I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any suggestions on how to get my sister on the CB? She's almost 10, and I keep asking her but she keeps saying no. I know I should just leave her alone about it... but you guys know how fun it is here, and I think she would love it!!

Well... to be honest, I think if she's nine years old she might still be a little young for the CB, both because of the general age range of the people on here (the kinds of things we talk about might not be what a nine-year-old would be most interested in) and because I don't really think younger children should be introduced to socializing online very much. If she herself isn't interested anyway, maybe she would enjoy it more in a year or two, when she's a little older! And if you want to share the CB with her, you can still show her all the things you find interesting and see if she enjoys them too :)

Yeah, almost 10 does seem a little young.... and I've noticed, the more you want your siblings to do something, the more they DON't want to do it. So I'd suggest waiting maybe 2 or 3 more years, and then suggesting it again :)

why make a picture of your oc when you can procrastinate your english homework by searching the ~world wide web~ for a portrait that matches your very specific mental image of them??
(if anyone is curious, the painting i settled on was 'portrait of aflaia coronia' by dante gabriel rossetti. the name aflaia in itself is rather pretty and unusual and i think i might name another oc that.)

haha, I'm much the same - except I usually use photos from magazines and catalogues. I have a whole Tupperware on my desk filled with photos of people (and also buildings, landscapes, places, and animals). I label each photo on the back with the date I got it and keep it until I find a character I can use it for. Oddly enough some of the photos keep reminding me of how I imagine CBers. I do also keep an eye out when I'm watching videos or movies, for people who look like my charries :)
I looked up the painting you mentioned! It does give a good idea of the subject's personality. It was labeled as "Aglaia Coronia," though, not "Aflaia", for some reason??
Iffy says <nuwig>! Iffy, why are you upset that you have no wig? I keep telling you this, you're a guinea pig. Guinea pigs don't need wigs, of all things.

WHY i am so easily distracted. like one minute i'm making excellent progress on my essay and then i need to look something up real quick and the next thing i know i'm researching medieval timekeeping and medicinal techniques :/
(also if anyone sees me posting anything on the cb in the next hour or so i fully give you permission to say "excuse me pangolin i believe you have an english essay due monday and it will not write itself")
