Hello, it's me
Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board
Hello, it's me
Hello, it's me again!
This is my first thread, and it's going to focus on my charrie Lycaella, her mom and her friend Nygrune. It's for following our adventures while we're not in a place or situation covered by another thread. 'We' because Ronan has asked to be Nygrune, to which of course I said yes.
Someone (I think Icy) said that B.I.G. and Catstrophe actually dislike each other. It makes sense, so... Just to let you know.
I'll begin where I left off on the Underwater Ball thread, with Lycaella and Nygrune planning to do some spying of a sort. They've asked Lycaella's mom to show them her notes, so I'll fast-forward to that.
Lycaella~
"Oh, so you're giving them their shadows back?"
We are sitting on a rug in my mom's room, reading her notes. I can't make sense of half the words, but she tells Nygrune and I what it means. Apparently, Catastrophe has found a way to separate shadows from their owners' bodies, and to keep him from creating a shadow army and destroying everything, B.I.G. has been researching it. They've managed to figure out how he did it, and are testing ways to reattach the shadows to their owners.
"Well, that's one way of putting it," my mom says. "We believe it will be beneficial to all of Kyngdom."
"I don't really understand this one... How would they sew them back on?" I ask.
"I believe it's with a special sort of thread, Ella," Mom says. "Let's see now..."
Nygrune finds it first. "A needle made from the bone of a magic or mythical being, preferably with thread also made from a magical material."
"Yes," my mom says, "Although personally I think that a binding spell shows more promise." I raise an eyebrow. She doesn't usually like magic this much. Out of nowhere, I yawn. Mom and Nygrune look at me like I'm disrupting something.
"Sorry," I say. "I'm getting kind of tired. You two can keep reading, I don't mind."
My mom nods. I hear her calling after me as I leave the room.
"Remember to brush your teeth!"
~End RP.
It actually is getting kind of late, so I should go. I hope this works out.

Just a heads-up: I'm going to be reading the entire Lord of the Rings series including the Hobbit as quickly as I can, which I've calculated to be roughly 26 hours, so I might not be as active as usual in the next few days.
(January 9, 2018 - 9:16 pm)
(Wow, that's a lot of reading! LotR and The Hobbit are the best though. I bet you'll like them.)
(January 11, 2018 - 10:06 am)
Yep! I've read the Hobbit twice before. I missed the first day of reading, but making good time. I'm on the Fellowship of the Ring already.

I'm just going to get straight to the part where Norah heals Hazel. I have a few ideas about how she does it--
1. She uses plain ol' elf magic, like how Etoile did.
2. There's a flower (like the Brazen Goo flower) that instead of weakening Powers weakens Sideaffected ones. Norah happens to have one and hypno-Hazel reacts to it negatively; Norah uses it.
3. ???
But we can decide all the 'hows' afterwards. I just want to get Hazel back to normal so we can continue onwards.
----------
Hazel~
The darkness begins to recede.
I can feel it rolling away like steam, tearing itself away from the fabrics of my being and dissipating into nothingness. It's kind of painful--actually, very painful--but also relieving at the same time, like a cool breeze on a muggy day.
Gradually I become aware of my surroundings. My vision clears, and my senses become more vivid. I can wiggle my fingers.
Soon enough, my thoughts begin to awaken, and, like a crashing wave, thunder in on my consciousness. Where am I? How long was I out? How did they get Jaaws out of my head?
But there's still a nagging feeling within me, like a rusty hook in my side. As Jaaws's hold on me weakens further I hear a dull roar in the back of my ears, and feel anger welling up inside me. Some of it's my own--I'm tired of being a puppet.
I'm tired of being your puppet.
nO! dO nOt LeT tHis hApPen...
Something jabs my consciousness--Jaaws is now fighting for a hold on me.
For a few moments I'm battered back and forth, and a searing pain slices through my skull. For just one heartstopping moment I catch a glimpse of mist and darkness, and what feels like a cavern of endless evil is opened up within my head.
Then I'm brutally ripped away from the vision, and I tumble away from it with the feeling of oily scales scraping against my side.
Seconds later--though it feels like an eternity has passed--my eyes snap open and I see my friends before me, as well as a few unfamiliar faces.
I laugh, feeling lighter than ever. "Guys, it worke--"
But the rush of excitement and freedom can't drown out my exhaustion, and suddenly, I pass out again.
-------------
Sorry to end on another Hazel-is-asleep-again. I have to go to bed now, though; otherwise I'd continue. Anyone can continue with Hazel waking back up. She'll be feeling disoriented and odd, but will recover quickly with some time.

Norah makes potions, so she could use that. Is that what you meant by elf magic?
(January 11, 2018 - 11:19 am)
I thought it was more like spells created by elves, but maybe. I wonder if non-elves could use it, too?
(January 12, 2018 - 11:52 am)
Hazel falls back asleep. I knew this would happen—she’s so exhausted after fighting for consciousness (thanks to my awakening spell) that she can’t take it quite yet.
”Oh, great,” Nieke says sarcastically. “Jaaws got in her head again.”
”Not quite,” I say back. “She is just exhausted, that’s all. Jaaws hasn’t gotten her back yet. That means we have to act fast.”
I quickly conjure up a potion that will fully awaken her and fully bring her back to consciousness. “This should work!” I exclaim, and Genesis hoots excitedly.
”Trixie, hold her mouth open.” She does this and I slowly pour the potion into Hazel’s mouth.
“Drink up,” I whisper.

Sorry this was so short! I just want Hazel to decide if she wants to wake up or not.

Hey, it’s Laeta! From oh so long ago? No?
No one? Cool!
Anyway, I was wondering if she could meet up with Lycaella again some time and have a renunion. Maybe she can help her with whatever?
(January 12, 2018 - 8:23 pm)
Laeta! *tackle hugs*
You're back! It's been ages, oh my Claaws. Lycaella could use a little adventure, I'll admit. She's back in New Windswood. You know what's going on?
(January 12, 2018 - 9:24 pm)
Yeah, I’m caught up.
I think to make up for the lost time, I’m going to say she went on a spy mission or whatever, and the way she looks has changed over time, and she’s also matured over time. She still hasn’t lost her interest in gadgets though. XD
So, I’m guessing Lycaella is 15 now, and they were the same age, so Laeta is about 15 too. I never made a charrie sheet for her, so I will in the Who’s Here? thread.
Maybe Laeta shows up at Lycaella’s door step, and has a proposition or mission or something?
(January 13, 2018 - 10:23 am)
Oh, it's only been a month or two in-story. But that sounds great!
(January 13, 2018 - 1:06 pm)
Hazel~
The potion slips down my throat and I swallow involuntarily. With a gasp, I’m wide awake. My team surrounds me.
“Feeling better?” the blue-haired girl asks.
“Yeah…,” I reply slightly disorientedly. “Although that depends on what you mean by better. Um...my mind feels a lot better. Thank you.”
Trixie and Nieke look at Norah questioningly, as if wondering whether or not Jaaws is truly gone from my head.
“As long as she stays awake for a few more hours she’ll be okay [Author’s note--I think that’s how this works?],” the girl replies assuringly.
“What’s your name?” I ask her.
“Norah O’Brien. And this is my owl, Genesis."
“I’m Hazel Coryli. Thank you for saving me.” At least, I’m pretty sure Norah is the one who cured me--I mean, she is holding a potion bottle. But thanks to the huge gaps in my memory, I don't really know anything about what happened before this moment.
“I’m Ben,” says the unfamiliar boy.
“He’s my brother,” Trixie explains.
“Ah. It seems I’ve missed a lot,” I say. I have so many questions I’d like to ask--how they knew I was hypnotized, what happened while I was under, etc--but it’s a little hard to focus when I’m tied in the back of a rickety wooden cart, not to mention the exhaustion I feel in my limbs. “Erm...could someone perhaps untie me?”
------
I don't really know what else to write at this point. I'll let your charries decide if they want to untie her or not. I also wasn't sure if Norah had more plans for healing Hazel, so I kept the post short.
Maybe they could set up camp somewhere after all this is sorted out? I was thinking that might be a good time for Norah and Ben to join the Elites [if they still want to].
(January 13, 2018 - 10:36 am)
Nieke~
Trixie, Ben and I exchange glances.
"Maybe nut until we know you're good," I jump in. "It was a pain in the tail doing all that the first time, and it won't be easier if you're trying to kill us all the while."
~Sorry this is so short, I don't know how anyone will respond to that and I didn't want to risk controlling.
(January 13, 2018 - 1:11 pm)
It’s foolish.
I think this is Lycaella’s address, and I stand there like an idiot at the door, still thinking and thinking whether or not I should knock. Does she even still live here? Didn’t she join the Resistance?
I give a couple taps on the door and adjust my coat against the bitterly cold wind.
I hear shuffling and then the door unlock, before it slowly opens to reveal Lycaella.
“Laeta?”
I smile, and her eyes widen.
“Oh my Claaws, Laeta! Hey!”
She gives me a quick hug before we walk inside.
“Um, please, make yourself at home. Wow! I can’t believe you’re here, it’s been forever!”
“I know,” I reply. “It definitely feels that way.”
She pours me a cup of tea before we sit in her kitchen.
“So, how’s the spy work?” Lycaella asks as she pours herself some tea.
“Fine, thank you,” I reply with a nod. “I have a longer break before going on a mission...and that’s why I came to you.”
She sits across from me and takes a sip. “I’m listening.”
I exhale. “So. I’m just going to start with the whole ‘it’s dangerous and you’ll be risking your life.’ Now let me explain. Basically, the division of the Resistance that controls spy missions has given me an assignment, to steal the Sword from Catastrophe. They gave it to me because I think outside the box or whatever, and for this one, they need someone with the ability to not trust or listen to anyone. That’s why it’s landed on my plate.”
At this, Lycaella snickers, and I continue. “They told me I could choose a partner. Usually I like working by myself, but I realised that it’d be even better if I brought you too. Everyone else in my division is stupid...argh! those empty headed idiots! I can’t bear to work with them.”
“I’m glad I’m not an idiot,” she says with a smile but also a raised eyebrow.
Oh dear, have I offended her? I can’t tell. Gosh, sometimes my brain needs to detect human emotions and sensitivity.
“Of course you’re not,” I try to correct. “You and I are perfect for this mission. I know this is all sudden, but I don’t care.”
Shut up! C’mon Laeta.
“Er...what do you say?” I end on a gentle note, crossing my fingers underneath the table.
(January 13, 2018 - 4:34 pm)
What, no, I had a whole thing written out and it disappeared...! Oh, well. I'm still excited though, you captured Lycaella perfectly!
Lycaella~
I almost say yes.
"When?" is what I ask. "I would love to, but my mom is coming for a visit tomorrow and I don't want to hold you back."
Laeta looks a little crestfallen. "Oh... Sure. No, I can wait a couple days."
I suddenly feel guilty. "You don't have to, of course."
She shakes her head. "It's fine. It'll give us time to catch up."
"Do you need a place to stay? There's a spare room upstairs, I can make it up for you." Her house still hasn't been rebuilt after the attack two months ago.
She nods. "That would be great, thanks."
"All right, then," I smile. "My mom will only be here a day and a night, so we can leave overmorrow."
"Overmorrow?" Laeta asks.
"The day after tomorrow," I explain, feeling like a word nerd.
"Oh," Laeta smiles. "That's easier to say, overmorrow."
I laugh, relaxing. The guilt starts to recede.
~Sorry if I controlled. This is amazing and exciting and I'm so happy you're back! I hope you're okay with not running off to the mission right away. I think something interesting is about to come up...
