Sybill's Home~
Here, you'll see a cave with grass and trees growing on its roof. Some roots dangle in front of the entrance. You can see the flickers of a small fire deeper into the cave, and there are voices coming from in the cave.
All around, as far as anyone can see, are woods. It's actually quite pretty. Not to far away from the cave is a small pond that glitters.

Yeah, that happens. It's really hard to keep going. Sometimes outlines help, sometimes going back to what inspired you in the first place does, sometimes just powering through will do it. Sometimes having someone there on the other end to keep pouring out plot twists and ideas works, and sometimes it's a simple matter of figuring out logically what your character has done, what they want, and what they're going to do next. What doesn't help is giving up. I've done that myself, far too often. It's so easy just to let it sit, but the longer you do it, the harder it is to come back.
(You don't have to read this next part, it's just me rambling again.)
One of the things keeping me here is a feeling of still being new, having others writing who have been here much longer and know a lot more than I do; the old and wise towering above, holding up the sky so that I and others like me can grow ivy at their feet. That idea of being small, living in a place made for giants to roam, somehow makes it easier to find ever more space to fill up in my tiny corner of this world.
Rose~
I wake Sybill shortly after dawn. She yawns and rolls over, and we have breakfast.
"When do you think we'll reach Mer?" Sybill asks as we set out again.
"I'm not sure," I respond, "but likely in somewhere around a day or two."
"Ah." Then, after a pause, "Are you excited?"
I consider it. "Actually... yes, a little bit." I'm not sure why, but something about the idea of so many people and so many things, most of which I might have never seen before, quickens my heartbeat. "Are you?"
"Yeah," Sybill replies without hesitation. "There's going to be so much to see and do! What kind of food do you think they'll have? Probably all kinds. Mmm, I can't wait to try them!"
I smile. "Don't get too ahead of yourself. Food's going to cost something."
"But not that much, right?" she protests.
"Merchants may mark up the prices for the event, given how many people won't know what their wares are truly worth. I will promise to get you something interesting, though, since it's kind of the point of going."
"Yes!"
We pass the time in speculation, and with evening comes the discovery of a small village.
"There's an inn," I point. "Would you like to stay the night here, or shall we keep going?"
~An inn might be more comfort to Rose than to Sybill, and it'll require payment, which will mean less to spend at the flea market. But there'll also be a change of food, and they might hear some news in the dining area.

What if somebody takes a liking to them and pays their room? Just a thought...

Sybill? Have you been kidnapped by a souped-up cyborg jetpack bear with a white mask and a tragic destiny?
(August 8, 2018 - 5:14 am)
We don't need to detail every moment of the journey--we could skip over the last day or two and just arrive at the flea market, jump into the action. I suppose there's a question of what they do while they're there... I suppose they'll try to get information about the Power of Hoof seller, some temporary accommodations, information about the Animals, and of course the best of whatever there is for sale. Have you ever been to a flea market? I've been to one. It was pretty cool, although a little less interesting than tag sales. There will be all sorts of prices, I'm sure, and all sorts of products...

That was imaginative, Viola? ! XP

Oops. Sorry for kinda vanished. When you said 'white mask and tragic destiny', it kinda reminded me of The Phantom of the Opera. I really like that movie. I guess both Phantom of the Opera and Syberia have been merging to change my writing voice for a while.
As for having been to a flea market? Yes, I've been to quite a few! We go to a lotta car shows, and there's always a giant flea market going on. They're pretty fun! I've gotten a good deal of model cars, and there's this one guy who always comes that brings all these little metal animals made of stuff like silverware and spark plugs, that he welds himself. I have a spark plug butterfly and a silverware spider.

I've never seen The Phantom of the Opera, but I've heard it's good.
That sounds awesome! Do you want to work it into the Mer flea market?
(August 12, 2018 - 2:38 pm)
Ooo, that's a good idea!!
(August 12, 2018 - 7:27 pm)
Okay, great! Should I start, or do you want to? Also, should we keep going here or start posting on the connections thread?
(August 16, 2018 - 8:53 am)
I think we should start posting on the Kyngdom Thread now. You can start, since I'm still out of ideas.:/
(August 16, 2018 - 3:09 pm)
Welp, okay then. No idea how I'm going to do this... Wonder what it'll turn out to be.
(August 21, 2018 - 10:29 pm)
Add Fallout to that mix, too.
(August 9, 2018 - 3:44 pm)
Okay, I think I have an idea. Will Sybill want to walk on her own when they reach the flea market, or will she want to stay on Rose's shoulders?
(August 24, 2018 - 7:40 pm)
She'll probably want to walk on her own.
