Here's more!

(From the second girl's perspective, Rampion. Jacob does not appear in this passage.)

~~~~
But now, I was dipping my toe into the rivers of Yesterday. I would have much rather stayed in Yesterday for the rest of my life, rather than meet Today. I had grown very whimsical over the past few months.
I had to, if I wanted to remember the waters of Yesterday. They didn't want me, but I want them so. They wouldn't let me back forever, but I forced them to let me visit.
And then when I didn't want them. They would pour down on me, nearly drowning me. I certainly preferred it on my own terms.
The birds cared nothing for the brooks of Yesterday, nor the lands of Tomorrow. They preferred the skies of Today. And I understood it, in a way.
For in Yesterday, they did not exist. And in Tomorrow, it would be their descendants' turn to fight. To breathe. To live and die.
So they were happy with their skies of Today. The lands of Tomorrow stretched out so far, that I could not see all of them. And so I was daunted.
I did not search for human compatriots. I had not needed them most of my life, why should I start to depend on them now? And so, I was satisfied.
In a way. I knew I could never be satisfied. Not truly. In a half sort of way, yes. I was contented with Today, although I yearned for the oceans of Yesterday.
And so I kept myself for quite a time. But had I listened to the birds, I would have heard things. Tidings of war, and pain.
A battle had been fought a couple hours flight from here. A great battle. Many men were killed.
And little did I know; Etrusia was on the warpath. But soon these tides of blood would seep into my puddles of Yesterday, and would be taken back up into the clouds of Today, and finally run through the land's veins in Tomorrow.
For soon enough, the birds flew away in terror. I looked up, to find the second man I had met in my life. I tried to scramble back into my cave before he saw me, but it was only a futile attempt.
1. Is this too poetic?
2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much to you want to read more?
3. Do you like Rampion?
4. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you want to know about her backstory?
Only a little. Maybe stop using 'Yesturday' and 'Today' so much.
6
yes. Is she Rapunzle?
Well, I think she's Rapinzle, so I kind of already have an idea, but maybe and 8
She is Rapunzel. Rampion is the English word for Rapunzel. Rapunzel is German.
Thought so. In the original fairy tale, Rapunzel's father steals Rampion from the witch's garden, and in return the witch demands his daughter. He gives his daughter to the witch, fearing his own life, and then the witch names the daughter Rapunzel, which means Rampion in her own language. I guess the witch is German!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooOooooOOOOOOOoooooooooooo..............
Cool! I'm always fascinated by stuff like that! For instance, I was amazed (Okay, I actually just found it amazingly interesting and it made sense) when I learned that the word ingnite comes from I think the name of a fire god Ingnius or something! I MEAN, THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!!!!
I love it when all the pieces click together. I mean, it's awesome in books and just as good in real life. I'm learning how to write and read Greek and it is AWESOME! Already things make sense.
Random fact: The Greek word 'Logos' means 'word'.
I am too. I wanted to translate Rampion into Italian, since she lives in a Itanianesque world, but the internet doesn't recognize the word. :(
