|"-They should never end,-" Lyra agrees. "-There should be a rule against ending afternoons like this.-" We finish our ice cream, and she adds, "-Want to walk some more?-"|
|"I'd love that," I tell her, getting up. I've already paid for the ice cream, so we wander forward along the winding paths of the park. I find myself almost hoping we'll get lost, maybe when we turn that bend where the path is snowy with fallen cherry petals or when we go through that stand of pine trees. As long as we're lost in spring. On one of the most wonderful afternoons I've ever experienced. And together.|
|"I feel like I must have asked this before, but what's your favorite book?" I ask.|

-"|I'd love that,|" he says, getting up. We continue wandering along the paths of the park. This park is really beautiful, especially on beautiful cherry blossom days like this one.-

-”My favorite books? Well, it is very hard to choose, and I can’t really say I have one favorite, but right now, I think the Chronicles of Narnia,” I reply. “What about you?”-

|"I can never decide," I say. "I love the Chronicles too, though." I slip an arm around her for a moment. "What would you say if we could walk straight into Narnia - if it was just behind those cherry trees?" Of course we can't, but for right now, I feel that nothing's impossible - or, more accurately, that it doesn't matter if it's impossible.|

-"That really feels entirely possible right now," I say. We walk in that direction, and past the cherry trees, it is mostly green grass with more cherry trees - except one last melting patch of snow. "I suppose that can be our Narnia," I laugh.-

|"Who knew Narnia was so amazing?" I ask, laughing too. "I think it's during The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - Aslan's just arrived, so the snow is melting." I gesture to the last bit of snow. "Or maybe it's like in the fairy tales - when the prince and princess come, the spell of winter is broken. That seems likely, especially since you're obviously the princess..."|

|"It's amazing, isn't it?" I agree. "Some people say there isn't magic in the world, but they've clearly never really noticed the world. So spring arrives... and what happens after that? Has the fairy tale ended, the way all fairy tales do?" And the prince and princess got married...|

-"Hard to say," I reply, smiling. "I enjoy movies like Inside Out, and also the Chronicles of Narnia movie remake. The Harry Potter movies were also nice. What about you?"-

|"The Narnia movies were fairly good," I say, remembering them. "I never watched the Harry Potter ones, though, and I never heard of Inside Out. I like some adventure movies, and, well, um..." I've never told anyone about this, but can't I tell Lyra? "I've watched some of Ibis's favorites with her, like Freaky Friday, and they weren't that bad either. Anyway, what's Inside Out like?"|

"|I've watched some of Ibis's favorites with her, like Freaky Friday, and they weren't that bad either. Anyway, what's Inside Out like?|"-
-"I've heard of Freaky Friday. I've always wanted to try watching it," I say. "Inside Out's a Disney animation movie. It's about a girl named Riley whose emotions are personified. I enjoyed watching it, especially when I was younger. Honestly, it's a pretty good movie now. What's Freaky Friday about?"-

"It's about a girl and her mom who don't understand each other at all, and then they kind of switch bodies - like, the daughter finds herself looking like her mom, and her mom finds herself looking like her daughter. And then they have to figure out how to switch back again. It's hilarious, and it has great music. It was originally a book, but then Disney adapted it into a movie - it isn't one of their animated ones, though." I glance around, at the sunlight slanting through the outburst of greenery around us, at the pink and white blossoms on the trees, and let myself sink into the moment. It's worth living.|

-So I also let myself pause to enjoy the moment, holding hands with him and thoroughly admiring the scenery and the happiness I feel. Finally, I say, "Well, that movie sounds really nice! Maybe we should go to a movie theatre together one day to watch some movies."-

|I smile; I love Lyra's enthusiasm. "We should," I agree. "It would be amazing. Which movie would you want to see?"|
