Chatterbox: In This Month's Issue
White Elephant Game!
Hey everyone!! The holiday season is rapidly approaching (or maybe it’s already here? that’s what the stores that have been blasting Christmas songs since November first seem to think, anyway) so I thought I’d bring back this game. I’m just going to copy and paste the rules from the last White Elephant Game (posted by Partridge on TM).
Here's how this will work:
1. Under an alias, post a description of the wrappings of an imaginary gift by December 1st.
3. After December 1st, we will choose gifts in the order of description posted. I’ll post a list of the order we’ll be choosing in :)
4. When someone has chosen your gift, reply to them revealing what it is. It could be something real, such as a poem or drawing, or something imaginary, like a puppy or a jar of stardust. Also, reveal your identity!
5. Once you receive your gift, respond with a thank-you! That's only polite! :)
RULES:
- Post your gift description by December 1st
- Post under an alias, not your CBer name.
- Wrap your gift creatively!
- Don't reveal your own identity until someone claims your gift. If the gift you choose turns out to be a picturing or something else that requires your CBer identity, you can make an exception.
- Remember to post!
- Have fun!
I'll post my gift when this thread shows up :)

My gift is wrapped in shrouds of golden glory encasing a jumbled collection of joy. Curious strands of silver confetti reach out towards the pine-needle-strewn ground, surrounding the gift in a halo of hope. Music plays faintly in the distance, and a feeling of happiness and warmth surrounds you. It smells like apple pie...

My gift is wrapped in a sheet of golden stardust and gives off an eerie purple glow. It has a curious shape, like a mishmash of an elephant, umbrella, and chandelier, and whenever you look at it you get the strange sense that all is right in the world. Birds sing merrily in its presence, but are they really merry or is everything just an illusion...?

My gift is a small box wrapped in newspapers from an antique printing press—the letters are slightly smudged and irregular, and the pages are crinkling, but it does its job of covering up what’s inside. It's tied up with red ribbon, with a card slipped beneath the bow.

My gift is perfectly square wrapped in a collage made from pictures and magazines. Some words move over the different colored pieces of paper in magazine font. Words like cozy, and sudoku, and mystical. The bow of this present is a glowing ball with tendrils of light that snake over the pictures and even more strands spirals up and out like bed head. It is tucked back in the corner and while colorful and happy, has an air of quiet mystery that draws attention away from it.

My gift is wrapped in the cartoons pages of the newspaper, cobbled together with too many pieces of tape in a way that makes it very clear that whoever wrapped it is not very good at all. It has some little doodles drawn on in sharpie- a bumblebee, a flower, a snowman, and a healthy dose of smiley faces. There's plain twine wrapped around it, tied off into a bow at the top. The gift is cool to the touch and relatively flat looking. Looking closer, there's a slight sprinkling of silver glitter dusted on top, and it catches the light playfully.

My gift is wrapped in snowflakes, white silky fabric, threads of silver and gold, sparkly stardust, and tied with a ribbon made of polished strands of silk and clouds, with a frosty feel

my gift is wrapped in a glowing shroud of light, sparkling fabric made by the wind and snow themselves. it is tied with a ribbon of hope, justice, and love that will give the opener a sense of love and hope that the giver hopes may aide them in this devious quest called Life.

My gift~
It is wrapped in frost sparkling in the morning sun, with a ribbon of evergreen needles tied around the middle both directions. The frost is an explosion of flower patterns over the small square package. A feather of red is tucked under the evergreen bow, and the sound of snow silence emanates from it. And when it hits the light just right, it not only shines brighter, but the frost turns white to gold.
