Hello, it's me again!
This is my first thread, and it's going to focus on my charrie Lycaella, her mom and her friend Nygrune. It's for following our adventures while we're not in a place or situation covered by another thread. 'We' because Ronan has asked to be Nygrune, to which of course I said yes.
Someone (I think Icy) said that B.I.G. and Catstrophe actually dislike each other. It makes sense, so... Just to let you know.
I'll begin where I left off on the Underwater Ball thread, with Lycaella and Nygrune planning to do some spying of a sort. They've asked Lycaella's mom to show them her notes, so I'll fast-forward to that.
Lycaella~
"Oh, so you're giving them their shadows back?"
We are sitting on a rug in my mom's room, reading her notes. I can't make sense of half the words, but she tells Nygrune and I what it means. Apparently, Catastrophe has found a way to separate shadows from their owners' bodies, and to keep him from creating a shadow army and destroying everything, B.I.G. has been researching it. They've managed to figure out how he did it, and are testing ways to reattach the shadows to their owners.
"Well, that's one way of putting it," my mom says. "We believe it will be beneficial to all of Kyngdom."
"I don't really understand this one... How would they sew them back on?" I ask.
"I believe it's with a special sort of thread, Ella," Mom says. "Let's see now..."
Nygrune finds it first. "A needle made from the bone of a magic or mythical being, preferably with thread also made from a magical material."
"Yes," my mom says, "Although personally I think that a binding spell shows more promise." I raise an eyebrow. She doesn't usually like magic this much. Out of nowhere, I yawn. Mom and Nygrune look at me like I'm disrupting something.
"Sorry," I say. "I'm getting kind of tired. You two can keep reading, I don't mind."
My mom nods. I hear her calling after me as I leave the room.
"Remember to brush your teeth!"

It actually is getting kind of late, so I should go. I hope this works out.

Nygrune~
Now that Lycaella has finished telling me everything, I start to tell her what my past month has been like. "So when you left, I went back to the FAFA base close to BIG, but there was something wrong, because the building was gone."
Lycaella stares. "Gone? Like actually gone?"
"Well, it was in rough shape. A huge part of the building-both the north and east sides-were nearly totaled, and the infirmary, the entrance hall, and that really big hall with the staircases were damaged, and the staircase hall was completely gone. Nothing but rubble. I asked around to see what had happened, and a pygmy owl told me that Catastrophe had come. I didn't know who that was at the time, but the animals were all scared. I decided to find out why the animals were scared, and hit the books-"
"Suprise!" Lycaella says, rolling her eyes affectionately.
"And then when I found out who Catastrophe was, I decided that I would prepare in case I met this man. So I learned magic."
"You what?" Lycaella jumps up. "You have got to show me that!"
"Alright," I said. I raised my arm, snapped my fingers, lowered my arm, snapped my fingers, and the dishes for dinner lifted themselves into the air. "Do you want me to teach you?" I asked. "Dinner is simmering, so we have time."
And that's how I began teaching my friend magic.

Oh my Kyngdom. I am lost for words. This was worth the wait. It's better than my birthday. It's better than Christmas! Is it Christmas? No? Is it my birthday? Also no. Huh. Anyway, it's fine, I love it! I'm glad you posted. RP time now, undisputed.

Nygrune is teaching me magic. Magic! It's incredible. He said that levitation of objects is a little more advanced, and I should start with the small things, like focusing energy and studying spells. And that's what we're doing right now.
"Steady--steady--don't let it slip. Keep it growing. Can you feel it?" Nygrune is coaching me as I try to channel magic into my hands.
"I'm trying. I think it's there." I close my eyes and focus.
"It's taking the form of heat. That's normal," he says. I can feel something, but my hands are more cold than hot. I open my eyes and watch my fingers tremble.
A hiss bubbles up from the stove.
"Oh, is dinner ready?" I ask, pausing my practice. Nygrune walks over to the pot and takes off the lid.
"Yeah, just about. We can stop for the day now, if you want. Here, come help me with this."
I join him at the stove, and together we finish the delicate procedure of making soup.
"I want to start with spells after we're done here," I say, taking a spoonful of carrots.
"Okay, but you'll have to finish your energy training before you can do most of them. A lot of spellmakers didn't cater to those who couldn't manipulate magic." I watch Nygrune spill broth on the table as he tries to blow on it. He doesn't look like someone who would know these things. I turn my attention back to my bowl.
"You'd better not try to read while you eat," I smile. "Your books will end up ruined." Nygrune barely blinks.
"You're the one learning," he replies. "I should be telling you."
I laugh. "You're right, I should have seen that coming. How about neither of us does?"
"I guess, although I'd hate to lose the extra page." We're both laughing now, and later I make sure to pester him about spells again while we wash the dishes. And of course, I then proceed to stay up half the night studying them.
I decide to maybe drag Nygrune along with me when I leave again, or follow him if he has more important work to do. Learning magic is great, but it might take a while.
~End RP. It's not as good as yours, but I'm very excited that Lycaella gets to learn magic. I had no idea Nygrune was going to be so awesome!
Mexi says kwmd. Kiwi mode? Mexi, are you suggesting that we make a version of Kyngdom where we're all kiwis?

And now that sounds weird... Sorry!
I wanted to ask about how you see Lycaella and Nygrune's relationship. Like, are they to become more than friends? Right now they're best friends, of course, and I'm more than okay with it staying that way. I just wanted to know if it's going to change. Also, Lycaella can cook pretty well. I don't know if you knew that.
My other question: Is Nygrune going to go anywhere? Lycaella wants to travel to the west for a bit, and then probably north, but she'll tag along if Nygrune has to go somewhere for the FAFA. I think they might want to stay close for the next however long, though, for Lycaella's magic-learning.

I don't know what *glub* the underwater ball is but am determined to find out.

Hello! The underwater ball kind of already ended... There's a thread about that, the Underwater Ball Gossip thread, and then later it continues onto the my mother and Aslahari threads. So yes, your post is a little random, but that's okay.

@Viola, I thought that Nygrune could come with Viola and start teaching more people in the Resistance against Catastrophe. As of current, Nygrune does not know all magic, and a very important plot development will happen, thanks to this magic...

Sorry I didn't reply until now. School and stuff crept up behind me when I wasn't looking, and yesterday it pounced. So I have a lot to do, but I'll post whenever I can.

Ideas:
Go west immediately (learn while traveling; get outside-world experience, run into people, possibly become re-entangled in the messy web of looking for the Powers)
Stay in New Windswood for a while (introduce Nygrune's brother, don't worry about weather, possibly get noticed by nosy people in town, people run into us)
I don't know if anyone knew, but Nygrune has a brother. He doesn't have an official name, but I think Aris Murlock is suitable. He has a house in New Windswood, not too close to Lycaella, which he inherited when he was fairly young from his and Nygrune's parents, who are probably dead. He may be a sort of rogue, daggers and combat and silence and stuff. I don't know if he's trustworthy, but he exists. Ronan, I'm going to leave the desicion up to you whether Nygrune and Lycaella go traveling or stay where they are.

To leave or not to leave? That is the question. Whether 'tis nobler to remain for any who need us to find, or to go and seek them out. Either way, the desicion is Ronan's, and in the meantime I am content to quote Shakespeare while listening to the music in my head.

Hey, does anyone know where Icy is? I haven't seen her around for a while. It's actually been kind of a long time, now that I think about it. Her last post seems to have been weeks ago...
