Okay, here's my

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Book Quotes!
Okay, here's my...

Okay, here's my first book quote:

"Only two hours," she sighed. "That will be half past one; Mother will be at Cousin Ann's, the children at home will have had their dinner, and Hannah cleared all away. I have some lunch, because Mother said it would be a bad beginning to get to the brick house hungry and have Aunt Mirandy have to get me something to eat the first thing.-It's a good growing day, isn't it?"

First one to guess the book gets to post the next quote! Good luck! If no one guesses it by the 20th, I'll post another quote.

Thank you, TTT.

@Oregano

Is it.... gonna go out on a limb here... from a Tolkien book?

No.  I've (admittedly) only read The Hobbit.  I'll read the others this summer maybe.  Alongside sewing curtains.  But not at the same time.

I know that you won't be around here that much, so I'm hoping that you see this post, but...Can you please tell us what your book quote is? I'm dying to know!

OK.  OK.  Sure.  The Chosen, by Chaim Potok.

OH . . . I read that book a long time ago and loved it! I'd completely forgotten about it. Thanks for reminding me, Oregano. I think there are other good books by Potok, too.

Can I go?

I will go ahead and put the quote. It's really hard to find a quote that doesn't have one of the character's names in it.

'It was like the place was under a terrible spell, like in dopey Sleeping Beauty, she thought, or dopier Snow White, or one of those other fairy tales *blank* knew by heart. '

You'll probably get this really quick.

So, who goes next? If nobody guessed Oregano's book then who goes next? Can't see Lizzy's post yet...

Top!

Ordi says: ytop. Why am I topping this? Because it shouldn't die!

Umm... Ugh...  I can't guess.

Okay, I admit it. I am not good at ALL at this game! :-)  If you haven't guessed yet, I don't know which book Lizzy's quote comes from. I'm not saying that I haven't read very many books (I have read a LOT!), it's just that I haven't read any of the books that you guys have quoted from. :-)  Needless to say, I will still be posting here (well, mostly to say that I don't know the answer! :-D), and I hope you guys guess the quote soon! :-)

You have read this book Princess P. You said so on the May book count. (I probably just gave it away)

I have definitely never heard that one! Then again, that's what I thought about the Chasing Vermeer quote when I read it, and I must have read that book at least three times. The "dopey Sleeping Beauty" quote kind of reminds me of the Sisters Grimm, though.

Well, you probably can't completely give it away since I read 30 or so books in May, so that's how many books I have to guess. :-)

I'm going to go with...The Penderwicks?

Yes you guessed it. I thought that quote was kind of funny. Do you know who said it?

Now you say, it's really familiar.  :/  So, it's the narrator who says it, but she's speaking from Rosalind's point of view.
