~A frilled shark

Deep in an unknown world, something stirred.

Black against black in the darkness of the deepest depths of the sea.

It was so dark, not even one who could see in night would be able to see the instrument laying in the crevices of the mouth to a cave.

Yet a creature stirred.

This creature seemed to be blind, a haze of white covered their eyes. Yet as it swam closer, it could sense the power this instrument held. It could see a future where this instrument would hold the world in it's talons again.

It swam closer to the instrument. It's gills pulsed in and out, in and out, the strong sense of power growing closer at the second. The future of unlimited power flashed through it's mind, it's vision, and it knew that once it held the instrument in it's jaws, it's whole life would be impacted by it.

It would hold unlimited Power.

~A wolf

The time was near. We knew the time was coming. In our pack, we held a special power, in the form of an instrument.

The Guardian knew the time was coming, as she told. Soon the instrument would be played, in the lone voice of a wolf's howl, and a creature would emerge.

It was right. We knew now the creature inside was no evil. It was meant to fight the darkness that had overcome Kyndom, out forests, our lands.

It was time.

The Power of Howl must be released.

We must fight back to the darkness corrupting our world.

~Sylvia

In the forest, light streamed down into a valley, a small circular valley, peaceful with only crickets humming softly in the grass.

It was a hidden valley. No one of bad intents could get past the barrier of life and brair that protected the creature inside.

The creatures, actually.

Sylvia...and Sylvia's foal.

He had grown fast. Sylvia knew better then anyone else that horses weren't supposed to grow this fast. Yet here he was, Sylvia's foal, a little more then half the size of his mother.

But of course, her mother was not as big as she usually is, and a horn was missing from atop her head. Unlike her beautiful son, with a black horn that matched his hooves and reflected off his silver eyes.

He laughed and chased crickets in the sunbeams. Everything was beautiful. It was peaceful. The only thing Sylvia would ever care about was her son. The Powers didn't exist to her anymore. Her siblings were nothing in the light of a creature so pure.

He jumped into the air, snapping at a cricket, before falling down to his back, laughing. Sylvia smiled.

And then the brair surrounding the valley rustled, whispering slightly in the wind. Sylvia stood up, alarmed. So did her son, flicking his ears back at her. She neighed, stomping her hooves, and he looked back before coming to hide behind her flank, pawing the ground softly.

The whole barrier seemed to shake as a creature pulled itself through the end opposite her. It was a human. With icy-blond hair, strange blue eyes, like chips of ice, and striking white skin.

Sylvia blinked at her for a moment. This girl was all too familiar. "Celesti...?" She whispered in disbelief, taking a shaking step forward. "But...it can't be..."

The girl shook her head. "Sylvia, I am Icy. The descendant of the PowerFriend, your mother...Celesti.  I've come to tell you that the Powers are in grave danger. You are in grave danger. They need you."

~Catastrophe

Live was boaring for a boy king. Well, an old boy king.

He was yet to become king of this time, but his council was working on it. They were talking it out. Which Catastrophe thought was stupid. Why couldn't they just take it over with violence? It was faster.

Though he remembered that wasn't how he first earned the rule of Kyndom. He remembered in order to rule, he had to gain the respect of the people.

The boy king sighed.

He reached up to where his bird, the magnificent creature who was drawn to Catastrophe and his power, his hunger for war, was perched. The bird was gazing out the window, as he often did.

"Hello, Enyo. Do you wish to fly today?" He called, brushing his fingers through the large bird's feathers.

The bird looked down at him with his usual 'I'm better then you' expression, before looking back up at the window. Catastrophe smiled, adjusting his position on his uncomfortable throne to look up at the bird. "That was a yes, I presume. No bird in it's right mind would surpass a chance to fly."

He stood up and offered his arm to the large bird, about the size of an overgrown hawk. The bird glanced at him, before stepping onto his arm. His surpiroty almost matched the way Catastrophe felt. Except, Catastrophe really was supiorer to everyone else. He was the only creature who had ever killed both a Sideaffected power and a Power. All of the Powers, actually.

And the only creature who would do it again. And destroy them for good.

He walked the bird to his balconey overlooking all of Kyndom. You could see the decoy forest, the towns around it, the main city of Kyndom, the ocean sparkling on the horizon, and even the Layberanth Tunnles far away.

His castle was hidden on a mountain streatching high over all of Kyndom. He was glad his sight was so keen, or else he wouldn't be able to see his land streaching all around him.

This castle was so well hidden or worshiped (whichever one was fine with him) that in the thousands of years that he had been gone, his castle had stayed up. Now his followers were replacing the old wood and stone, making it as perfect and stronge as it was a thousand years ago.

He opened the door and stepped up onto the balconey. He breathed in the air before lifting up his arm to release his bird.

It flew out into the air, the sun glimmering off of the firey red and yellow colors of the feathers. Of his bird.

His Song of War Bird.

~Whist

I slept in a cloud of mist. But my eyes were alert. Through them I watched Jaaws as a cricket, pirched silently in the cover of leaves. Our argument over the false Power of Howl was still fresh. Through another I watched my own back, so any surprise attacks wouldn't fase me. And through another, I watched the still forms of the Powers, controlled by both me and Jaaws.

I felt a shiver of joy at that. I controled the Powers now. Not Jaaws. Though if we hadn't worked together, neither would be able to control them. I guess that was the only good thing about working with a witch of a dragon.

And then, I saw I sight I haden't seen for a thousand years.

Through an owl watching the sky, I saw a bird the color of fire.

I sat up so suddenly I saw Jaaws head shoot up. "Enyo." I whispered out to the mist. "Enyo is back. Enyo has found us."

Hello Kyndom! Write as any one or all of your charries here. This thread is for making connections with other charries and the rest of Kyndom.

Some quick questions...what is Sylvia's foal's name? I just guessed on what he looked like and acted like.

Also Moonshadow, I hope I got everything about your pack right.

I don't currently know where Catastrophe is, this just seemed the most likley.

This is ment to move the plot foward, I have every right to RP as everyone I just RPed as. Scylla, if you ever come back, I'm sorry if you didn't want that to happen, but it's been a few months of you not responding and the plot must move fowards!

My booth. Did she seriously just freeze my--

It is funny, though. She really does seem to believe in this Lunee. And until this point, I was the only one here who was at all angry. Of course Edan's still trying to apologize, though. He'd never handle situations like this properly.

"Kyngdom is in conflict for many reasons, I believe. I doubt that one of them is the Powers. I do understand, though, that one of those reasons is an impostor who claims to be a boy king who lived many years ago. I understand religious beliefs, but if you believe that these Powers are a reason for war..." I reply, completely ignoring the bird's apology.

I'm satisfied with that answer, but it's still hard to keep myself from yelling. Unlike Edan, who, while still appearing guilty, has settled into a thoughtful silence. What is he--oh. Magic in their blood. Of course he would be thinking about that, of all things...

*shuffles awkwardly in, half-wincing* How long was I gone this time?

Rose~

"I--I don't know!" Sybill shouts, stepping back.

"Okay," I yell, and lead the way back, to a clearer row of stalls. Leather collars, blueberries, jam and wood carvings go nearly unnoticed by the few customers. They're all straining for a glimpse of the crowd around the Power.

Suddenly, the swarm hushes, and I hear something being announced.

"Did you hear that?" I ask Sybill.

"Yeah, the seller said before the bidding starts on the Power they want to sell some birds," she relays.

"Then I suppose it will begin soon..." I think for a moment. "I don't believe I can buy it. We haven't the money. But I can see if it's real. How does one tell?"

Crystal~~

"That's no imposter. At first, I too believed he was an imposter. But it turns out that the boy king must have been caught in some sort of rift or something and transported to our time. Oh, and if you really think the Powers are not a reason for this war, perhaps you should have done your research before you came here." I reply . My voice lacks the friendliness it once had.

My earpiece crackled, "This is Delta. I'm coming down to you, not only because your situation is getting heated, but because the Power right next to you is causing some issues."

The blackbird lands next to me. " Alright, alright? What's the issue, everybody? "

"Who are--" Edan begins.

I slam my fist on the countertop. "Look, I don't really care whoever he is right now. I just need you to buy something or leave." I have zero time for this, and the fact that that bird questioned the authenticity of my goods...well, I don't like that. At all. I'm not a great fan of those who see things for what they are, and maybe about a quarter of the goods on my table aren't copies or fakes.

"I'm not here to talk about the Powers or Kyngdom. It was a mistake to even bring those up around superstitious--" I bite back the word 'fools'.  "--people. I'm just here to sell some items, trade some items, and get money. Not deal with pesky little birds."

Edan actually looks slightly angry at me at this point. "I'm so sorry about her." He mutters under his breath.

Ahhh hello hello, sorry for disappearing!

Kimi~

Davina has just handed me a laser pistol. And suggested we steal a Power from a horde of pirates.

Yes!!! Things are getting EXCITING!!!

I stuff the pistol in my pocket and rub my hands together. "Okay, what's the plan?" I ask, grinning. "Distraction, or do we go straight on?"

"We don't want to start a stampede," Davina says. "But definitely a distraction."

"Yeah, those people wanting to pay aren't going to like it if we steal it."

~ ~ ~

Sorry for the shortness, but I've got a few other charries to write.

Selena~

We sold the birds. Now all that's left to get rid of is the Power. I've gotten some high bids, and now, Darya's growing ancy with all the waiting.

"I know you like to put on a show," she whispers in my ear, "but I see people eyeing us and you know what they're thinking."

"Yeah," I agree. "But the bids keep getting higher."

"Let's not be too greedy."

Arroyo leaps up onto the platform.

"Hey. Some of the booths around here are getting restless," she says, jerking her thumb backwards.

"Noted," I respond. "I guess we can be serious now that the chickens are gone."

Turning back to the crowd, I raise my voice. "Gather round, everyone! Prepare to be astounded! The Power of Hoof is here and waiting! Hailing straight from the icy north, this artifact has been included in many legends around Kyngdom...but no one has seen it in centuries--until now! It goes by many names, but the stories say the holder of this drum will possess great power, even over life itself..."

Darya hands me the drum, and I clutch it tightly, holding it up to the sky. It glints majestically in the sunlight.

"Bidding begins NOW, starting at nine thousand! Which one of you will become the new owner of one of Kyngdom's rarest artifacts?!"

Darya takes the drum again quickly, and my crew infiltrates the crowd as the frenzy of bidding truly begins.

Yikes, sorry I vanished!

Sybill~

I only half-hear Rose. I'm distracted by this strange, old-looking building. I don't know why, but something keeps drawing my attention to it.

"Hey Rose? Check out that old building."

"Sybill, what old building?"

"The brown one!"

~~ I was thinking this could be the Animals headquarters?

Davina~~

"Shoot. I didn't think the pirates would be in the crowd," I said, "This changes my entire plan."

"Um....Oh! Look over there! No--no, to your right! Your other right!"

My head swivels around, searching for what Kimi means.

"There! That booth, the one with the two birds perched on it. Looks like there's a pretty heated arguement going on! Maybe we could use it to our advantadge?" Kimi suggests.

"You know...that might just work..." I said. I don't normally tolerate people, but Kimi's not that bad.

It's okay, I'm far more guilty of that than you. Multiple offenses and such.

Rose~

"Hey, Rose?" Sybill yells over the clamor. "Check out that old building."

"What old building?"

"The brown one!"

I follow her gaze to a blocky, mud-colored structure about three stories high. I am unable to see into any of the windows, and many of them are barred, especially near the ground. Several faces pop up from the roof in irregular interval, none of them human. The odd thing, I realize, is that there are far more animals around this building than those surrounding it. In addition, several of them appear to be sporting the same black and white object around their necks.

"Let's go," I shout, and move to a nearby brick building across from the brown one. The mortar is beginning to crumble, which offers a perfect ladder. I am conservative in my climb, only going far enough to see over some heads before leaping back to the street.

"This way." I motion to Sybill, and we take a casual stride around the block, coming back on the other side, conveniently changing our direction to again be towards the Power stall. But we do not go all the way. Instead, I stop at the gate of an alley next to the brown building and quietly stab through the wood around the lock of the gate. We slip in as though we belong, and stand in shadow beside our destination.

It is slightly quieter here, so I lower my voice when addressing Sybill.

"Would you like me to knock? And what should we say if our purpose is asked after?"

Sybill~~

"Yeah, let's knock. If it's the Animals, we should say we're with the Resistance. And if it's not the Animals, we'll say we knocked on the wrong door." I tell Rose.

Rose nods. "Okay." She knocks gently on the door.

~~~ I'm out of ideas, so here's a little three sentence post.
Kimi~
We slink through the auction crowd, where people are shouting out numbers that grow at an alarming rate. My heart beats quickly, calm yet full of excitement at the prospect of stealing the Power of Hoof. We should be able to pull it off without dying...I think.
We approach the booth where the argument goes on. I flip through potential scenarios in my head and land on what rapidly becomes my favorite--we could stoke the flames and cause a ruckus...Yes, yes, I think that might work. We'd just need to be careful that the pirates didn't bolt--although, a diversion over here shouldn't appear to be an immediate threat to them.
I can hear the blackbird squawking loudly. "What's the issue, everybody?"
Oh, the issue's about to get a whole lot worse...
"Let's rile them up," I hiss to Davina, tapping my laser blaster subtly.
She nods, staring straight ahead. "We can get the crowd involved and distract the pirates."
"Are we going all out?" Visions of lasers blasting through booth roofs flash through my mind.
"All or nothing," Davina responds. Something tells me her idea to steal the Power was not a spontaneous one.
A few more whispered sentences and the scheme has begun. I shove my way over to the booth and interrupt the conversation. "Yeah, what's the issue?!" I growl loudly, startling the booth's occupants. The girl inside glances at us briefly in surprise, but her face quickly clouds with frustration and anger.
"Hey!" Davina barks, coming up behind me with her laser blaster in hand.
"I thought I told you to stay off my back!" I shout suddenly, whirling towards her.
"Hey!" interjects one of the booth's occupants angrily. "Get away from this booth!"
Davina aims her laser at the ground and fires. It creates a black mark on the ground that blows the dirt in all directions, and an even louder bang that shocks the surrounding crowd.
I growl and lunge for her, and she shoots the ground again. This time, the laser hits a rock and richochets towards the Power of Hoof booth, not according to plan. By now, a stampede is developing as people both surge away from us and gather around to spectate. They don't know which direction the blasts are coming from, and the air fills with clouds of dirt.
-not really familiar with Davina or Kimi, so I wasn't sure how to write this very well-
"Yeah, what's the issue!?" Those words, which were practically growled instead of spoken, would bring chaos to the next few minutes.
First, there was the chaos, and then the laser pistols. They shot them at the ground, charring the earth and sending dirt flying into the air and toward my stand. A wild laser strikes one of the pieces on the counter and shattered glass flies through the air.
I immediately reached under the counter for my own weapon, but it's not there. "Edan, where's the--" I began. Edan looks guilty, again. "I had to hide it. There was a customer that--"
I yanked my head up toward the chaos again. A laser had struck near the mob surrounding the Power Of Hoof, and they began screaming. "Dangit, Edan, just get the gun." I snapped. Edan's eyes flashed with anger for a moment, in a single we're going to have a talk about this later moment. We've had a lot of those Seri you've gone too far moments.
Then Edan is gone and I'm left staring at the violence and the chaos over the counter (and the wreckage of a counterfeit piece I had spent days making). I was vaguely aware of the fact that I was yelling at them, and yelling something probably more offensive than a death threat, but I didn't care.
With the unmistakable glow of lasers piercing the air, the screaming of the crowd, a few wrecked pieces, and charred earth and dirt flying through the air, how could I care? It was just a slight bit (translating to far too much) of yelling at complete. Idiots.
Davina ~
Kimi's anthro raccoon tail swishes just in time to avoid being blasted by my lasers. I'd aimed it just below her tail, but an elbow caused my shot to miss.
Kimi gives me a small smile.
Suddenly the owner of the booth, a girl, raises a gun. "Watch it!" She yells.
Kimi gives me a look. She fires the laser at the base of the booth. It hits the wood, breaking it and causing the booth to collapse. The wares fall off, many breaking. The girl yells and throws a mirror at Kimi. Kimi blqsts it, but the laser ricocheted off and struck nothing other tyan the leg of one of the pirate.
"Oh. My. Claaws," She says . The pirates launch themselves at the crowd, unaware that Kimi shot tyem. "Now!" I hiss .
Kimi darts through the crowd as I cause more distractions via lasers. The girl shoots at me, and I duck behind a random crate. I fired at her, but missed, and instead hit one of the people in the crowd.
"Oh well," I sing , "what the heck." The person I shot fell down , screaming.
The guards rushed over. Kimi slid next to me, holsing out nothing other than the Power of Hoof. "Yes! Let's get out of here, now!"
that was when the guards saw us.
