Welcome, Chatterboxers, to the new Kyngdom board! You'll notice a few things have changed. We hope these changes will make it easier for both longtime and new users to participate in the story.
First, we've asked Dr. Sheepshank from Cypher Labs to comb through all the threads and put together a summary and history of the Kyngdom story so far. You’ll see that in the "Story So Far." He'll continue adding to it as the story grows.
Second, we've reduced the number of active threads. The only active threads will be the ones you see on the main page. These threads (many of which are inspired by your ideas!) will help us keep the story organized.
Third, to keep the story manageable, you will no longer be able to start your own new threads on the main page. A smaller number of threads will be easier for everyone to digest, and it will be more obvious where the action is happening, and what the action is. You can still create role-play (RP) threads on the Kyngdom RP Board.
Don’t worry! Your old threads are not gone. You can still read them in the Kyngdom Archive, but you will no longer be able to comment on them.
We hope you like the changes. If you have any suggestions for new threads, new groups you want to form, or general questions for us, feel free to comment below.
We've had an exciting few months building and growing Kyngdom. We love all the ideas you are bringing to this adventure. Have fun, and happy writing!

Alright y'all, guess what I just did in the last two days...
I compiled a summary of Kyngdom's ENTIRE history!!! :D It's super long but it goes from the VERY BEGINNING to NOW!!! I'm trying to figure out where to put it.
I'm also working on a Kyngdom Academy thread (a guide to everything in Kyngdom), but I'm not going to post it before I get your input.
Do you guys want it to go on the Inkwell to try to get others to join? Or would you rather not have new people from the CB?
What kinds of stuff should I put on it? Right now I have
-History
-Beginning Plot
-The entire summary of everything that's happened so far
-Etiquette/do's and don'ts/how to join
-Thread tour (how to navigate Kyngdom)
-Dictionary of terms

I think a dictionary of terms is called a glossary, right?
Etiquette could be "Guidelines".
I don't mind new people, but what I'd really like is if some of the older Kyngdomers came back to help us out. Of course, if they don't, this summary you speak of should be very effective.

Heh. It's Thanksgiving break, and I have a lot of free time. ^-^ It's all of the summaries that you, Sybill, someone else, and I wrote. I organized them into chronological order and filled in a bunch of the blanks.
Yeah, I'd really like that too. I'm trying to think if I'm in contact with any of the older people...Hm.

Wow. I've missed a lot XD.
Anyways, I know that I have no room to talk because I disappeared for forever, but I do have a suggestion. I know that we need to get Kyngdom more active and that we need to attract more people, but I think that we should simplify rather than complexify. I don't know about you, but the world of Kyngdom was already confusing and chaotic when I left. There are so many sections and subplots, and adding filler characters, in my opinion, kind of clutters it up. It is very difficult to try and catch up with what is happening, and I'm not even starting fresh. I'm not saying that these filler characters don't have a place in Kyngdom or that they aren't important; I'm sure they are. It's just that I think we should focus our efforts on moving forward those areas that most people are active on. We need to get the ball rolling in order to add to it. I think one of the reasons that we're having a hard time moving forward is that everyone has their own objectives, and there are not many ground rules laid down. I know that Kyngdom is supposed to be a place for creative expression and new ideas, but I think we should put a few guidelines down on how many new things you can create and where the plot is going. Kyngdom, like any other universe, has to have certain restrictions. For example, creating a new species just to make a charrie is a little excesive, and I think it would make sense for them to be a part of an already existing one or a small branch of them.
Maybe I've been reading into this wrong, and I am in no means coming in and saying that this is what we should do. I'm just offering my opinion and suggestion that we shouldn't add to something until we do all we can with what we have.

I agree with you, Sprocket. I think adding a few things here and there is okay, but there’s been so much adding and adding and adding already, and now I think it’s time to start bringing everything together as we get closer to Kyngdom’s close.

I'm sorry, I didn't really think of things that way. I thought the new charries would give us lots of different angles to approach plot advancement from, but on the flip side, I guess they could make things cluttered and confusing.
My plan for these charries was for them to contribute to the advancement of the main plot, not to create new plots--If FAFA gets active again they can seek out the Powers, and we need the Powers for the main plot. If the Resistance gets active again we can finally move along Catastrophe's plan, and we realllly need Catastrophe. And then, by bringing Catastrophe's activity levels up, we give the Resistance something to act upon.
But I can see what you're saying. What exactly do you have in mind we do? Stop making new characters, refrain from posting on certain threads, or...? Which additions do you think we could do without?
By the way, now seems like a good time to plan some more stuff on the plot thread!

I think a good place to start would be to lay out some ground rules. Maybe make a list of all of the species and special powers, set some boundaries on what people can and cannot do. I don't really know how we would do this(maybe make a new thread for it, or ask the admins to add something on the charrie creation thread?).
This should be an open process though. I don't want to restrict or push out anyone, rather add a little bit of helpful control and regulations.
Another thing we could do is maybe move away from the RP board. I like how we're posting on the main page, making it seem more welcoming and active. Maybe post a thread on the RP board where we outline all the new places to post and discuss new plot ideas?
Also, maybe we could make a post of all of the minor characters and their positions so that we could reference them in our posts. For example, instead of saying, "I got help from a Resistance general", we could say ,"I got help from General Fuyu". You see what I mean?
If I want to post something relating to what's happening with the Resistance, should I do it on the RP board or on the Resistance thread?
