In its dying moments, SOCS merged with BIG, despite the fact that they'd been enemies for a time. BIG's cadet academy had already been established, but suddenly BIG had a bunch of experiments left over from SOCS. BIG wasn't so evil to keep up something so unethical as experimentation on live subjects… but these were the leftovers. The war is getting long, hard. They're starting to justify the use of experiments in hopes of creating stronger, genetically enhanced soldiers.
Meanwhile, BIG Cadet Academy for the Valiant is accepting more and more students at an alarming rate. Feeding children as young as eleven propaganda, teaching them to fight, and then placing them on the battlefield or into labs as soon as they come of age, it seems as though BIG is getting more desperate (and ruthless) than ever before…

Here is the recreated (and hopefully better) version of the original boarding school roleplay. The very basic story is summarized above, but I'll put it in clearer terms. The story is that now that SOCS, a very evil group of scientists who used to experiment on live beings, has been destroyed, BIG has been left with their experiments. At first, they were only using the leftovers, but they have now grown so desperate for power in the war that they are creating more experiments in an effort to make stronger soldiers. BIG also has a boarding school for students (BIG Cadet Academy for the Valiant or BCAftV) who will either fight or do science for them when they graduate. Mostly students learn propaganda about BIG, science, and combat skills, although all of the core classes are more or less there. At the academy, there is a lab. Some experiments are living in the lab for the students to use as test subjects in their lessons. But when a group of students becomes aware of these experiments plot for escape, they have to decide if they want to help or not. This roleplay will be about the days leading up to a small rebellion from students and experiments at BIG. If you have a half-baked, undeveloped idea for a character, don't worry because this is a perfect place for character development!
Your character can be a student or an experiment. While there is no limited number of characters, we ask that there only be up to eight experiments right now for smoothness and believability. Please consider if you will have time to commit to this roleplay before you join, especially if you're making an experiment character. Two of my characters are experiments, which leaves six experiment slots left as of right now. You don't need to have been in the old roleplay to join this one! If you were in the original roleplay, you can keep your character or make a new one. I'm also going to give you first dibs on experiment slots if you already had an experiment character for the next few days; that only seems fair.

"I'm going," Leskie replied. "No one has invited me yet, but I suppose it doesn't matter. I don't mind going myself. What about you?"

I have an rp idea for after this, but it requires that at least some of them escape. Basically it's like a flea market festival that BIG is coming to, trying to recruit more people for the Academy or as new experiments, and the charries have to try to stop it. so that's my input. what's your rp idea, Peri? it might be good to have an rp for escapees and an rp for anyone who doesn't escape. I agree for the timeskips (how does the dance come in though?)

Well the dance is important because most of the students and some of the staff will be there so it will be the experiments' best opportunity for escape.
And yeah, Zinnia's definitely escaping successfully if I'm doing this idea. But it wouldn't have much to do with all of your characters. I don't want to go into detail about it at this point because I'm not sure if I'm not sure if I'm even going to do it, but most of your charries from this rp wouldn't fit into it and you'd probably have to make new charries if you wanted to join it.
I was picturing that when this rp ends the characters will go in different directions and we can start multiple different roleplays and stories from there depending on what happens. I don't think there'd be a real "sequel" (that is, a story with all the same characters to follow this one) roleplay to this necessarily, but you can totally do your idea, BB, just idk if I see my characters necessarily going in that direction? There doesn't need to be one roleplay for the escaped or the students or anything. They can go all around Kyngdom and there can be many different roleplays if we need it.
Anyway I think we should see how this roleplay plays out before we make any final decisions and I didn't mean to get you all excited or anything, I was just playing around with some little ideas

“Their names are Aly and Lee, I think,” Zinnia shrugged. “If you want me to meet these two students, how about you just ask them if they can switch experiments with Aly and Lee tomorrow? We’ll take turns talking to them over the next few days and decide if to ask for their help together.”
Avi's heart plummeted a little bit. He was conflicted; he wanted this to work but Relven and Leskie were his partners and a part of him didn't want to share.
"Sure, whatever." Avi kept his tone nonchalant.
He sighed, and surveyed the room of misfits. "They don't deserve this. We don't deserve. Whatever it takes." Avi looked up at Zinnie, feeling a sudden fire.

Question marks are because I don't think I've seen Luna Silvermoon or Arlo the Necromancer around except for when they posted the form, and I'm not sure if Hawkstar's able to RP rn. Please lmk if I forgot anyone! :) excluding (I can't think of a better term rn, because uh that sounds harsh, but Ig it's what we're doing...) anyone with a question mark, I think we have 12 students and 6 experiments? "Hey, you did it!" Colin exclaimed. "And only Crescent beat you to it. Guess there's a reason she's captain of the archery team. Anyway, Via's okay. She seems bored. I have yet to test her intelligence, but I think she's pretty smart for her age. I'll have to create some puzzles to keep her mind active. There's not much else to do all day as an experiment, after all..."
Rel waved at Crescent in return for her nod and chose another arrow. "Crescent's seriously spectacular," he admitted. "Maybe one day I can get the captaincy, though! I hope you can help Via - I haven't seen much of her, but she seems sweet." He bit his lip as he focused on the target again, and on his thoughts. "Sometimes I think there's no real need to keep the experiments so closely guarded... or maybe they're so unhappy that they'd escape if they had a quarter of a chance." He glanced at Colin.

"I suppose you won't really ever have to specifically," Aly replied, hitting the apple right on the stem this time. "But it helps overall with accuracy, right?"

Via straightens her head decisively. “I bet you’re a really good artist because you see things that other people don’t. When we’re out of this place, let’s make paintings together and hang them up all over my house until all my walls are covered.”
I struggle for a long time with how to respond to that. Long enough that Via grows restless and stares out the window. But if she keeps living in this optimistic world, she’s going crash eventually when she realizes how wrong she was. and thinking of that makes me panic because I thought maybe <friend> liked me once, that she would take care of me, and I shouldn't have, and I don't know why i ever did. and I don’t want to think of that but is there an option not to?
I do my best. “Via - you’re never going to have a house.” She can’t get upset - that’ll just draw attention. so I add, “But we’ll take care of you. Right? Via -”
Why do i keep saying her name? names are another reminder of things we’re not supposed to have. I guess I should say them, then, just to annoy people. “Via, I don’t want - Via, you’ll be okay. It’ll be okay. Even if we don’t get out of here.” Now I’m being too mushy. And just replacing her false optimism with more false optimism. Why do I ever talk to people?

Spiderwort shrugs, looking down at the grass. No weeds, not even the creeping mintflower that is so prominent in this region. There are always bees and other pollinators flitting around the tiny leaves and slightly larger blossoms. It would be so much better than grass. “What’s BIG do with archery?”

Rel waved at Crescent as he grabbed another arrow. “Crescent’s seriously spectacular. Maybe one day I can get the captaincy, though!” He focused on his target. “I hope you can help Via - I haven't seen much of her, but she seems sweet. Sometimes I think there's no real need to keep the experiments so closely guarded... or maybe they're so unhappy that they'd escape if they had a quarter of a chance.” He looked over at Colin, and Colin realized Rel wanted to see his reaction to this.
“I dunno,” Colin said. “I mean, they don’t seem happy here. So maybe they would escape. But like, would they be wrong to?” He shot again and missed. “I mean, of course everything BIG does is great and stuff. But I don’t think I’d feel that way if I was on the receiving end of it.”
He looked at his watch; there wasn’t much time left in archery.

Avi’s face fell a little, but he said, “Sure, whatever.”
“Don’t worry,” said Zinnia. “They’re still your cool new friends, not mine. And I’m still your best friend even though you know some students now,” they added teasingly.
"They don't deserve this. We don't deserve this. Whatever it takes.” There was determination in Avi’s eyes. U
Zinnia nodded. “Whatever it takes. Now, let’s work on this plan.”

“Via - you’re never going to have a house,” Altair stuttered. “But we’ll take care of you. Right? Via - Via, you’ll be okay. It’ll be okay. Even if we don’t get out of here.”
“I…” Via stared, stunned. “But… this can’t be it.” She looked over to the window. “The birds get to be outside, and the students. I want to go too.”

"About a year," Adine said. "I arrived a couple of months before the last Spring Dance." She had been so excited about the BCA back then - it had been so new, so fashionable, so interesting. Now she wasn't so sure that those first impressions had been correct. "This assignment seems fairly simple," she added.

"I dunno," Colin said. "I mean, they don't seem happy here. So maybe they would escape. But like, would they be wrong to?" He aimed again, Rel covertly analyzing him to make sure he wasn't doing anything wrong, and missed the target. "I mean, of course everything BIG does is great and stuff. But I don't think I'd feel that way if I was on the receiving end of it."
Rel frowned, picking up another arrow. "That's what I was thinking. What we're doing is supposed to help BIG, right? At least in the long term? But here are these experiments, and obviously they aren't happy with their lives... If I were one of them, BIG would be more like an enemy. And they're right here, within the academy. It doesn't feel right." He shrugged, hoping he hadn't gone too far. But then he'd always been able to tell Colin everything.

"I suppose," Leskie replied, who was more of an archer and scientist than a writer. "What do you want to become after you graduate BCAftV?"

"Well..." Aly thought for a moment, before replying, "I suppose it improves aim for things such as BIG's army. But otherwise, it's helpful with your own precision in combat."

Now, that was actually a good question - Adine couldn't imagine most Valiants asking it - and the thing was, she didn't really know. She knew her parents had sent her here so that she could be properly educated, hang about with elites, and have a good life afterwards, but she didn't know if that entailed working for BIG or something else. She really didn't think she wanted to work for BIG; it didn't seem to be her thing. But what else? "I'm not sure, actually," she confessed, idly making a few notes in her notebook for the essay they were supposed to write. "Maybe I could be a writer, or a - idk. I honestly don't know. You?"
