~A frilled shark
Deep in an unknown world, something stirred.
Black against black in the darkness of the deepest depths of the sea.
It was so dark, not even one who could see in night would be able to see the instrument laying in the crevices of the mouth to a cave.
Yet a creature stirred.
This creature seemed to be blind, a haze of white covered their eyes. Yet as it swam closer, it could sense the power this instrument held. It could see a future where this instrument would hold the world in it's talons again.
It swam closer to the instrument. It's gills pulsed in and out, in and out, the strong sense of power growing closer at the second. The future of unlimited power flashed through it's mind, it's vision, and it knew that once it held the instrument in it's jaws, it's whole life would be impacted by it.
It would hold unlimited Power.
~A wolf
The time was near. We knew the time was coming. In our pack, we held a special power, in the form of an instrument.
The Guardian knew the time was coming, as she told. Soon the instrument would be played, in the lone voice of a wolf's howl, and a creature would emerge.
It was right. We knew now the creature inside was no evil. It was meant to fight the darkness that had overcome Kyndom, out forests, our lands.
It was time.
The Power of Howl must be released.
We must fight back to the darkness corrupting our world.
~Sylvia
In the forest, light streamed down into a valley, a small circular valley, peaceful with only crickets humming softly in the grass.
It was a hidden valley. No one of bad intents could get past the barrier of life and brair that protected the creature inside.
The creatures, actually.
Sylvia...and Sylvia's foal.
He had grown fast. Sylvia knew better then anyone else that horses weren't supposed to grow this fast. Yet here he was, Sylvia's foal, a little more then half the size of his mother.
But of course, her mother was not as big as she usually is, and a horn was missing from atop her head. Unlike her beautiful son, with a black horn that matched his hooves and reflected off his silver eyes.
He laughed and chased crickets in the sunbeams. Everything was beautiful. It was peaceful. The only thing Sylvia would ever care about was her son. The Powers didn't exist to her anymore. Her siblings were nothing in the light of a creature so pure.
He jumped into the air, snapping at a cricket, before falling down to his back, laughing. Sylvia smiled.
And then the brair surrounding the valley rustled, whispering slightly in the wind. Sylvia stood up, alarmed. So did her son, flicking his ears back at her. She neighed, stomping her hooves, and he looked back before coming to hide behind her flank, pawing the ground softly.
The whole barrier seemed to shake as a creature pulled itself through the end opposite her. It was a human. With icy-blond hair, strange blue eyes, like chips of ice, and striking white skin.
Sylvia blinked at her for a moment. This girl was all too familiar. "Celesti...?" She whispered in disbelief, taking a shaking step forward. "But...it can't be..."
The girl shook her head. "Sylvia, I am Icy. The descendant of the PowerFriend, your mother...Celesti. I've come to tell you that the Powers are in grave danger. You are in grave danger. They need you."
~Catastrophe
Live was boaring for a boy king. Well, an old boy king.
He was yet to become king of this time, but his council was working on it. They were talking it out. Which Catastrophe thought was stupid. Why couldn't they just take it over with violence? It was faster.
Though he remembered that wasn't how he first earned the rule of Kyndom. He remembered in order to rule, he had to gain the respect of the people.
The boy king sighed.
He reached up to where his bird, the magnificent creature who was drawn to Catastrophe and his power, his hunger for war, was perched. The bird was gazing out the window, as he often did.
"Hello, Enyo. Do you wish to fly today?" He called, brushing his fingers through the large bird's feathers.
The bird looked down at him with his usual 'I'm better then you' expression, before looking back up at the window. Catastrophe smiled, adjusting his position on his uncomfortable throne to look up at the bird. "That was a yes, I presume. No bird in it's right mind would surpass a chance to fly."
He stood up and offered his arm to the large bird, about the size of an overgrown hawk. The bird glanced at him, before stepping onto his arm. His surpiroty almost matched the way Catastrophe felt. Except, Catastrophe really was supiorer to everyone else. He was the only creature who had ever killed both a Sideaffected power and a Power. All of the Powers, actually.
And the only creature who would do it again. And destroy them for good.
He walked the bird to his balconey overlooking all of Kyndom. You could see the decoy forest, the towns around it, the main city of Kyndom, the ocean sparkling on the horizon, and even the Layberanth Tunnles far away.
His castle was hidden on a mountain streatching high over all of Kyndom. He was glad his sight was so keen, or else he wouldn't be able to see his land streaching all around him.
This castle was so well hidden or worshiped (whichever one was fine with him) that in the thousands of years that he had been gone, his castle had stayed up. Now his followers were replacing the old wood and stone, making it as perfect and stronge as it was a thousand years ago.
He opened the door and stepped up onto the balconey. He breathed in the air before lifting up his arm to release his bird.
It flew out into the air, the sun glimmering off of the firey red and yellow colors of the feathers. Of his bird.
His Song of War Bird.
~Whist
I slept in a cloud of mist. But my eyes were alert. Through them I watched Jaaws as a cricket, pirched silently in the cover of leaves. Our argument over the false Power of Howl was still fresh. Through another I watched my own back, so any surprise attacks wouldn't fase me. And through another, I watched the still forms of the Powers, controlled by both me and Jaaws.
I felt a shiver of joy at that. I controled the Powers now. Not Jaaws. Though if we hadn't worked together, neither would be able to control them. I guess that was the only good thing about working with a witch of a dragon.
And then, I saw I sight I haden't seen for a thousand years.
Through an owl watching the sky, I saw a bird the color of fire.
I sat up so suddenly I saw Jaaws head shoot up. "Enyo." I whispered out to the mist. "Enyo is back. Enyo has found us."

Hello Kyndom! Write as any one or all of your charries here. This thread is for making connections with other charries and the rest of Kyndom.
Some quick questions...what is Sylvia's foal's name? I just guessed on what he looked like and acted like.
Also Moonshadow, I hope I got everything about your pack right.
I don't currently know where Catastrophe is, this just seemed the most likley.
This is ment to move the plot foward, I have every right to RP as everyone I just RPed as. Scylla, if you ever come back, I'm sorry if you didn't want that to happen, but it's been a few months of you not responding and the plot must move fowards!

Selena Evadere~Mer, Southeast Kyngdom:
We departed from Paralia's waters and set our course straight towards Mer. The wind, as usual, was not in my favor, which is why we left early with the intent of arriving in Mer a few days before the flea market is to begin.
On the way out, while I was steering us out of Dagger Bay, we almost smashed into a hidden rock that I could've sworn wasn't there when we arrived--but Darya stole the wheel and swerved us out of the way just in time.
Now everyone thinks I'm clumsy at the wheel.
It takes us a few days to get to Mer--days that are spent navigating the uncooperative ocean, trying to survive the final moments of a small hurricane, and thinking of a place to dock the ship.
"So, Captain, what's the plan?" Darya asks me at sunset. We'll be at Mer in less than a day.
"Plan?" I echo. "I guess we'd need a plan. Well, for one, we're docking at the port," I declare.
"Really?" she asks in disbelief. I guess she figured we'd hide the Thunderbird again like we did at Paralia.
"Yep," I respond, staring off into the stilling waters, which glow orange as the sun sinks below the edge of the ocean. "I want eeeeeeeveryone to know we're there."
"Alright...," Darya says slowly. "And I know you told me you already sent for a space."
I nod, waving. "I've got all that taken care of. Don't worry."
I hear a whistle from up above and see Goji, my parrot, coming in from his afternoon flight. His iridescent feathers glisten as if on fire as he passes over the glowing waters, finally coming to a landing on my shoulder.
"Laaand hooooo," he trills, and I grin, looking back the way he came. In the morning, Mer will be in our sights.

Davina~
"Which direction is Mer?"
I pause.
" Um. It's to the...southeast...so...uh... "
"You don't really know, do you?" Kimi says.
"Acfually, " I say, "I do. It's that way." I point to the direction I was walking in. " I've been using a compass. "
"Ah." She remarks , looking at my compass as I hold it up.
~~~
I don't really know what to write for Davina. Sorry! But here's Star--
Star~
We've finally made it.
My heart pumps with excitement as we set up our booth. Finally! The flea market will be starting in a few more days, and it will last a week. I wonder who I'll see. I wonder what will happen.
"Um, Star? Could you help?"
" Sorry! " I say, broken out of my daydreams by none other that Mother. We set up the small booth, and then place out our goods. I sit on a stool behind the wooden booth, and watch the early customers and fellow merchants arrive.
My eyes freeze on what looks like a fishboy and cyborg girl standing together. Those were the ones who had the right with the lab coat girl on the path. I notice the panther trailing behind them, but the black-haired girl is missing. Weird.
Okay, so I have no idea if Mer is in the southeast or southwest; in my above RP post I said southwest but now I think it's the southeast??
(...Moral of the story: If you're trying to get anywhere in Kyngdom, don't let Hazel lead the way.)
Kimi~
"Um. It's to the...southeast...so...uh..." Davina says slowly.
"You don't really know, do you?" I ask, one eyebrow shooting up.
"Actually, I do. It's that way." Davina points southeast. "I've been using a compass."
"Ah."
Davina holds her compass up for emphasis. I stare at it for a second (it's very shiny), cock my head, and nod assuredly.
"Well, you're off to a good start, but if we want to get there before they sell that Power, we'd better hurry up," I say, passing Davina as I break into a walk.
"Wait, what?" Davina asks. I turn around.
"Oh, and you can put that compass away; you don't need one with me around." I tap my forehead. "It's all in here. Come on!"
(July 22, 2018 - 2:34 pm)
"Connie -- ow -- ow!" Rustling and scuffling echoed out from the side of the Thunderbird-drawn carriage, where two pale feet were stepping over Aviance and sticking over the side. "Connie, no, we're almost there!"
"I know!" The blonde girl called back, only stopping for a moment's hesitation to admire the ground six feet below before leaping out of the sandy wooden seat where blankets sat piled underneath her for comfort on the long drive from -- well, wherever they'd been. She'd honestly lost track ever since they'd been kicked out of Sailhaven.
Her bare feet hit the sandy ground and clouds of dust puffed up and pooled around her ankles as Aviance screamed,
"CONNIE!" The younger girl threw back her head and laughed, lifting her feet to run beside the carriage as it jerked forward and the Thunderbird flapped its wings again. The rough sand felt good on her feet, scraping lightly against the ever-present callouses littering the soles.
"Cornibus Salvator Ales, you get up here this instant!" Connie sighed and paused her train of thought, tilting her head up to see her best friend yanking on the reigns. "How do I get him to calm down?" She yelled.
Connie laughed and peered up at David and Vol in the back seat, where boxes and packages were piled on top of the boys as they sighed. The ride from Resistance headquarters had been a long one, and since the four were planning to have a booth, they'd had to lug piles of bursting parcels the whole way.
"Just tell him to fly. It'll be a nice break for him. I promise he'll listen, I told him to." Connie shouted back, out of breath from the running, feeling the piercing dagger of a cramp in her side and relishing every moment of it. Oh, to run free! They hadn't gotten out since the Ball, and being cooped up in HQ made her head hurt. Even the stinging of a rock scraping blood from the side of her foot was almost awesome.
Crashing ensued above, and Connie looked up to feel a rush of wind and a cloud of dust as the Thunderbird beat its wings and the carriage rose above the ground. Aviance yanked on the reigns and Connie grabbed the wheel and scampered back up to her seat just as they took off, boxes bouncing and all laughing. Connie settled back and looked over at Aviance again.
"Why the hell," Avi muttered, "am I driving this thing?" The four laughed and looked ahead across beautiful Mer.
"Hey, look!" Vol said suddenly. "Is that it?" Far off and below them lay a crowd of dark blobs.
"I think so!" David answered. The carriage bounced and shook, and Vol looked almost sick. Connie couldn't relate. She loved it.
Oh, how wonderful the wind felt on her face! Connie admired the rushing greens of trees and glimmering blues of the water as the flew by, coming closer and closer to the market. She looked over at Aviance again a little sheepishly and got up to her knees as the older girl whipped around.
"What?"
"Nothing," Connie lifted her arms in protest.
"Connie-"
"Whew-weeeeeeeee!" The blonde girl cried, pushing off and tumbling out of the carriage again, arms lifted high in joy and hurtling towards the ground, sky-blue wings engaging and beating once, twice, three times. She laughed at the three little heads poking out of the car as she shot back upwards and flew ahead, hollering at how great it wad to fly. She swooped low as the crossed a peninsula that dipped into a bay and let her fingers grace the water, spraying her in the face as she giggled. Connie peered ahead to what was now clearly a crowd of caravans and booths and people milling about.
"There's a great big open space there, Avi!" Connie yelled out behind her. "Land there."
"How do I--"
"Just point, and he'll go," she explained, twirling in the air and shooting out towards the ground. She veered out of the way and watched as the carriage swooped down closer and closer and over that last tree and then finally, finally, hit the ground with a bounce and a crash. Connie followed quickly, letting the tips of her toes meet the sand gracefully, wings falling lightly to her sides. Aviance pulled backward with as much might as she could, and they skid a few more feet before finally coming to a stop.
Connie ran over to the carriage and burst out laughing at the sight of her harried friends. She helped them out of the carriage and motioned at the commotion bustling around them.
"isn't it beautiful? We're finally here!"
Selena Evadere--Mer, Southwest Kyngdom:
Swoosh...CRASH...swoosh...CRASH...
The sound of waves beating the shores in the distance is nearly drowned out by the chatter of the surrounding crowds. The Thunderbird creaks as it inches closer to dock, one ship among many, adorned in clean white sails and masts that tower higher over the rest.
Mer is mere feet away from us, and with the market due to begin in a few days, the streets are crowded--the port even more so.
We dock where there is room, and I gather my crew up. "The flea market's going to start in a few days. I never told you what we traded with the northern pirates--" Darya smirks-- "but long story short, we've got a booth here and we're selling the Power of Hoof."
"The--" Arroyo begins.
"The real one!" I exclaim, eyes wide, and I swing my hat down onto my head for emphasis. "It cost us a lot. Remember that. So anyway, listen up: Arroyo, Darya, and I need to go finish secruing our booth and all that junk, so stay here until we get back. After that, you're all free to go do whatever you want, but I want two watching the ship at a time. You can trade off every hour. Dress your best--remember, you're representing the crew of Captain Phantasma."
The crew nods, and Arroyo and Darya step to my side.
"Okay then. See you all later." I whistle for Goji, and he swoops over from the edge of the ship, feathers glistening. The three of us let down the rope ladder and prepare to disembark. But just before she clambers onto the ladder, Darya murmurs something. "Look, Captain."
I glance to where she's pointing and spy a thunderbird drawing a carriage off in the distance. My brow falls and I nod, showing that I've seen the potential danger. "But I'm sure there are a lot worse things we've got to worry about down there," I mention.
"Of course," she agrees. "But that's why you've got me."
We descend one by one and the ladder is pulled up by unseen hands.
"Well, you're off to a good start, but if we want to get there before they sell that Power, we'd better hurry up," Kimi says, walking past me.
" Wait, what? " I say.
"Oh, and you can put that compass away, you don't need one with me around!" Kimi taps her forehead , "It's all in here. Come on!"
She walks away.
I catch up to her, and as we walk, say, "Did you say 'we'? As in, 'we' are going to the market?"
she nods. "Yep. After all, were both going to the same place, and I can get you there better than your compass can!"
I want to argue , but she has a point. I hold my tongue and follow her as we walk through the forest.
We make camp for the night in a small clearing in the woods. We split some berries we found that both Kimi and I agree are most definitely rasberries. I manage to get a small fire going, and its almost peaceful. I wonder why she would just decided to come with me like that. After all, we barely know each other.
“Odin’s underpants,” Kristjan exclaims under his breath.
I tear my eyes away from the chaotic spread of the flea market to give him a confused look.
“Odin’s underpants?”
He gives me a crooked smile. “All I could think of in the moment.”
I shake my head and turn back to the market.
We were standing on a hill outside of Mer, looking down on the city. The ocean butted right up to the buildings, looking almost as if it was sneaking in on the metropolis. The sharp smell from the sea wafted in on a breeze, and I could hear the cry of gulls even from here.
But even though the ocean was beautiful, my eyes were glued to the commotion inside of the city.
The Flea Market was huge, sprawling out of the main square and through the streets. The colors of the various stalls and wares clashed and battled against each other for dominance. The hawking of the vendors was almost as loud as the gulls on the docks.
“Ready to go in?” I ask.
“You betcha.”
~
Twenty minutes later we’re standing in the market. The sights, sounds, and smells are chaotic, and I try not to go into sensory overload.
It reminds me of market week in SailHaven, Kristjan thinks to me.
I smile and nod. We had gotten better at mental communication. Now he just had to project a thought in my direction(so to speak), and I would hear it.
Cobalt trots around our legs as we walk, and I try not to lose him in the crowds. He had travelled with us from the Resistance base to Mer, as any other automatons would have attracted too much attention. Even then, we had gotten plenty of stares whenever we ventured into a town to replenish supplies.
My eye is caught by a vendors stall selling old machine parts. I immediately veer off in that direction, tugging Kristjan along with me.
The owner of the stall was just finishing up a deal with a customer as we walked up. Nodding satisfactorily at the amount of money that exchanged hands, he turns to us.
“And you miss,” he says in a heavy northern accent. “Do you like machinery?”
I reach out with my metal hand and pick up a delicate and hand molded valve head. The man’s eyes widen as he takes in my mechanical arm, his face showing his ashtonishment.
“Yes,” I say. “Yes I do.”
Welcome back Connie!!! We missed you!!!
