~A frilled shark

Deep in an unknown world, something stirred.

Black against black in the darkness of the deepest depths of the sea.

It was so dark, not even one who could see in night would be able to see the instrument laying in the crevices of the mouth to a cave.

Yet a creature stirred.

This creature seemed to be blind, a haze of white covered their eyes. Yet as it swam closer, it could sense the power this instrument held. It could see a future where this instrument would hold the world in it's talons again.

It swam closer to the instrument. It's gills pulsed in and out, in and out, the strong sense of power growing closer at the second. The future of unlimited power flashed through it's mind, it's vision, and it knew that once it held the instrument in it's jaws, it's whole life would be impacted by it.

It would hold unlimited Power.

~A wolf

The time was near. We knew the time was coming. In our pack, we held a special power, in the form of an instrument.

The Guardian knew the time was coming, as she told. Soon the instrument would be played, in the lone voice of a wolf's howl, and a creature would emerge.

It was right. We knew now the creature inside was no evil. It was meant to fight the darkness that had overcome Kyndom, out forests, our lands.

It was time.

The Power of Howl must be released.

We must fight back to the darkness corrupting our world.

~Sylvia

In the forest, light streamed down into a valley, a small circular valley, peaceful with only crickets humming softly in the grass.

It was a hidden valley. No one of bad intents could get past the barrier of life and brair that protected the creature inside.

The creatures, actually.

Sylvia...and Sylvia's foal.

He had grown fast. Sylvia knew better then anyone else that horses weren't supposed to grow this fast. Yet here he was, Sylvia's foal, a little more then half the size of his mother.

But of course, her mother was not as big as she usually is, and a horn was missing from atop her head. Unlike her beautiful son, with a black horn that matched his hooves and reflected off his silver eyes.

He laughed and chased crickets in the sunbeams. Everything was beautiful. It was peaceful. The only thing Sylvia would ever care about was her son. The Powers didn't exist to her anymore. Her siblings were nothing in the light of a creature so pure.

He jumped into the air, snapping at a cricket, before falling down to his back, laughing. Sylvia smiled.

And then the brair surrounding the valley rustled, whispering slightly in the wind. Sylvia stood up, alarmed. So did her son, flicking his ears back at her. She neighed, stomping her hooves, and he looked back before coming to hide behind her flank, pawing the ground softly.

The whole barrier seemed to shake as a creature pulled itself through the end opposite her. It was a human. With icy-blond hair, strange blue eyes, like chips of ice, and striking white skin.

Sylvia blinked at her for a moment. This girl was all too familiar. "Celesti...?" She whispered in disbelief, taking a shaking step forward. "But...it can't be..."

The girl shook her head. "Sylvia, I am Icy. The descendant of the PowerFriend, your mother...Celesti.  I've come to tell you that the Powers are in grave danger. You are in grave danger. They need you."

~Catastrophe

Live was boaring for a boy king. Well, an old boy king.

He was yet to become king of this time, but his council was working on it. They were talking it out. Which Catastrophe thought was stupid. Why couldn't they just take it over with violence? It was faster.

Though he remembered that wasn't how he first earned the rule of Kyndom. He remembered in order to rule, he had to gain the respect of the people.

The boy king sighed.

He reached up to where his bird, the magnificent creature who was drawn to Catastrophe and his power, his hunger for war, was perched. The bird was gazing out the window, as he often did.

"Hello, Enyo. Do you wish to fly today?" He called, brushing his fingers through the large bird's feathers.

The bird looked down at him with his usual 'I'm better then you' expression, before looking back up at the window. Catastrophe smiled, adjusting his position on his uncomfortable throne to look up at the bird. "That was a yes, I presume. No bird in it's right mind would surpass a chance to fly."

He stood up and offered his arm to the large bird, about the size of an overgrown hawk. The bird glanced at him, before stepping onto his arm. His surpiroty almost matched the way Catastrophe felt. Except, Catastrophe really was supiorer to everyone else. He was the only creature who had ever killed both a Sideaffected power and a Power. All of the Powers, actually.

And the only creature who would do it again. And destroy them for good.

He walked the bird to his balconey overlooking all of Kyndom. You could see the decoy forest, the towns around it, the main city of Kyndom, the ocean sparkling on the horizon, and even the Layberanth Tunnles far away.

His castle was hidden on a mountain streatching high over all of Kyndom. He was glad his sight was so keen, or else he wouldn't be able to see his land streaching all around him.

This castle was so well hidden or worshiped (whichever one was fine with him) that in the thousands of years that he had been gone, his castle had stayed up. Now his followers were replacing the old wood and stone, making it as perfect and stronge as it was a thousand years ago.

He opened the door and stepped up onto the balconey. He breathed in the air before lifting up his arm to release his bird.

It flew out into the air, the sun glimmering off of the firey red and yellow colors of the feathers. Of his bird.

His Song of War Bird.

~Whist

I slept in a cloud of mist. But my eyes were alert. Through them I watched Jaaws as a cricket, pirched silently in the cover of leaves. Our argument over the false Power of Howl was still fresh. Through another I watched my own back, so any surprise attacks wouldn't fase me. And through another, I watched the still forms of the Powers, controlled by both me and Jaaws.

I felt a shiver of joy at that. I controled the Powers now. Not Jaaws. Though if we hadn't worked together, neither would be able to control them. I guess that was the only good thing about working with a witch of a dragon.

And then, I saw I sight I haden't seen for a thousand years.

Through an owl watching the sky, I saw a bird the color of fire.

I sat up so suddenly I saw Jaaws head shoot up. "Enyo." I whispered out to the mist. "Enyo is back. Enyo has found us."

Hello Kyndom! Write as any one or all of your charries here. This thread is for making connections with other charries and the rest of Kyndom.

Some quick questions...what is Sylvia's foal's name? I just guessed on what he looked like and acted like.

Also Moonshadow, I hope I got everything about your pack right.

I don't currently know where Catastrophe is, this just seemed the most likley.

This is ment to move the plot foward, I have every right to RP as everyone I just RPed as. Scylla, if you ever come back, I'm sorry if you didn't want that to happen, but it's been a few months of you not responding and the plot must move fowards!

@udidntevenmeetthem -- Now, I have no idea who you are, but don't you think you're being a little rude?? Just because Night Whispers never met them doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't know they're needed. And, I don't mean to be rude, but Night Whispers did actually meet Scylla. Scylla came back for a couple days at the beginning of summer(?). And of course Night Whispers said hello. Besides, what you're doing is making me think you don't care about the opinions of newer Kyngdomers. That's probably not what you intentded, but it is the vibe you are giving off. And of course, everybody on Kyngdom has an equal say.

I'm pretty sure that it was talking about me. Not only is that rude, but I have met Night before on the CB.

Thanks, Sybill, for defending me. :) I actually did meet a lot of the older Kyngdomers, but they never met me. I never posted way back then. I only looked, unsure of what I should do... *Shakes head* ENOUGH OF THAT. *Smiles*

Shouts and commotion floated through the stalls on the wings of the cool ocean breeze. Connie had heaved the boxes up onto the rickety shelves and unpacked the prettiest items to display on the table. The boxes of items they'd dug out of the dusty old offices at Resistance HQ when they'd been staying there, things they'd found in the ruins of their home, packages they'd been carrying with them since they'd first started up with the movement in Sailhaven, it was all here. The four had decided that maybe setting up a stand, putting a few dents in the heaps of stuff they'd managed to uphold an emotional connection with, however small, would loosen whatever weights lay heavy on their chests. Mer was a beautiful city, glittering and joyous, and the bustle of the flea market was exhilarating in a way that only a new beginning could be. It was not really a new beginning in the technical sense; the war was still in full force, Mina was... somewhere, nobody really knew what was going on with Shadow and Alexandria-turned-whatever her name was now, and this whole nonsense with the Power of Hoof... but still, there was a feeling in the air of change. Connie liked that.

There was suddenly a clamor from a few stalls down and Connie turned her head from the short woman in front of her, whose hair was wildly curled and skin thickly wrinkled, wrapped in so many layers of colorful cloth and holding so many parcels that she herself almost seemed to disappear.

"That is the stall with the Power," the woman whispered in a very heavy, unrecognizable accent, startling Connie. This was the first time she'd spoken. "They claim it is the real one."

Connie nodded and turned back to her, trying not to jump at the woman's piercing gaze which seemed to have suddenly grown stronger. Glaringly blue eyes peered out from her withered face, eyes so bright Connie wondered how she hadn't noticed their brilliance before. A chill ran down her back.

"Uh-huh. But I don;t think so. I know the type of people who have the powers, and they -- even Catastrophe -- aren't the type to sell them at a Flea Market. Besides, after all this time looking for it... it seems too easy." She felt confident in her opinion, but something about the woman's gaze made her uneasy. She slid the parcel she'd wrapped up with the little china doll the old woman had pointed at earlier towards her. Connie made to turn back but stopped when she saw the curled hair bobbing and realized the woman was slowly nodding.

"You may be right, young one," she murmured huskily.  "You young people know so much. But, child, just remember; even the most unfathomable lies," she dug a wrinkled hand into her flowing robes, as if like a pocket, and met Connie's eyes once more, "often prove to be truths."

She lifted her palm and dropped three glittering gold coins onto the table. Connie opened her mouth to say thank you but, like mist over a swirling sea, in the instant her hand flitted back softly to her side and a cool breath of wind blew, the old woman was gone.

Kimiko~~

Pani spun in a circle, praising Whisper. She darted into the changing room. About a minute later, she reemerged, spinning and singing. She looked magnificent in the dress, and I clapped.

Pani grinned. "Don't I just look BEAUTIFUL?" I laughed as she pranced and skipped around in the fancy gown. Whisper looked pleased with herself .

That was when the panicked screams began.

Well, I wss getting bored. I turned to Kimi, "You know how much that Power thing would sell for on the black market?"

" I dunno. A whole buncha platinum, maybe? Probably around a million, " Kimi replied with a shrug.

"Imagine all the things someone could do with a million dollars. I can feel the power already!" I said.

" I feel like you're trying to imply something, but I can't figure out what, " Kimi replied, giving me a suspicious look.

"I think we should take that drum."

"How? We can't exactly steal it if that pirate is holding  it as close as she is, and we don't have anything to fight the pirates with. And who knows how many there are?" Kimi said.

" Actually, you're wrong. " I carefully and stealthily showed her the contents of my jacket's inner pocket--two laser pistols.

"Where did yoh get those?" Kimi whispeesd.

" I'm the daughter of the mayor of Sanukaville. The town that's famous for its miljtia. "

"Well, still. What do we do? Just shoot them?" Kimi asked.

" I have a plan, " I said, handing her a laser pistol.

Hey guys! I've been gone for a while, but I'm back. I left around the start of the flea market. Could someone give me a plot recap? Thank you!

All right, let's see. The Power being sold is a fake, and the crowd around its stall is huge and wild. Rose spoke to a guy who's planning to steal and sell it after it's bought (dunno where that's going, if anywhere). Kimiko, Machali and Moonlight find Whisper (Angel of Darkness) being held captive by two freak show guys and free her, then go clothes shopping. A girl I suspect of being Icy is trying to figure out how to steal the (fake) Power. Selena Evadere, its seller, first sells some chickens, promising that the bidding will start afterwards. Lots of people are selling stuff and/or planning to steal the Power. And that's where we are, at least on this thread.

Cool, thank you! Are The Elites still in the woods somewhere?

Also, Hazel, are you here?

"What exactly is that?" "Ah, good eye. It's an antique. The wood is barely worn, too." "Which part of Kyngdom is it from? Southwest maybe?" "I...It's not from Kyngdom, ma'am." "Ah. Another one, then."

My eyes are closed as I lean against a stack of crates, listening to this exchange.

"Do you have anything Power-related? My friends are quite the scholars of theirs. I can't afford the real thing, but maybe..." The woman murmurs. "Ah! We do have a book..." He replies. "Seri! Can you--"

I stand and emerge. "Edan..." I mutter. He smiles. "Do y--" He begins. "Sorry, ma'am, but the book isn't available." I say. Of course it's not available--I'm waiting until we leave Kyngdom to sell it. It's more valuable as a foreign trinket--it contains pictures of the Powers and things related to them on every page.

"However, I do hear that one of the Powers is often depicted as a unicorn. Perhaps this horn...?"

We sell the woman the unicorn horn, she leaves, and I'm much happier.

I turn towards him. "Edan, do you think..." I trail off as I leave for the storage. I get there, open a crate, and come back with a leather bound book. "Edan, do you think that if that first item had been from Kyngdom, she would've wanted it?" I ask as I thumb through the book. Every page has a beautiful picture of a Power on it.

"Yes." He says simply. I stop on a picture of a black dragon against a bright background and run my finger over some brush strokes. "Racist scum, then." I mutter under my breath. Edan stops me. "Seri, it's not because they hate us, or you." He corrects me.

I turn the page to an illustration of a shining unicorn horn. "They've been in conflict, Seri. They've been in war. They don't hate us, they just..." He trails off. "They just what?" I snap. He sighs. "They just don't think of us. They don't think of the world outside their borders."

I leave the book open on an illustration of a wolf's head, turned toward the moon.

Crystal~~~

I landed on the top of the table. "What a beautiful picture of Lunee."

The two shopkeepers , both human, one femsle and one male, look down at the small bird that has landed on their booth.

"Interesting that two outlanders like you have a book like this," I said. " I don't mean to be acting like any 'racist scum', of course. "

They blinked, staring at me.

"Mindreader?" The girl asked.

" Oh, no, just very talented, " I reply, voice smooth as silk. "And what interesting...antiques you have. They must not be from Kyngdom. Nothing old enough to be an antique could stay in this great condition here. Y'know, our climate, is, ah, like that."

The boy , Edan, looks slightly guilty. Meanwhile, the girl, Seri, appears angry.

"They are authentic," She said between clenched teeth , "I assure you. Now,.please, but something or leave."

I snap the book shut. "Edan, please put this back." I mutter. He stares at the picture of the wolf--Lunee?--for a moment before shutting it and taking it away silently.

"Now. As I've already said, buy something or leave. I don't have time for this." I snap. "Seri?" Edan's concerned voice asks from behind me. "If you're interested in the book, it's nothing more than a book full of pictures of fairy tale creatures. Angel wolves...like a thing could exist." I mutter.

"What she means is that anything and everything on the counter is for sale. Take a look." Edan corrects me as he returns minus the book.

As he smiles nervously at the bird, I silently rage. I hate Kyngdom.

Crystal ~~

"Did you just call Lunee a fairy tale creature?!?" I say . I am offended beyond belief. "Lunee is not a fairy tale creature! She is a divine being responsible for giving all creatures voice and beauty, and it you are not going to accept her as that, then you can leave Kyngdom! And I don't care if that's what you meant or not!"

The two humans take a step back. Edan looked terribly guilty , "We-we are deeply sorry that we offended --"

" did you just seriously freeze my booth!?! " Seri yelled. I look down. Frost has spread d ok my tiny feet.

A voice crackles into my tiny earpiece. "This is Resistance Spy Delta. Crystal, thing look a litlle heated over there. Are you in need of backup?"

Leave it to Delta to get all worried about me. He's my second in command. Even though he might be a little rull of himself at times , he's a good sph, and is serious when needed. He's a  small blackbkrd.

"Agent Delta, things are currently fine. Keep close, just in case," I say quietly , then turn back to Seri.

"I apologize, but perhaps you might have thought about the fact that some Kyngdomers and even some outlanders have magic in their blood. Especially before making rude comments like that. And if you're traveling here, I would have hoped you'd know that the Powers are real. The Powers are why Kyngdoms in conflict."
