Kyngdom Survival Guide

Hello, it's me

Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board

Hello, it's me

Hello, it's me again!

This is my first thread, and it's going to focus on my charrie Lycaella, her mom and her friend Nygrune. It's for following our adventures while we're not in a place or situation covered by another thread. 'We' because Ronan has asked to be Nygrune, to which of course I said yes.

Someone (I think Icy) said that B.I.G. and Catstrophe actually dislike each other. It makes sense, so... Just to let you know.

I'll begin where I left off on the Underwater Ball thread, with Lycaella and Nygrune planning to do some spying of a sort. They've asked Lycaella's mom to show them her notes, so I'll fast-forward to that.

Lycaella~

"Oh, so you're giving them their shadows back?"

We are sitting on a rug in my mom's room, reading her notes. I can't make sense of half the words, but she tells Nygrune and I what it means. Apparently, Catastrophe has found a way to separate shadows from their owners' bodies, and to keep him from creating a shadow army and destroying everything, B.I.G. has been researching it. They've managed to figure out how he did it, and are testing ways to reattach the shadows to their owners.

"Well, that's one way of putting it," my mom says. "We believe it will be beneficial to all of Kyngdom."

"I don't really understand this one... How would they sew them back on?" I ask.

"I believe it's with a special sort of thread, Ella," Mom says. "Let's see now..."

Nygrune finds it first. "A needle made from the bone of a magic or mythical being, preferably with thread also made from a magical material."

"Yes," my mom says, "Although personally I think that a binding spell shows more promise." I raise an eyebrow. She doesn't usually like magic this much. Out of nowhere, I yawn. Mom and Nygrune look at me like I'm disrupting something.

"Sorry," I say. "I'm getting kind of tired. You two can keep reading, I don't mind."

My mom nods. I hear her calling after me as I leave the room.

"Remember to brush your teeth!"

~End RP.

It actually is getting kind of late, so I should go. I hope this works out.

They don't have full info on it. Also, if you think about it from the point of view of people trying to protect it, it's in a lot of danger.

Yeah, maybe. I think it depends on whether you're talking about the Crown itself or its power, which I'll remind you has been drained and given to Ocean of Mer.

Lycaella~

I break the silence first. "So, you know where everything is... My mom should get here around ten tomorrow. She'll stay the night and then leave around eight."

Laeta nods. "Okay."

I slide off the bed. "Good night!"

"Good night," Laeta replies. I smile and leave, swinging around the doorway into my room. I drift off happy, with a new mission to accomplish and a friend down the hall.

~

Nieke~

"I don't actually know. I never got to know her. Maybe half-elf?" Trixie suggests.

"Yeah, maybe."

"I don't know, I wasn't there."

"She seemed like it."

"So half-elf and half-magic," Hazel muses. "Does anything else work? Wasn't there some kerfuffle in the labyrinth tunnels?"

"Yes!" Trixie exclaims. "There was the whole thing with Little Crow! I can call Charlie. I haven't tried since the beach that one day." Her phone rings just as she finishes.

"Speak of the devil, it's Charlie. I'll be back in a bit." She walks into the bushes to take the call.

"Were you in the tunnels?" I ask Hazel.

"No, but Trixie was," she replies. She's about to continue when Ben's phone rings. He pulls it out and glances at it.

"Sorry, I've got to take this." He follows Trixie off the path.

"So, what happened down there?" Norah asks.

"Did she tell you?" I add.

"I don't know everything, but the gist of it is that Jaaws got down there and attacked a party of explorers. They managed to escape unpossessed and unhypnotized, so there could be a lead," Hazel explains.

I nod. We stand in awkward silence for a moment before Ben reappears.

"Hey. Trixie has to send a message, but she'll be back in a minute."

"Okay."

"Sure."

"All right."

A few minutes later, she does.

"Hi, I'm back. What are we talking about?"

~Laeta, you want to take the next round for you and Lycaella? Everyone, sorry if I controlled or made any mistakes. Just tell me if I did and I'll try to fix them.

Mexi says icoz! You cause a lot, Mexi.

I actually like being controlled a little!

Hazel~

"So, what happened down there?" Norah asks curiously.

"Did she tell you?" Nieke adds.

I rake through my memories. "I don't know everything, but the gist of it is that Jaaws got down there and attacked a party of explorers. They managed to escape unpossessed and unhypnotized, so it could be a lead."

Nieke nods, and silence falls upon the three of us. I think back to what Trixie told me about the labryinth adventure. It sounded awful. All the same, I wonder why Jaaws was there in the first place. What could the adventurers have had that she wanted? Was she just causing trouble? Or was there a more sinister reason for her presence?

Soon Ben emerges from the forest, jolting me out of my reverie. "Hey. Trixie had to send a message, but she'll be back in a minute."

"Okay," I respond.

It takes a few minutes, but Trixie finally returns. "Hi, I'm back. What are we talking about?"

"Still the labryinth tunnels," I reply. "Did you happen to ask Charlie about them?"

---------

Agh, I literally added one sentence to the plot. I would've added more but I need to go. (School again! This is what I get for RPing in the morning.)

Oh, good.

Nieke~

Hazel replies. "Still the labyrinth tunnels. Did you happen to ask Charlie about them?"

Trixie looks at her blankly for a second, then responds. "Oh, no. The call got interrupted. Sorry."

"That's okay," I assure. "So, can you tell us what happened? In the tunnels? Especially with Jaaws."

~Three sentences! A start.

My pseudo-achievement has been utterly destroyed! And everyone seems determined to keep it that way! (In other words, wow, it got really busy today.) I'm not sure how I feel about that, either, but I think it's excited.

Lycaella~

The night passes quietly, thank Claaws, and the morning slips in clear and gold. I wake up before Laeta and go downstairs to start breakfast. I'm not very hungry yet, but my stomach will wake up soon enough, so I decide on pancakes. That's always a good way to start an adventure.

It's almost eight when Laeta comes down, still rubbing sleep from her eyes. I smile.

"Good morning! I made pancakes. They're just plain, but there's butter and blueberries to go with. Do you want milk or orange juice?"

"Orange juice," she replies, finding a place at the table.

"Coming up!"

I set us each a plate of buttered pancakes and blueberries and a glass of juice. Oxia skitters onto the table, and I greet her with a kiss.

"Tell me when you're awake and we can figure out what to tell my mom."

~And I don't know what Laeta's like first thing in the morning. Lycaella has concocted a loose sketch of a story, something about this is my friend, we go/went to school together, she helps me with computers, her house got bombed so she's staying with me for a while. Her mom isn't nosy, but it's good to have a backup plan.

Two weeks?! This must be fixed. I shall write.

...What shall I write about. Let's see, Rose/Karune is with Sybill, and that's staying on another thread. Nygrune is the same way at the ball. Lycaella is at home, and I don't want to control Laeta. Nieke is with the Elites, but there's nothing new to cover and I'm not sure how to advance.

Well, darn. I guess I'll just go RP Rose, then. Maybe I could copy-and-paste everyone's adventures here...

1...2...3...TOP!!!

*elephants pull on thread*

Come on...to the top...*pulls with all of might*

*snaps fingers* Aha. Why don't I just RP?

Hazel~

Trixie goes into depth about her experience in the labyrinth tunnels, and we all listen intently. She tells us about the journey deeper, and how Jaaws followed them from behind. She explains about the hypnotized explorers and how Jaaws terrorized everyone in the final cave.

Once she pauses, I ask about Little Crow, Icy, and Eliyana Fur Pawprint. "Did they ever get cured?" I wonder.

Trixie shakes her head, at a loss. "They disappeared midway through. I think they were eventually cured...but I didn't ever find out how."

"Disappeared, huh," I mutter. "I wonder where they went. We should try to find out as much about that as we can."

We continue discussing the labryinth, picking the story apart as best we can for clues.

"It sounds like Jaaws was in there before all of you were," Nieke points out.

"But Trixie said the labyrinth door was the only way in," Ben responds, "and it had been closed for a long time before Charlie and Little Crow found it."

"Maybe there was another way in," Norah offers.

Trixie is doubtful of this, making the point that it would have to be big enough for Jaaws to squeeze through. And the expedition team didn't find any dragon-sized off-branching tunnels, though there were plenty of smaller ones.

Nieke's eyes widen. "Aha! You know what this means!" she exclaims.

"What?"

"Around what month was all this?" she asks.

Trixie gives the answer and suddenly I catch on. "Oh. That's from before anyone knew Jaaws existed. No reliable witness account ever goes past then."

"So," Nieke says, sitting back and looking pleased, "that's where Jaaws comes from."

Chip says, "Yine!" That was a good try; you almost said vine! Or maybe he's trying to say "Yin." Aw...rest in peace, Yin...
