Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Book Club!
Do anybuggy want...
Do anybuggy want to start a book club? Maybe for just 1 or 2 books, depending on how interested people are. I know there have been some threads on book clubs before, but from what I've seen, they've taken a REALLY long time to get started, if they even got started at all. Here you can suggest the books and discuss how we'll do it, etc. I'll start a different thread once we've got everything figured out.

I'm game. Depends on what book, but sure i'll join! I don't really have any book suggestion, for we would probably want books that are good with everyone. But put me on the list to join!!! :)

I was thinking fantasy....that really narrows it down. :P If no guys join, we could do a girl's book...which reminds me: Smiley (or Smile), are you a girl?

*raises hand* I've finally been driven to just being a rebel and reading Philip Pullman *snirk* so I'd be glad to have something I have to read. :) Sounds cool.

Oh um yeah I'm a girl. I should've posted that when I joined.
Umm...

I'll join! How much would we be reading per day? Just about anything is fine with me; I can read up to 300 pages per day, but I know that a lot of other people don't have that much time, so I'm assuming it'll be less than that. ;)
I don't particularly want to read TNoTBiS, myself, but fantasy sounds great! What about So You Want To Be A Wizard by Diane Duane? That may be confusing, however. The 20th anniversary edition (yes, the book is over 20 years old) has the companion short story Uptown Local in it, but the other copies don't, so if we chose it we'd end up with some ofus having more to read than others.
I think it would be worth it, however. The entire series is great!

Yeah, that would be a good one, Ima. I'd love to join, depending on what we decide to read.

The Diane Duane book sounds good. I've already read everything by Pseudo, though.

I'll join! If I've read the books. So what books are y'all gonna do?
(April 9, 2010 - 4:03 pm)
Sounds awesome! For books to read I have:
Sci-Fi: Found by Margret Peterson Haddix
Historical Fiction: If I Should Die Before I Wake by Han Nolan (fairly sad and depressing, but amazingly moving book about the Holocasut. Wouldn't be for younger CBers, though. Probably 12, maybe 11 years and up, as long as they don't get really depressed by these type of things.)
Fantasy: Dragon's Milk by Susan Fletcher
I'll post a few more later! Awesome idea!
(April 9, 2010 - 5:45 pm)
Ooh! Found is an awesome book. Susan Fletcher is a great author. I read Flight of the Dragon Kyn, the prequel to Dragon's Milk, and now badly want to read the latter.

You'll only join if you've read the books? Do you mean you don't want to read anything new?!
What's it like to feel that way? I've always kind of wondered...
(April 9, 2010 - 5:47 pm)
Sounds great! I LOVE TO READ, COUNT ME IN!!!!!
I suggest Diamond Willow, which is a book written in diamond shaped poems. (Sort of fantasy.) Guardians of Ga'Hoole is also a fantasy book.
However, any books would be great!

Diamond Willow is great! Even though it's technically fantasy, it's really written more in the style of realistic fiction...
APVNSBC says gnkz. Gnakz. Knakz. Knackz. Knacks!
(April 10, 2010 - 11:52 am)
I'll do it if I like the sound of the book. I think we had been waiting until summer, I believe that's what we decided last time, so more people could do it. But anyway, yah, I'll join most likely. :)
