Hello, it's me
Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board
Hello, it's me
Hello, it's me again!
This is my first thread, and it's going to focus on my charrie Lycaella, her mom and her friend Nygrune. It's for following our adventures while we're not in a place or situation covered by another thread. 'We' because Ronan has asked to be Nygrune, to which of course I said yes.
Someone (I think Icy) said that B.I.G. and Catstrophe actually dislike each other. It makes sense, so... Just to let you know.
I'll begin where I left off on the Underwater Ball thread, with Lycaella and Nygrune planning to do some spying of a sort. They've asked Lycaella's mom to show them her notes, so I'll fast-forward to that.
Lycaella~
"Oh, so you're giving them their shadows back?"
We are sitting on a rug in my mom's room, reading her notes. I can't make sense of half the words, but she tells Nygrune and I what it means. Apparently, Catastrophe has found a way to separate shadows from their owners' bodies, and to keep him from creating a shadow army and destroying everything, B.I.G. has been researching it. They've managed to figure out how he did it, and are testing ways to reattach the shadows to their owners.
"Well, that's one way of putting it," my mom says. "We believe it will be beneficial to all of Kyngdom."
"I don't really understand this one... How would they sew them back on?" I ask.
"I believe it's with a special sort of thread, Ella," Mom says. "Let's see now..."
Nygrune finds it first. "A needle made from the bone of a magic or mythical being, preferably with thread also made from a magical material."
"Yes," my mom says, "Although personally I think that a binding spell shows more promise." I raise an eyebrow. She doesn't usually like magic this much. Out of nowhere, I yawn. Mom and Nygrune look at me like I'm disrupting something.
"Sorry," I say. "I'm getting kind of tired. You two can keep reading, I don't mind."
My mom nods. I hear her calling after me as I leave the room.
"Remember to brush your teeth!"
~End RP.
It actually is getting kind of late, so I should go. I hope this works out.

I hate it when I know there's posts, but I can't see them, especially when they're directed at me. So, sorry, Laeta, sorry, Heather, I'll reply as soon as your comments show up.

Where are the admins? It's been hours and I still can't see anything new. Maybe they're voting. Or waiting in line to vote.
I'm here now. We've been busy with other things. Sometimes you just have to be patient.

I'm sorry. Thank you. Sorry.
(November 8, 2016 - 9:22 pm)
Now I've been both complimented and chastened by an admin.
Mexi says epyg. Epic? I don't know if it's epic exactly, Mexi, more... ...More just kind of neutral.
I wouldn't say "chastened." I was just explaining the delay.

I felt a bit chastened, though.
(November 9, 2016 - 11:57 am)
I have no words again...
(November 9, 2016 - 6:34 pm)
You can take Nygrune, Viola, that's okay. I'll post as him soon for something.
(November 10, 2016 - 12:45 pm)
Thanks for understanding. You can still RP as him whenever you want.

This RP is going to be what happened on the visit to Nygrune's house from his view.
Nygrune~
I'm standing on my old porch again, letting Lycaella take the lead. She goes to knock on the door, but it creaks open at her touch. I really don't want to be here.
"Hello?" she says, peering into the dark hallway. She pushes the door further open to go in, but there's someone standing in her way.
My brother. Aris.
"Who are you?" he asks her. He looks awful.
"Hi, Aris," Lycaella says. "I'm Lycaella. Remember, Nygrune's friend?"
He shakes his head. "Nope. And it's Mr. Murlock to anyone I don't know." I step forward before he can close the door.
"Aris, let us in. And turn on the lights, for Kyngdom's sake."
"Nygrune," he says, like he didn't realize I was there, like he's only ever seen me once.
"Yes," Lycaella interrupts. "May we come in?"
"No. Not you. Nygrune can, but not you," he says. I shoot Lycaella a look. She's a good friend, but Aris won't listen to her.
"She's my friend," I tell him.
"I don't care. Only family is allowed in."
"You used to let her in all the time," I say, trying not to grit my teeth.
"I don't remember that," Aris denies, leaning on the doorframe. "Either ya come in alone, or both of you go away."
I'd forgotten how difficult he could be.
"Sorry, little bro, but I got you beat," he says. Jerk.
"Fine, I'll come in."
Lycaella looks almost as surprised as Aris. I push past them, and I can hear the door close and lock.
The house is filthy. Aris never liked to clean, but even with the hallway dark, I can see discarded scraps of food, paper, cloth, and other things all over the floor, heavily dusted with dirt. I consider asking him about the mess, but decide not to. I'm here for my own stuff. I wouldn't get a response anyway, because he seems to have gone somewhere else.
I make it to my room without tripping, but when I get there, all of my things are missing. The heavier furniture is all that's left, and there's more trash on it and the floor.
"I put all your stuff in the attic when you left." I fail to not jump at Aris's sudden appearance. How can he move that quietly with all this junk everywhere?
"Okay," I say, exasperated. When I turn around, Aris is gone. He's gotten kind of creepy in the time I've been gone. I can feel him watching me as I walk up the stairs.
I open the attic door and hear a faint crash from behind me. I look around, but there's nothing. Aris must have knocked something over. I sigh and go in.
The contents of my room are carelessly packed in boxes or dumped on the floor. After some searching, I find a box full of old clothes. I pull out an armful and select a few that look like they fit. I go through the rest of the box, and soon enough, I have a collection of things that should work. I put back everything that I'm not going to take and get almost all the way out of the house without seeing my brother again.
Just as I unlock the door, Aris steps up and puts a dagger to my wrist.
"I said you could come in. I didn't say you could take anything. You move your hand, and I'll cut it off. Put those down, and you can go."
I stay where I am. "These are mine. I don't think you need them, want them or care at all what happens to them. Let me take them and I won't bother you again."
Aris doesn't move his dagger. "I have the advantage here. Now give me whatever it is you're holding and I'll let you leave."
"You've changed a lot," I say. "But just because you're armed doesn't mean you're going to win."
A little bit of magic is all it takes to lift the dagger and push Aris back so that he falls into the trash on the floor. For a moment he's stunned. I would be out the door right now, but... Well, let's just say I used more than a little bit of magic.
"You little brat." Aris slowly starts to get to his feet. "Get out of here right now or I will kill you."
I don't stop to consider whether or not he's bluffing.
I stumble out onto the porch and slam the door. Lycaella looks at me with wide eyes.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," I say. Then I see the girl standing behind her. "Who's this?"
Lycaella introduces us, although her tone says she's a little concerned, a little scared, a little mad, and more than ready to go. I'm about the same. And then she turns to the girl, Laeta, and asks, "Do you want to come with us?"
(November 10, 2016 - 6:06 pm)
I gulp at Nygrune's question.
If I left, the officers might discover my stuff.
If I don't, they might discover me.
Nygrune and Lycaella look like they could use some help.
I take a deep breath. "Sure. Where are we going?"
(November 10, 2016 - 10:43 pm)
It was Lycaella's question, actually. Don't worry, though, it's fine.
Lycaella~
Laeta hesitates for a moment, but then she says, "Sure. Where are we going?"
I don't hold back a smile. "West for a bit, then north. We're not quite finished packing yet, so if there's anything you need to do before we leave, there should be time."
She smiles in return. "Okay, just a minute. Wait, where do we meet?"
"Um..." I look at Nygrune.
"Do either of you know where the other's house is?" he asks. I nod, and Laeta shakes her head.
"Why don't we just meet here?" she suggests. Nygrune is suddenly tense.
"Let's not," I say. "His brother won't be too happy to see us. Ever."
"Oh..." she says. I can tell she's sorry.
"It's okay," I tell her. "Actually, that only leaves your house, since Nygrune and I have to go back to mine, and I know the way to yours. We'll meet on the porch, whenever is good for you."
"Okay! I might be... 20, 30 minutes? If you can do that," Laeta says. She and Nygrune both look relieved.
"Yeah, that's good. Nygrune and I might even be a little late," I laugh.
They smile, but something makes me look back at the house that Aris lives in.
"We should probably go," I say, starting to walk down the stairs. Nygrune and Laeta follow.
"In half an hour, then?" Laeta asks.
"It's a plan," Nygrune answers.
(November 12, 2016 - 11:12 am)
I may not be posting as much in the next few days. My cat scratched my dominant hand pretty badly, and now it hurts to use it.
On the plus side, I'll have an excuse to do less math.
(November 12, 2016 - 12:37 pm)
(Oh okay, sorry. I didn't know it was you who asked the question. And I'm sorry that your cat sctratched you!)
I run up to my lab and pick out the needs from the wants.
I finish picking out my stuff when my computer rings.
I walk up to it and click the radar alarm.
Planes head straight for our town.
Pretty soon, the town Air Raid alarms start going off too.
I run out of my house, and see Lycaella and Nygrune in the townsquare, looking around. Some people have come out of their houses too, wondering what's going on.
"Attention all townspeople," a voice says from a speaker. "This is not a drill. Head away from the town calmly and quickly. This is not a drill."
The same voice booms over the town as people start to fill the streets, panicking and running into the woods.
"What's going on?" Lycaella exclaims.
"I don't know!" I shout over the noise.
An airplane zooms over our heads and bombs the town hall. Fire lights up the hall, and people scream in panic.
I look at the next airplane right as Lycaella grabs me and pulls me away to see the markings of Elliot's army planes.
(November 12, 2016 - 9:09 pm)
That's okay. And thank you, the scratch is getting better.
I'm not sure if there are air raid sirens, or a City Hall, or planes. I know there are airships, which are basically the same thing, only cooler.
This is somewhat worrying... I was planning for a more peaceful departure, but I guess not. Do you think they're trying to bomb you?
(November 13, 2016 - 8:28 pm)
(Good, I'm glad it's getting better. Oh okay, so airships then. I didn't know there was no alarm, I'm sorry. And I don't know why they are bombing yet. I guess we'll find out.)
Rubble crashes everywhere and smoke fills everywhere. A teenage girl screams for someone to get up, but they don't move one bit.
Lycaella pulls at my arm, but I can only stare as the fire begins to consume my street. Everything. Everything that I've worked on. Gone. Gone. The fire finally swallows up my house, and an extra burst of fire reassures that everything inside was penetrated and destroyed. Gone. Up in the smoke. Gone.
"Let's go!" Lycaella shouts.
My eyes still on the fire, she drags me into the woods. But it's too late. The fire spreads to the trees, and we are, just us, trapped in the fire.
I then remember my pocket portal that I brought with me.
I take it our of my backpack, and it radiates in a soft purple glow.
"What's that?!" Nygrune yells above the alarms and raging fire.
"A potal!" I shout back.
"Have you used it before?" Lycaella yells.
"Um, no, but we can try!" I yell back, a hopefull tone in my voice.
They don't look convinced.
I punch in coordinates to a tree house I made deep in the forest.
I then throw the portal in the air, and it lands on the ground, expanding and hovering.
"Jump in!" I yell.
Lycaella goes, and then Nyrgune and me.
I feel myself falling when I finally fall into a tree, and the portal lands beside me.
I sit up and look around.
We're not here.
I try to punch the coordinates back in, but the portal shuts off.
"Argh!" I exclaim in frustration.
"What?" Lycaella asks.
"I, uh, might have accidenetly plugged in the wrong coordinates and now the portal's not working," I repsond.
"What?!" Nyrgune exclaims.
"So we're trapped?!" Lycaella asks.
I nod my head.
(CAPTACHA says "dear." It was "dora," at one point too.)
