i ask you to do me one little thing
look me right in the eyes
i see your gaze drift away just a tiny little bit
i am going to do something that will lead to a frankly enormous amount of guilt later down the line
thats then

if it were an actual viable option
i would travel to the american southwest
i would take in my surroundings
i would scream out the names of each individual vulture in the surrounding area
they would bring me fresh nectar and grapes
if it were a genuinely possible route to take
i would forget human speech
Part of your poem was too graphic for the CB. If you wish to resubmit with your own edits, you may. - Admin

Melody:
Whispers of heartbreak echo in the dark
Lonely melodies, bring a light kind of spark
This aria seems like a song
I’ve heard somewhere before
The memory’s a blur
Can’t see it anymore
But it’s something I know
From ages ago
And all these nights I’ve spent
Hearing a song from the past
I wish I could prevent
These whispers of my grief and cries
That bring those tears to my eyes
But these notes each
As hard as I try
The memory’s just out of reach
And in the end
When I hold out my hand
It turns to mist in my fingers
This is like deja vu
These feelings feel so new
But bring back so much
The sorrow and the pain
Holding me down like a chain
From just a simple melody
I really need a remedy
For something as serious
As this

trying my hand at poetry. honestly, mixed results
poem for Jean-Michel Baquista
at the corner of the street that is packed with cars
here is a guy who can offer you one single answer
samo,
samo
he is a healthier alternative
to pushing pieces of silver in a slot
he is a healthier alternative
rest assured, he will still make you rot.
samo says kind kind words to me
he phrases things beautifully
things said not to inspire me
but to push me toward complacency
samo,
samo

Glass Marbles
Glass marbles clatter
Against the floor; a
Once precious item of
Childhood; a thing that
Now seems so long
Ago; a sense of nostalgia
Washes over you; embraces
You, bittersweet like
The chocolate always stored
On the shelf, steadfast and
Ready; All of it fades away
Into music

Attempted to write a poem while listening to a song (Alewife by Clairo from the album Peri suggested in the music club) and writing whatever came to me

Ok, so I have a bunch of poems stored up from the past month; I'm still figuring out how I'm going to post them.

Black and Blue
Stream down your cheeks
Streaks of ink and coal
Slipping down, dyeing your skin
Even darker, like the night
Your eyes shine red as the stars
Hot and hurt
Like rain splattering on asphalt
BItter black and blue
Staining tatoos from the other side
The scent of petrichor permeating
The thin veil of awareness
On which we lay.
It's like the tears can wash over the world
And carry away
All your sadness and pain.
I really wish it could.

the imagery here -!
Your poetry is always amazing :D also you said that you didn't like how bleak and disorganized your poetry sounds. I get not liking its bleakness, I still think it's amazing (and I like bleak poetry). I don't think it's that disorganized, though. any disorganization works to help it and feels intentional.

As for rain,
Gentle and timid,
I can claim to understand;
But what of snow?
For all the dainty innocence it represents
Is it not too biting and sharp?
Does it not harold death and destruction,
Pretending to be something other than
Mere water, spiked and fractal-woven?
But then again, snow is not always vicious.
It can be light and puffy and gentle too.
If can waft down like pale leaves
Broken edges a testament
To being scorned and frozen as demure rain.
Perhaps snow, too, is simply misunderstood.
It has it's place.
It is always waiting for the moment to strike.
