i find it so crazy how people like elon musk and jeff bezos exist. like no one needs a hundred billion dollars, you could be doing great things with that money but no, you decide to be a [redacted].
the whole concept of money and income and wealth is so crazy too, how many people are impoverished when people like them have more money than the ycould ever spend. my parents were saying how we are probably wealthier than the majority of the people on earth-- if you split the population down the middle in terms of wealth, we'd be part of the rich 50% of the population. yet still the only stores we can afford to shop at are secondhand and discount and my dad can't take time off work to get a surgery because he thinks we wouldn't be able to eat. and everyone that goes to my school is wealthier than us.
on a semi related note when i tried to type jeff bezos it autocorrected to belos cause i type that so often

Like once you reach a certain level of income, the government should just prevent you from making more money and use the excess to fund schools or something. (Of course, that's assuming that the government would be responsible, which is a very foolish assumption to make.) I calculated it once and I think that Elon Musk could give $300,000 to every homeless person in America and still have a million left over.

It's so weird how income inequality is such a huge problem, but no one does anything about it, or even talks about it very much. Especially since DEI is such a thing right now - wouldn't you think that, since everyone's concerned about equity, they would be thinking about income equity too? Anyway, I'm so glad you brought this up, Tsuki, and I agree with you and Lupine completely.
I'm actually thinking of making a thread where we can talk about what an ideal world would look like, and how to help that ideal world happen - I should get around to that...

I've been thinking of making another Make a Friend. I want to know: would anyone be interested in that (I need to have enough people to do it), would you prefer I make the groups as I go or on a specific date (I personally think it works better on a specific date, but more recent MaFs have done it as they go), and would it be okay if, rather than do it on DtE, I did it on CaC or This Month, because DtE is a little busy?
