm)
Sounds interesting! Yeah, let's do the one with the cokatrice (too lazy to check how it's spelled).
(May 14, 2012 - 8:54 pm)
How about the cockatrice is in the second challenge?
(May 15, 2012 - 8:17 am)
So cokatrice in the second challenge? What should the other two be? And who's going to be the champions? Saya definitely doesn't. ;)
