Kyngdom Survival Guide

Hello, it's me

Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board

Hello, it's me

Hello, it's me again!

This is my first thread, and it's going to focus on my charrie Lycaella, her mom and her friend Nygrune. It's for following our adventures while we're not in a place or situation covered by another thread. 'We' because Ronan has asked to be Nygrune, to which of course I said yes.

Someone (I think Icy) said that B.I.G. and Catstrophe actually dislike each other. It makes sense, so... Just to let you know.

I'll begin where I left off on the Underwater Ball thread, with Lycaella and Nygrune planning to do some spying of a sort. They've asked Lycaella's mom to show them her notes, so I'll fast-forward to that.

Lycaella~

"Oh, so you're giving them their shadows back?"

We are sitting on a rug in my mom's room, reading her notes. I can't make sense of half the words, but she tells Nygrune and I what it means. Apparently, Catastrophe has found a way to separate shadows from their owners' bodies, and to keep him from creating a shadow army and destroying everything, B.I.G. has been researching it. They've managed to figure out how he did it, and are testing ways to reattach the shadows to their owners.

"Well, that's one way of putting it," my mom says. "We believe it will be beneficial to all of Kyngdom."

"I don't really understand this one... How would they sew them back on?" I ask.

"I believe it's with a special sort of thread, Ella," Mom says. "Let's see now..."

Nygrune finds it first. "A needle made from the bone of a magic or mythical being, preferably with thread also made from a magical material."

"Yes," my mom says, "Although personally I think that a binding spell shows more promise." I raise an eyebrow. She doesn't usually like magic this much. Out of nowhere, I yawn. Mom and Nygrune look at me like I'm disrupting something.

"Sorry," I say. "I'm getting kind of tired. You two can keep reading, I don't mind."

My mom nods. I hear her calling after me as I leave the room.

"Remember to brush your teeth!"

~End RP.

It actually is getting kind of late, so I should go. I hope this works out.

Laeta, if you're still here, do you want to make a stop at whatever forest Blazing Star or Sylvia is in?

Sure! And sorry to intrude on a segment/story I’m not a part of, but I think that Ètoile was a half elf, half human. Not sure though.

Okay! And yeah, she is, but I don't think Nieke knows that.

So I just read through the thread where Icy and Eliyana Fur were unhypnotized (oh, the nostalgia! We need to RP the Powers more). The event took place at FaFA's base.

Basically they were being kept in cages until a cure could be found, but the cages exploded and the hypnotized people escaped. There was an epic battle in which lots of others were hypnotized, and during the battle Icy cured herself by distracting Jaaws's presence somehow; she then grew fairy wings and was suddenly immune to Jaaws's effect. I believe it had something to do with her PowerFriend abilities.

Eli cured herself out of sheer determination.

As for everyone else who got hypnotized, Jaaws simply stopped controlling them because she had so much to focus her attention on.

Also, apparently Catastrophe didn't kill Celesti under his own free will. On this thread it says that Jaaws controlled him and made him do it, although Catastrophe didn't know it.

Here's the link to the thread if you want to read it for yourself: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/kyngdom-rp/node/233138

Also, while I was reading through those old threads I found some useful info on Jaaws that the Elites might find useful one day.

"There was a rumbling and a slithering, scraping sound. Then, out of the ground erupted Eico. "There is no way to make that side-affected Power go away from their minds. She hast to release them. Or...."

"Or what?" Claaws growled.

"Lunee is the Power of Howl, but she is also the Power of Light. She could cure them of Jaaws."

Lunee. Lunee. Why Lunee?! "No. Never. There hast to be another way."

"If you ever want your Arctic fox apprentice back, this is your only solution."

Claaws sighed, glancing down to watch Eli rake her claws across her tail. "Fine."

Then we must find Lunee."

And now we know that elf magic helps against Jaaws too.
And then there's this fight scene between Elliot and Jaaws:

"Elliot staggers forwards. Blinding light explodes in my vision, and I stumble backwards. He's really getting tired now. I can feel his thoughts receeding from my mind. He's about to black out....But so am I...

He yells out loudly, panting as he falls to his knees. Does he know what he's just done? He's subdued Jaaws; subdued the monarchy of evil! He fully exits my head. I am free.

What...? I'm blinking quickly, shredding the stone walls to keep my body from shutting down. My thought process is growing hazy. What...Am I free? I can hardly register the thought. Jaaws can never be contained. But there I was, vulnerable. He must have a strong light in him. But he couldn't stand against me. There must've been something keeping him from killing me...

My vision blinks once, and I suddenly know. I can feel the rift, now that I know it's there. The Powers...They were once great friends in an untainted friendship. After Claaws deserted, the rest grew unsettled and they slowly changed from innocent to having a darker side. They are what keeps me immortal. Only they can kill me. Only the creators can destroy the creation. But Elliot and others have the power to subdue me. I must keep a check on entering strong minds. I flee the area, creating a strong distance between me and the body of Elliot. He should be waking up soon, and I want to be far far away. The Brazen Goo can wait. I need to hide.

So even though non-Powers can't exactly kill Jaaws, they can definitely weaken her a lot.

Oh, wow. That's amazing. Let's see if we can get the information in-story, RP going around to different places and asking for information, maybe attracting foes and having a few narrow escapes along the way to spice it up. Scenery descriptions, supply problems, maybe even interpersonal conflicts. And no unexplained foreknowledge! Solve the puzzle. Build the world. Sound like a movie trailer. XD

Trixie was in the tunnels, so we could start with something from that. Also, Trixie and Ben have to kick off the whole Shield thing. I'm going to try to write tonight.

I'm sorry for not posting for so long! Better late than never though, right? I hope this makes sense, it's late and I'm super out of practice writing.

~Trixie~

“She was an elf, right?” Nieke said. The group paused for a moment.

“I don’t actually know.” Trixie said. “I never really got to know her. Maybe half-elf?” There was a murmur of tentative assent.

“So elf and half-elf magic.” Hazel said. “Does anything else work? Wasn’t there some kerfluffle in the labyrinth tunnels?”

“Yes!” Trixie said. “There was the whole thing with Little Crow! I can call Charlie. I haven’t tried since the beach that one day. Any other leads?” Trixie’s phone rang. She pulled it out of her bag and glanced at the caller ID.

“Speak of the devil. It’s Charlie. I’ll be back in a bit.” She stepped away from the group and picked up.

“Hi, Charlie!” she said.

“Hey, Trixie! I’m sorry it took so long to call you back, I couldn’t get into my voicemail for some reason. What’s up? It’s sounded important in your message.” Charlie’s voice came over the phone.

“Yeah, you could say that. How well do you remember the labyrinth tunnels? More specifically, how well do you remember what happened with Little Crow?”
“He was-” Charlie’s voice cut out suddenly. It was replaced by Trixie’s father’s voice, which sounded worried and urgent. Trixie knew what this was. Automatic Override, a function built into all Woods family phones. When someone activates it, all of the phones would stop what they’re doing and connect to the phone that had activated AO. It meant that something had gone very bad, very fast. Trixie heard Ben excuse himself from the conversation and pick up his phone.

“Trixie, Ben, we need to talk now.” Trixie’s father said.

“I’m here.” Trixie said.

“Dad, what is going on?” Ben said.

“We don’t know what happened, but- are you in a private place?” Trixie and Ben both walked farther away from the others.

“We’re good.” Ben spoke for both of them.

“It’s the Crown. We’ve received info that somehow someone managed to make it lose its power. We don’t know how, who, why, or when. All we know is that security needs to be way higher. We-” Their father hesitated for a fraction of a second. “We might need to move it. I know it would be better if we could keep it in the family, but there’s only so much we can do. Especially with the little kids, we can’t put them in danger. You two are counted as adults, so you also get a say. We need ideas.” Trixie and Ben reeled a bit a the news.

“We- ah- I-” Trixie was at a loss of what to say.

“Trixie, don’t you have some friends that might be able to help?” Ben said, “Some organization you used to be part of? If they’re big enough they might be able to help. I would say the Elites, but they’re pretty small.”

“The Resistance?” Trixie said, “I haven’t been in contact with them lately. I have no idea what they’re up to. They might work though. They were allied with B.I.G. before it broke up.”

“We have to put that behind us. B.I.G. may have had… problems, but they don’t even exist anymore, and if it takes a former ally of theirs to protect the Shield, we need to do it. Do you have a way of contacting them, Trixie?” Dad said.

“Yes.” She replied. “I never really was part of it though. I mean, I was a member, but I left before doing anything. I don’t trust them enough to give to much away.”

“Keep it anonymous then.” Mom’s voice cut in. “Tell them you know where it is, but you need proof that you can trust them.”

“I guess.” Trixie was still skeptical. “We should have several other back up plans though. What do you think Miriam?”

“I agree with you.” Trixie’s oldest-younger sister’s voice was soft. “You’ve been doing this longer than I have. Keeping it anonymous and trying to find other solutions doesn’t seem to have a draw back. Should we wait to make a final decision though?”

“No.” Mom’s voice was firm. “We don’t have time. We have so little info, for all we know they could be coming for us now. If we can all agree I think Trixie should send the message.”

“I’m in.” Said Ben.

“We don’t really have another option.” Dad said. “Trixie, send the message while the rest of us think of more ideas.” Trixie slipped her phone in her pocket and pulled out a notepad and pen from her bag. She thought for a while and finally wrote:

Dear Resistance member,

I might not agree with you on all principles, but I do think you’re at least roughly on the right side. I received information that the Crown was put in danger recently. I’m assuming you know what Crown I’m talking about. You have the ability to protect the other Artifacts*. I don’t know whether you would though. I know where the Shield is. I could put it in your hands. I have little to no reasons to trust you with it. Give me a reason, and I could help you with your fight against Catastrophe.

-Guardian of the Shield of Battleclaw

“It’s not like I’m for Catastrophe. “Trixie mused aloud as she tore the note out and folded it up. “I would love to help take him down anyway.” She put away the notepad, and pulled out her Cypher. Glancing around, she found a nearby bird.

“Hey.” She said, using her Cypher. The bird looked at her.

“I need some help.” She said.

Several minutes and Cyphers messages later, it was worked out. Trixie was lucky enough to have found a Resistance-sympathizing bird, so it wasn’t too hard to convince it to send them a message. Trixie gave it the paper, and it flew off.

“There goes nothing.” She said.

~end rp~
*Are the Crown, Shield, and Sword the Artifacts collectively? I wasnt sure what their group name was.

Trixie just sent out the message to the Resistance about the Shield, so we can start that part of the plot. I don't know if you're following this thread, so I wanted to make sure you saw this.

Yeah, I suppose they could be called the Artefacts.

And the Crown’s not in danger...not anymore at least.
