Sybill's Home~
Here, you'll see a cave with grass and trees growing on its roof. Some roots dangle in front of the entrance. You can see the flickers of a small fire deeper into the cave, and there are voices coming from in the cave.
All around, as far as anyone can see, are woods. It's actually quite pretty. Not to far away from the cave is a small pond that glitters.

Sorry for leaving you hanging! Again... X(
Rose~
Sybill looks suddenly to the tunnel. I stab the other spirit, which follows the first to death. Sybill doesn't seem to notice.
"Let's go forwards. Catch them off guard, get there before them, you know?"
I nod, and we go on. The voices grow in volume, until I can just make out words.
Something's here...
Get ready...
Come on!
We march on undeterred, and the passage remains empty save for ourselves. At the end of it, we walk into a grand hall, walls covered with complex patterns of the unknown script and glowing stones, a dark throne on a dais at the far end. It sits occupied by a gold-crowned spider spirit, smile unnaturally sharp, attended by a curled-up figure with a cloth over its face. The latter does not appear to be of the spirit folk, but that is no ground for trust.
Sybill and I stride unhindered into the room.
Kill them, the spider ruler whispers.
"No," the attendant declares, strong and clear, oddly rebellious.
You dare defy your king?
"You are not my king. I have no ruler," the attendant spits. Sybill frowns thoughtfully.
Foolish mortal, the king begins.
"The fool is you," I interrupt, still walking forth. "to keep a disloyal servant by your side. The more fool to have no other guard. And that which makes you most foolish of all is to have angered us."
The king laughs, horribly. The attendant flinches.
Idiot human. You think you and your pet have any chance against me?
"I am no pet!" Sybill snaps, stepping before me. "And the biggest mistake of your life was killing my sister!" And she lunges.
I follow without a second between us, and the king rises to meet our onslaught.

Sybill ~
Impulse takes over, and I instantly launch myself at the first spirit thing I see.
The attendant instantly is on her feet, and the king allows a sharp bit of fear to slide across his face.
My claws slash through the king, my teeth quickly meeting his throat. He manages to fling me off--only for Rose to stab him with her knife. A shriek echoes through the cavern, and it brings me pain.
It reminds me too much of Yin's horrid scream as she was stabbed by that sword.
But Yin is also what drags me back to the present. Yin is why I am here. I must avenge her.
It's rather like a bloodbath, the next hour or so. Except there's no blood--just that terrifyingly mysterious black dust falling in clumps on the ground.
Finally, it's all over. The attendant, Rose, and I are the only ones left in the room. The spiders have either fled or died.
"You know, I never caught your name," The attendant says, amused , "I am Ma'indavevara. Please just call me Ma'ind."
"Can we trust you, Ma'ind?" Rose asks, her tone cold.
Ma'ind gestures to the piles of dust. "I helped murder and slaughter these monsters, didn't I?"
I nod and say, " I am Sybill. "
Rose takes a deep breath before saying slowly, "I am Rose."

Rose~
Sybill hits full and hard, landing both tooth and claw. The king reels slightly and scrabbles at her fur, pushing her away with a lucky hit to the ribs. But I am there to fill the gap.
I stab silver into the king's gut. He shrieks, but does not fully disintegrate. I am surprised, but I reason this is why he is king as I dodge his attack.
The attendant lets out a shout and pummels the king with fists while his focus is on me. When he turns to counter, Sybill strikes at his back. He does not take the blow easily, but utters a strange cry in the language I do not understand, and spider spirits begin to flow in.
I call to the attendant. "Have you any silver?" The spirits near balk at the very word.
"No", the attendant responds. "Why?"
"It is their weakness. But they can still be harmed by other things. Will you fight with us?"
"I will," the attendant accepts, and tackles the king.
I allow myself to smile, and face the army. The battle is not easy; I am vastly outnumbered. But the attendant soon comes to my aid, and we switch out to fight the army and its king by turns. And we are finally victorious.
I am little more than winded, but Sybill and the attendant are both injured, so we rest, and I tear strips of cloth to bind wounds. But the enemy of our enemy is not our friend, so I do not fully lower my guard.
"You know, I never caught your name," the attendant says. "I am Ma'indavevara. Please just call me Ma'ind."
"Can we trust you, Ma'ind?" I ask.
"I helped slaughter these monsters, didn't I?"
Sybill nods. "I am Sybill."
I pause, but introduce myself nonetheless, as Rose.
"It's nice to meet you," Ma'ind tells us.
"And you, as well," I reply. It will do no harm to be polite, even if Ma'ind is lying.
"Ma'ind, do you know the way out of this cave?" Sybill inquires.
"No," Ma'ind admits. "I don't know how I got here, to be honest."
"Then perhaps we ought to start looking," I suggest. "It was afternoon when we came, and we have been here long. The sun will set in--" I pull out my oft-neglected pocket watch-- "Approximately one and a half hours."
"Ah, to know what time it is," Ma'ind sighs, rising.
"Sybill, can you stand?" I inquire softly.
"I think so," she replies, struggling to her feet. "Let's go!"
(April 4, 2018 - 7:38 pm)
Sybill~
We search the throne room first. There is no exit. Next comes the room with the Albero button.
I search the box again.
"I don't think there's an exit in here," I say, "But I feel like we need the button."
" Button? You mean the Ga'ida Stona? " Ma'ind asks.
"Ga'ida Stona? What does that mean?" Rose asks.
" it would mean, in your bhāşā, Guide Stone. "
"I'm not even going to ask what bhasa means. But Guide Stone! Think! Maybe it will guide us out of here!" I say.
ma'ind looks thoughful. "Once the king said, phakta varu stonano upayoga kari sake che., I am no expert in these folks launguage, but it roughly translates to Only the wolf can use the stone. Now, I do know the King has placed a spell on the button. He may have enchanted it so only wolves can use it, thinking no wolf would come here."
" Well, he was wrong! " I lean forwards and tap my nose on the button. The dragon's s eye glows, and suddenly, something clicks.
"The exit is in the room we entered in," , I say rapidly.
We head there, and Rose runs her hand over the 'motto' of the spiders.
"I think I feel a button," Rose says. There is a click, and suddenly the walls move away to reveal a set of stairs.
at the top is an exit.

Oh, I forgot to mention~
Albero was chosen to be a Sage, and he's not there anymore. He most likely left a note explaining everything.
(April 6, 2018 - 6:57 am)
What does a thoughtful expression look like on someone with a cloth covering their face?
Also, I managed to accidentally delete everything I just wrote, so I'm not going to type out the first part again.
Rose~
Ma'ind nods slowly. "The king once said, 'phakta varu paththaranō upayōga karī śakē chē'. I'm no expert, but that roughly translates to 'only the wolf can use the stone'. I do know the King has placed a spell on the stone. He may have enchanted it, thinking no wolf would come here." How convenient.
"Well, he was wrong!" Sybill says, triumphant, and touches her nose to the stone.
"The exit is in the room we entered in." The words spill out atop one another, like someone else is speaking. I raise an eyebrow, but Sybill is already limping to the passage, Ma'ind behind her.
I follow them to where the unusually bright words are carved, place a hand on them. The glow gives off no heat. I brush my fingertips along the characters. Spin the web... A smoothness. I pause.
"I believe I feel a button."
It gives with a click, and the walls of the cave draw back like a curtain, revealing a wide staircase with the golden glimmer of sunlight at its end.
Something falls to the floor. I glance down and see that it is Ma'ind's hat and veil. Ma'ind is squinting up at the sun with a human face.
"How beautiful it is..."
She takes a step, and then another. Sybill and I follow sedately as she runs up the steps and outside.
We are outside, and on the side of a hill. I let my eyes adjust, then look out at the landscape around us. The meadow sways not far off.
"Sybill, I know where we are."
"Yup," she calls. I turn to see her, watching Ma'ind whoop and cavort, rejoicing in her freedom. I am struck by a memory of Lilly, when once upon a time she recieved a pony for her birthday...
I sink to the grass and try to smile.
(April 6, 2018 - 2:03 pm)
I imagined her with a hand on her chin or something.
Sybill~
Rose sinks down into the grass, sadness covering her face for only a mere second, before it is replaced by a weak smile.
Ma'ind cries in happiness, spinning and twirling. Her face is absolutely beautiful, I can't imagine why she ever covered it. Hair spills down her back, no longer held by a hat. She's not quite human--those spiders possibly did something to her--but it's close enough.
As for me, I feel a mix of happiness and sadness. Sad, because Ma'ind is reminding me of Yin, but happy, because I know I have avenged dear Yin.
Then I remember Albero. Wouldn't he be glad to meet Ma'ind?
I look down into the meadow. There is a clear ring of dead flowers, and in the center is the ash pile and those terrible black dust mounds. I avert my eyes from that dreadful sight, and look instead to the woods.
"Come on! Let's go back," I say, limping down the small hill. Rose is on her feet and slowly following me, while Ma'ind casts a look in the other direction, a sad look in her eyes as if a timeline of old memories is strung across the sky. She turns her head to Rose and I, following us.
when we finally get back to the caves, it's oddly quiet. "Albero?" I call . There is no response.
I notice a note, read iy.
It's short, and quick, and rather easy to read:
Sybill and Rose~
My deepest apologies. I found that I must leave now, or...absolutely terrible things could happen. You see, I had an encounter with a mermaid and her flower. I do believe I have been Chosen to be a Sage or whatever we shall call ourselves. I can sense the others. We have to meet, save Kyngdom from something. I will try to write to you when possible.
Sincerely, Albero.
I let Rose read it. Surprise flickers across her face. Ma'ind enters shortly after rose finishes reading the letter.
"These caverns are far better than the King's," Ma'ind says, quietly . She brushes her fingertips on the walls.
"Do you have a family or someone out there, Ma'ind?" I ask curiosly. Her gaze swims with sadness as she says, " I did, a long time ago. They couldn't withstand the King's powee. They died at his hands. "
"My sister did, too," I say quietly . Rose glances at me.
"What was her name?" Ma'ind asks.
"Yin was her name. "

(April 6, 2018 - 3:29 pm)
Sorry for not writing sooner!
Rose~
"Come on, let's go back," Sybill says, snapping me out of my reverie. I rise, and Ma'ind and I trail behind her. Ma'ind fair glows in the lowering sun, but I feel like a shadow.
When we reach it, the den is quiet.
"Albero?" Sybill calls. There is no answer. A chill seizes me. Sybill walks, with effort, to a scrap of paper lying on a flat stone. She looks it over before passing it to me.
The note is from Albero. He claims to have been chosen by a mermaid for some vague task. I do not believe it. The chill in me is replaced by a growing heat.
Ma'ind enters. "These caverns are far better than the King's."
"Do you have a family or someone out there, Ma'ind?" Sybill inquires.
"I did," Ma'ind replies softly. "A long, long time ago. They couldn't withstand the King's power. They died at his hands."
"My sister died, too," Yin tells her, looking at the packed dirt floor.
"What was her name?"
"Yin," Sybill whispers.
"Yin," Ma'ind repeats.
"Come," I tell her, motioning to the cave's entrance. Sybill is beginning to appear upset, and I believe it best to give her a moment alone.
Ma'ind follows me doubtfully out of the cave. Once we are some distance away, I explain. "It happened only today."
Ma'ind's eyes widen. "Oh."
I nod, continuing to walk. She follows wordlessly. I lead her to Yin's grave. She approaches and bows her head. I watch from a short distance, ever wary.
A wailing howl sifts through the trees.
I run to the caves, but Sybill is alone and safe, only mourning. I sigh inwardly and look back towards where I left Ma'ind. She appears some moments later, red-faced and breathing hard.
"What is it?" she gasps, as soon as she is close enough for me to hear.
"Nothing," I inform her. "I was mistaken."
"Oh, okay," she pants, hands on her knees. Once she catches her breath, "You're fast."
A smile touches the corners of my mouth. "I imagine I've had more practice than you."
She nods, then lapses into thoughtful silence. I turn away and think myself.
Sybill's injuries will take some time to heal, and even after we have avenged Yin, here myst be a mourning period. There must be a few days to recover and plan. But how long? Doubtless Albero will bring news of us to the Resistance or Catastrophe or some other group, whether intentionally or not. Where has he gone? An encounter with a mermaid is unlikely. He could easily be a spy. Sybill and Yin did not know of him before I came, and now he is gone for mysterious reasons. He did bury Yin, and he knew his hut... But he may not need to be evil to aid our enemies.
I think until my stomach growls. I confer with Ma'ind, and we maje a meal from my supplies. After that, I show Ma'ind to an empty cave where she may rest, and wait until the sun has set and Sybill quiets. I look in, and she appears to have fallen asleep, exhausted. I leave her be, returning to my own chamber, where I fall into a light sleep.
~I started writing what would've happened if Ma'ind hadn't come in before I remembered that she did. So, here it is, in all its non-canon glory.
The paper crumples in my hand.
Sybill notices my expression. "Rose?"
"He is a spy," I whisper.
"What? No. That can't be," Sybill denies, shaking her head.
"Did you ever see him before I came?" I ask. "No! And now he's gone!"
"What about his home? What about the spider spirits?"
"He found some old house, or made one. He knew about the spirits beforehand, but kept that knowledge from us."
"Then why did he bury Yin?"
Also, remember that both Sybill and Rose have burns from the fire, Sybill and Ma'ind have injuries from the spider spirit battle, and Sybill has the additional injuries of a gash on the leg, bitten paws and broken ribs. Symptoms of grief also include headaches, trouble sleeping, fatigue, loss of appetite, aches and pains, and feelings of heaviness, influenced by how the mourner views death. And they no longer have a healer. Rose knows that aloe is good for injuries, and plantain, but I'm not sure how much else. She knows more about how to break the body than how to fix it.

@Sybill
YOU SERIOUSLY NEED TO WRITE A BOOK OR SOMETHING I LOVE THE WAY YOU WRITE!!
Unfortunately X-Sreel cannot say the same. She says ikhe. SYBILL'S WRITING IS NOT ICKEY YOU... YOU... Excuse me.
*Distant sounds of scolding*
X-Sreel is taking a nap right now. She does that whenever she's repentant of something.
(April 10, 2018 - 10:54 pm)
Aww thanks so much!!
(April 11, 2018 - 3:47 pm)
So, what happens next?
Something about a bird? X-Sreel says boid.

Could I have a summary of what's going on on this thread? I'm sorry, I lost track.
(April 12, 2018 - 9:06 pm)
I will try.
First, Sybill and Rose arrive at Sybill's home late at night. They have both been injured in a recent fire. Sybill was hit by a weak and small tree that fell during the fire, and needs immediate medical attention from her blind little sister, Yin, who is a talented healer. The next morning, Sybill introduces Yin to Rose. Yin treats their wounds.
Lilly, Roses dead little sister, visits her.
(Will write more later I have to go)
(April 13, 2018 - 2:51 pm)
The short version is, Sybill (a wolf) and Rose (a human) go crazy in the woods, pushed on by a series of traumas and characters. (We their authors have decided to drive them mad to make them antagonists for extra conflict in the story.) The latest developments in this are Sybill's sister Yin dying, killed by spider spirits from a nearby meadow, which Sybill and Yin then went to revenge-kill. They succeeded and brought back Ma'ind, a mildly mysterious former captive. Upon arriving home, they discovered that their dragon friend Albero was gone, having been chosen to be a Sage/Blessed One. Then they went to sleep, or pretended to. And now Rose has woken up from a nightmare and had a hallucination of her dead sister Lilly.
Hope this helps! I am very tired, so I'm not sure if it will.
