Is this too sappy? As far as fairy tales go, NO DEFINITELY NOT. I know Gared thinks different, but I think it's pretty great. The only thing I'll criticize slightly is the descriptions. The dress and her face are described almost to the point of dragging on. BUT THE REST OF IT IS GREAT. Don't get me wrong.
Do you like Ara? I really like how you gave her a deep character in just a few sentences. So, yes, I do.
Is she too frank with him? I don't think so. If her character is meant to be outspoken, then I think it's perfect.
What I like about it: a lot of stuff. Mainly the characters' personality. Actaully, I'm going to have to say one more thing. The last sentence does seem a bit sappy, but it's fine. Apparently a lot of people like the sappy romance genre. Definitely not me, though I easily let some stuff pass.
Overall: Cho, you've got a great talent for writing, though I don't think you need me to tell you that. Keep going!

It's cool, but yeah... too sappy. Most of the original fairy tales involved blood and gore.

Yes, I know that. However, I picked some of the "classic" fairy tales. (Trust me, I have read every single fairy tale I can get my hands on. Baba Yaga, The Robber Bridesgroom ... Those are actually some of my favorites.)
However, this is intended as a romance. And also as an appropriate YA transition. I know I'm not going to be able to satisfy everyone, but thank you for your time and feedback.
