~A frilled shark
Deep in an unknown world, something stirred.
Black against black in the darkness of the deepest depths of the sea.
It was so dark, not even one who could see in night would be able to see the instrument laying in the crevices of the mouth to a cave.
Yet a creature stirred.
This creature seemed to be blind, a haze of white covered their eyes. Yet as it swam closer, it could sense the power this instrument held. It could see a future where this instrument would hold the world in it's talons again.
It swam closer to the instrument. It's gills pulsed in and out, in and out, the strong sense of power growing closer at the second. The future of unlimited power flashed through it's mind, it's vision, and it knew that once it held the instrument in it's jaws, it's whole life would be impacted by it.
It would hold unlimited Power.
~A wolf
The time was near. We knew the time was coming. In our pack, we held a special power, in the form of an instrument.
The Guardian knew the time was coming, as she told. Soon the instrument would be played, in the lone voice of a wolf's howl, and a creature would emerge.
It was right. We knew now the creature inside was no evil. It was meant to fight the darkness that had overcome Kyndom, out forests, our lands.
It was time.
The Power of Howl must be released.
We must fight back to the darkness corrupting our world.
~Sylvia
In the forest, light streamed down into a valley, a small circular valley, peaceful with only crickets humming softly in the grass.
It was a hidden valley. No one of bad intents could get past the barrier of life and brair that protected the creature inside.
The creatures, actually.
Sylvia...and Sylvia's foal.
He had grown fast. Sylvia knew better then anyone else that horses weren't supposed to grow this fast. Yet here he was, Sylvia's foal, a little more then half the size of his mother.
But of course, her mother was not as big as she usually is, and a horn was missing from atop her head. Unlike her beautiful son, with a black horn that matched his hooves and reflected off his silver eyes.
He laughed and chased crickets in the sunbeams. Everything was beautiful. It was peaceful. The only thing Sylvia would ever care about was her son. The Powers didn't exist to her anymore. Her siblings were nothing in the light of a creature so pure.
He jumped into the air, snapping at a cricket, before falling down to his back, laughing. Sylvia smiled.
And then the brair surrounding the valley rustled, whispering slightly in the wind. Sylvia stood up, alarmed. So did her son, flicking his ears back at her. She neighed, stomping her hooves, and he looked back before coming to hide behind her flank, pawing the ground softly.
The whole barrier seemed to shake as a creature pulled itself through the end opposite her. It was a human. With icy-blond hair, strange blue eyes, like chips of ice, and striking white skin.
Sylvia blinked at her for a moment. This girl was all too familiar. "Celesti...?" She whispered in disbelief, taking a shaking step forward. "But...it can't be..."
The girl shook her head. "Sylvia, I am Icy. The descendant of the PowerFriend, your mother...Celesti. I've come to tell you that the Powers are in grave danger. You are in grave danger. They need you."
~Catastrophe
Live was boaring for a boy king. Well, an old boy king.
He was yet to become king of this time, but his council was working on it. They were talking it out. Which Catastrophe thought was stupid. Why couldn't they just take it over with violence? It was faster.
Though he remembered that wasn't how he first earned the rule of Kyndom. He remembered in order to rule, he had to gain the respect of the people.
The boy king sighed.
He reached up to where his bird, the magnificent creature who was drawn to Catastrophe and his power, his hunger for war, was perched. The bird was gazing out the window, as he often did.
"Hello, Enyo. Do you wish to fly today?" He called, brushing his fingers through the large bird's feathers.
The bird looked down at him with his usual 'I'm better then you' expression, before looking back up at the window. Catastrophe smiled, adjusting his position on his uncomfortable throne to look up at the bird. "That was a yes, I presume. No bird in it's right mind would surpass a chance to fly."
He stood up and offered his arm to the large bird, about the size of an overgrown hawk. The bird glanced at him, before stepping onto his arm. His surpiroty almost matched the way Catastrophe felt. Except, Catastrophe really was supiorer to everyone else. He was the only creature who had ever killed both a Sideaffected power and a Power. All of the Powers, actually.
And the only creature who would do it again. And destroy them for good.
He walked the bird to his balconey overlooking all of Kyndom. You could see the decoy forest, the towns around it, the main city of Kyndom, the ocean sparkling on the horizon, and even the Layberanth Tunnles far away.
His castle was hidden on a mountain streatching high over all of Kyndom. He was glad his sight was so keen, or else he wouldn't be able to see his land streaching all around him.
This castle was so well hidden or worshiped (whichever one was fine with him) that in the thousands of years that he had been gone, his castle had stayed up. Now his followers were replacing the old wood and stone, making it as perfect and stronge as it was a thousand years ago.
He opened the door and stepped up onto the balconey. He breathed in the air before lifting up his arm to release his bird.
It flew out into the air, the sun glimmering off of the firey red and yellow colors of the feathers. Of his bird.
His Song of War Bird.
~Whist
I slept in a cloud of mist. But my eyes were alert. Through them I watched Jaaws as a cricket, pirched silently in the cover of leaves. Our argument over the false Power of Howl was still fresh. Through another I watched my own back, so any surprise attacks wouldn't fase me. And through another, I watched the still forms of the Powers, controlled by both me and Jaaws.
I felt a shiver of joy at that. I controled the Powers now. Not Jaaws. Though if we hadn't worked together, neither would be able to control them. I guess that was the only good thing about working with a witch of a dragon.
And then, I saw I sight I haden't seen for a thousand years.
Through an owl watching the sky, I saw a bird the color of fire.
I sat up so suddenly I saw Jaaws head shoot up. "Enyo." I whispered out to the mist. "Enyo is back. Enyo has found us."

Hello Kyndom! Write as any one or all of your charries here. This thread is for making connections with other charries and the rest of Kyndom.
Some quick questions...what is Sylvia's foal's name? I just guessed on what he looked like and acted like.
Also Moonshadow, I hope I got everything about your pack right.
I don't currently know where Catastrophe is, this just seemed the most likley.
This is ment to move the plot foward, I have every right to RP as everyone I just RPed as. Scylla, if you ever come back, I'm sorry if you didn't want that to happen, but it's been a few months of you not responding and the plot must move fowards!

Probably, although I'd always imagined a strange amount of colorful flowers as well, and lots of ponds, rivers, lakes and streams.
(August 26, 2018 - 3:31 pm)
There are a lot of forested areas. That's probably accurate to at least one of them.

The crowd was getting wilder.
The girl could hear people screaming out numbers. They were larger than anything she had in her pocket to pay with. That left one option.
Theft. She could steal it from the buyer, or somehow cause a distraction...taking it from whoever bought it seemed to be the easiest option. But how?
The crowd pressed in on her. She was a single still figure in a sea of moving, yelling people. That--
Some others, possibly interested buyers, surged forwards through the crowd, knocking the girl down. She sighed as she picked herself up, elbowing those around her to avoid being trampled by the many there.
As she stood up, her eyes met another pair. It was one of the desert-landers for sure--the cloth around their face and their clothes gave everything away. They grinned, for just a moment, their expression saying one thing: I know something you don't know.
Then they were gone, leaving the girl to wonder how she was supposed to steal a Power.

Rose~
Mer is more lovely than I remembered. Its shops and spires fairly glow in the afternoon sunlight, a bright flower of geometric details settled in front of a glittering sea. At least from afar. Up close, it's a tangle of colorful, chaotic streets full of people and wares. I have already been forced to discourage more than one pickpocket with threats to their thumbs.
Sybill stifles a cry as someone bumps into her, throwing her still-healing ribs into my armor.
"Hey, watch it," I growl at them. They don't even look at me, but there's too much going on for me to take great offense.
"Are you certain you wish to walk?" I ask Sybill, raising my voice to be heard over the chatter and not-so-distant music.
"Yeah," she shouts back. "Hey, what are those?"
She cuts through the flow of the crowd to a stall on the left filled with oddly shaped bits of metal. I struggle to follow her, but once close, I see that the scraps are shaped into sculptures, primarily animals. Sybill is now exploring the tables full of insects and birds, watched by the apparent owner, a middle-aged human man.
I take a cursory look around, wander about. When I get near Sybill, I whisper, "Don't look at me. Pretend you don't know me. I want to see if the shopkeeper knows anything."
"What does that have to do with knowing me?" she asks.
I stoop to inspect a stand of spark plug butterflies. "It's safer."
"But I want this one," she says. I'm carrying the money.
I discreetly place a few coins on the ground. "Don't pick these up right away. Meet me at the octopus vendor."
I straighten up and approach the owner.
"Hello."
"Hi, how can I help you?" the man smiles.
I gesture at the sculptures. "Did you make all these?"
"I did. Have you taken a fancy to anything?"
"Perhaps," I shrug. "The craftsmanship is impressive. You have a fine touch."
"Thank you."
"Where do you do your work?"
"I have my workshop up near West Whetston," he says, waving vaguely northwards.
"Whetston? That's quite a long way," I remark.
He nods agreement. "I come for the flea market when I can. I had to this year, of course."
"The Power of Hoof," I guess.
"Bingo!" he grins. "Everybody's after it."
"I pity whoever buys it," I say. "They'll spend a fortune on it, and then it'll either turn out to be a fake or get stolen, or both."
"Would you pity whoever steals it?" he inquires. Something in his voice, or perhaps his look, tells of a conspiracy. I tilt my head and play along.
"If it isn't real, yes. But even then, it could turn a nice profit if you know who to talk to."
"And I suppose you do?"
"Heavens, no," I say, winking.
He winks back. "There's a blessing. A young lady such as yourself shouldn't go fooling about with thieves outside the Red Horse Inn after midnight."
"And so I shan't," I reply sweetly. "By the way, how much for a butterfly?"
"Twenty credits," he says. "But for you, eighteen."
I smile pleasantly, inwardly pondering that he chose the number of my age, and leave with a silver-winged spark plug.

Sybill~
I wait at the octopus vendor, pretending to look extremely intrigued by a very delicious looking plate of kalamari. A small welded cricket made of silverware rests at my paws.
Rose approaches. I walk towards a small, slightly less crowded place rather close to the octopus man, and that is where Rose walks up to me.
"Where to next?" I ask. " Do you want to try to find the Animals? Or the Power of Hoof? "
Rose pauses. "Why don't we look for the Animals, and see if we can spot the Power on the way?"
" Okay! " I say. I trot in front of her, after she picks up the silver cricket and slips botj it and a winged spark plug resembling a butterfly into her pouch.
We pass a woman selling exotic flowers, another selling delicious baked goods. I beg Rose to stop, and we end up buying two lemon cookies (Safe for animals!) and eating them.
The taste of lemon and sugar is still in my mouth when we find the absolute, most crowded stall of all.
It's the Power of Hoof.

Whisper~
A behemoth of a man comes in through the entrance flap. In his hands is a thin club, kind of like a rolling pin with one thicker end. I shy away from him as he comes towards me, but the chain around my neck keeps me from getting fully away from him, just as it keeps me from shapeshifting out of this dreadful place. He raises his club, but just then another man enters.
"Amos!" The second man shouts. He is tall, young, lean, clean-shaven, and over dressed. A great contrast to the hulking thug with the club. the second man stalks up to Amos. "How many times do I have to tell you! Although she is resistent and dangerous, you have to refrain from breaking her. She is our star attraction, must I remind you! The Winged Night Beauty! When will you get that through your thick skull!" Amos pushes the frailer man aside and places the club on its rack. His rough, underused voice grates in my ears.
"Ron, you can't keep protecting her. She's bound to do something sometime. Sooner or later you'll ease up more than you already have-" Both of us slant our eyes at the giant. "And she'll get loose and kill us." I writhe, my bound hands chafing against their chains.
"You can bet your dirty face I'll kill you, Amos! I might spare Ron, but it isn't likely." Ron's face turns smug despite my threats. I hate Amos more because he used to lash me with a nailed, kangaroo-hide whip. I still have scars on my bare back from those lashings. Amos reaches for the club again and growls.
"We should gag her. We really, REALLY should." Ron puts a finger under my chin, but I turn my head away from him. Ron smirks.
"And ruin her pretty face? Never." Amos rolls his eyes, which Ron catches and returns with a venomous glare. "It would be bad for buisness." Ron hisses.
"Uh-huh." Amos mumbles under his breath as the two men exit the tent. When I am sure they are gone, I flop to the dirt floor and mumble curses under my breath, silently planning Ron's and Amos' demise in my head.
~~
Ta-daaah! Hope you like it! Just a note, Whisper is wearing some sort of crop-top and a peice of long cloth tied around her waist. I assume such clothes would be considered almost naked in Kyngdom? I want that to be the vibe being forced onto her, and I want her to hate it. An almost naked beautiful freak. She need and wants to be saved from this.

Kimiko ~
I wrap the bandages around my elbow furiously. How dare Aliaza betray us like that?
Machali gentlh taps me on the shoulder. "Let me help," He says . I blink, and then look at the terrible job I did bandaging myself.
I hold out my cut elbow and Machali gently wraps the small, thin bandage around it, much better than I had. '
"Thanks," I say . He nods, and we both stand up. Moonlight stands nog too far away, watching the rather...exotic...people walk by in their fanch clothes and wild colors.
Moonlight, "Well....why don't we try to find something to eat, and then get outta here?"
"Alright," I assent . We walk towards a large tent. Not too far away is a baked goods booth--
"Oh, where are you going, fine cybernetic lady? Have you fome to sell your purple eyed panther and fishboy for our show?" An overdressed man says , smiling. I recoil.
"Sell them? That's disgusting and inhumane! They're my friends, not tools!" I shout . He forwns for a second, before masking his face with a rather obviously fake smile.
"Have a look in my tent! Perhaps after you see my lovely...attractions, you will feel...inclined to sell to me," The man says . I am about to refuse, bug he grabs my non-metal arm rather tightly and pulls me forwards. A giang of a man follows Machali and Moonlight.
We enter a large tent. There are several cages, and metal posts with creatures chained to them. I clap a hand to my mouth in horror.
"Oh my Claaws," Machali whispers . His face is wide-eyed with shocl and horror.
"This can't be legal, these people are monsters," Moonlight hisses quietly .
We get to their star attraction, the Winged Night Beauty. A girl perhaps a year older than me sits on the ground, chained to a post by her neck, hands bound. On her back are two rather gorgeous black wings. However, she looks underfed and abused, there are scars on her back and her ribs are showing.
She glares at me. She wears only a crop top and ripped up shorts barely reaching her mid-thigh. There is a thin, bloodstained cloth tied around her midriff. Poor thing.
I give Machali and Moonlight a look that says we are to free this girl, no matter the cost.
Machali gives me a small nod.
"Action!" I suddenlu shout. The two men give me odd looks , and while they are caught off guard, Moonlight and Machali spring at them, spears and claws raised.
I rush towards the girl. I bend down and whisper to her, "I'm going to get you outta here."

When Kimiko yells "Action!" Machali and I spring at the guards. My claws unsheath and I spring onto the larger guard. Machali draws his spear and swings it at the other guard. I scratch him and he stumbles back. I hiss.
"Whoah there kitty!" He says grabbing a club. "Calm down! Nice kitty"
"Not today" I say and pounce on him again.
"Ron!" he yells "A talking cat!"
"Get her Amos!" Ron yells before he he gets knocked out by Machali's spear.
Suddenly Amos swings his club around and I crouch low but It's an exact his with Machali in the forehead wich sends him crashing into a wall and landing slumped.
I see Kimiko trying to cut the chains off of the girl with no sucsess. suddenly Amos hits me in the side and sends me sprawling. he hit me in just the right spot to stop me from attacking him. I don't know what happened next. I just blacked out

I am walking with Nakai after we closed our booth for a it, being sure to leave an illusion that we are playing cards in the back of course, when a girl elbows me roughly in the ribs and snarls in my face "Watch. It."
Nakai puts his hand on my shoulder as I step away from the girl and her companions "S-Sorry" I notice that one of the girls is holding herself at the angle of someone who has a few broken ribs. "A-are you okay Miss?" I say to her.

We near the booth, when Rose snaps, "Watch it!" at a ginger haired boy and a middle-aged man. " S-sorry, " The boy says, with the air of someone rather nervous. He looks at me. It must be rather obvious that I have injuries, as he asks, still nervous, "A-are you okay, miss?"
" I'm perfectly fine, " I reply. My voice comes out as rough and hoarse. Whoops. I had meant to sound gentle and forgiving. I adjust myself into a position that makes it less obvious I'm injured, and fail to hide a wince.
"Um, sorry. I didn't mean to sound, uh, rude," I say quickly . My tail curls and uncurls awkwardly.
The older man nods subtly. "We'll be on our way, now. Sorry for bothering you."
"Wait," Rose says. I can tell she's trying to see if they know anything .
The older man, "Yes?"
Rose, "Who are you? I'm just curious. I thought I might have seen you earlier."

The temptation is driving me insane. Literally, I fear. My ribs--healed? It's almost too good to be true....
Or, it actuallys is too good to be true. Rose gives me a small, subtle shake of her head. I pause, slow down, and think.
He could be like Ma'ind. Acting so kind so gentle....and in the end, attempting to toss you off a cliff. Or like Ciaran, acting friendly and silly, but in the end, turn out to be horrifically insane and then burns you and the surrounding mile of forest. Or like the spider spirits, tricking you, and then...
I squeeze my eyes shut. Yin. Poor, sweet innocent Yin. She didn't deserve to die. Not like that. She was a healer. Just like this boy.
"N-no thank you," I stumble , my voice cracking.

I struggle with my bonds as a girl tries to cut through them. Our progress is minimal, if not nonexistent.
"It's no use, the only way is to get Ron's keys and unlock the chains." With a jerk of my head I gesture towards Ron. The girl nods and runs towards the young man. After tackling him, she puts a dagger to his throat.
"The keys for the Winged Night Beauty, if you don't mind." She growls. He scowls, but gives her the keys. She runs back to me, sheathing the dagger.
"Which one first?" I point to my neck, then one particular key. Ron and Amos both wince. The lock clicks and the chain falls off. I make my wrists shrink a bit and they slip right out of the bonds that hold them. To keep from looking weird, I make them their normal size again. The girl's eyebrows go up, but she doesn't wait to throw herself back into the fight. I let my anger seethe for a second as I single Amos out. He's creeping up behind the panther. I let pitch black fur cover my body and soon a giant, winged, black wolf stands in my place. Amos raises his club, exposing his chest. I launch myself off of the ground, and catch him by the throat. He cries out, and I rip him open before he has a chance to swing his club. One down. The panther nods in appreciation, and I nod back before leaping onto a soldier's back. He swings his sword up and over his head, nearly cutting off my head. I rake my claws down his spine. He howls and crumples to the ground. I stalk around the edges of the tent, looking for Ron. I snarl when I see him. He's grappling with the girl who freed me.
"So, you came back to finish me off, eh?" He spits in the girl's face. "Shoulda done that when you had the chance. Now I can call Amos. He'll squash you like a bug, ha ha!" I shift back into my normal human form.
"Actually, no, you don't. I spilled his guts right over there." Ron whirls around to face me, his handsome face deathly pale. His nailed whip quivers in his hands. Before he can strike me, I bat my eyelashes at him, and his knees go weak. "So much for you though." I say sweetly, and the girl smirks. Ron makes a mad dash for the exit and the girl lurches forward to kill him, but I stop her. "He'll spread the word. No one will dare cross us now." She smiles, and I look around. The soldiers are either dead or have run away. I step over the bodies to Amos' corpse. In his pocket is a pleasently bulging purse. I open it. Gold and platinum. I smirk and show it to the girl.
"Wow. You really are a star." She runs her fingers through the metal.
"Nah. It's just that rich people don't have anything better to do with their lives." She laughs.
"I'm Kimiko, by the way. The panther is Moonlight, and the other girl," Kimiko gestures to another girl I had not noticed before. "Is Machali." I nod.
"I'm Whisper. Thanks for getting me out of there." Kimi beams.
"No problem!" Behind her, Machali stares at something beside her and raises a hand.
"Um... Actually, there is a problem..."
~~

Machali ~
"Um...Actually, there is a problem...."
kimiko, Whisper, and a recently-awake Moonlight turn to look at me.
"What?" Kimiko asks . I point. They all turn around, and there stands a huge, giant, wolf-beast. Not quite a werewolf, not quite an anthro.... Behind the beast is an open cage. The keys rest right in front of the door.
It must have reached its clawed hand through the bars and snatched the keys!
"Oh. My. Claaws." Kimiko says . The things is huge, towering at least a foot above Kimiko.
Kimiko's sword begins to rattle, and suddenly, a ghost with coffe skin and lots of raspberry colored fins, spots, and tentacles, springs out of it, doing a fancy twirl in the air.
She turns around to look at Whisper. "Hello! I'm Pani! And no worries about the giant wolf, I have an kdea!"
Pani uncaps a black, steaming hot potion. she splashes it onto the wolf's face.
It howls and writhes on the floor as its skin and fur bubble --literally bubble - and scorch.
Pani, " Thank me later! Come on, follow me!! " Pani glides away, the rest of us following on foot, as the fishy ghost leads us away from the tent.
