Chatterbox: In This Month's Issue
White Elephant Game!
Hey everyone!! The holiday season is rapidly approaching (or maybe it’s already here? that’s what the stores that have been blasting Christmas songs since November first seem to think, anyway) so I thought I’d bring back this game. I’m just going to copy and paste the rules from the last White Elephant Game (posted by Partridge on TM).
Here's how this will work:
1. Under an alias, post a description of the wrappings of an imaginary gift by December 1st.
3. After December 1st, we will choose gifts in the order of description posted. I’ll post a list of the order we’ll be choosing in :)
4. When someone has chosen your gift, reply to them revealing what it is. It could be something real, such as a poem or drawing, or something imaginary, like a puppy or a jar of stardust. Also, reveal your identity!
5. Once you receive your gift, respond with a thank-you! That's only polite! :)
RULES:
- Post your gift description by December 1st
- Post under an alias, not your CBer name.
- Wrap your gift creatively!
- Don't reveal your own identity until someone claims your gift. If the gift you choose turns out to be a picturing or something else that requires your CBer identity, you can make an exception.
- Remember to post!
- Have fun!
I'll post my gift when this thread shows up :)

oooo BOOKZ
I like any genre! Just not horror stories ;) But I especially like fantasy, adventure, and romance.

Perfect! I just read an amazing book recently that it sounds like you would really like! Divine Rivals, by Rebecca Ross. It has fantasy, adventure and romance! I hope you like it!

Wonderful! I'll read it first chance I get and report back to you :)

I choose your gift!

You slowly untie the ribbon, the texture both silky and frosty. You unfold the crinkly snowflake wrappings, and uncover...a mysterious scroll.
The scroll reads,
Merry Christmas! You get a poem with a topic (within reasonability) of your choice! Respond with the topic and you'll get the poem magically received back!

Cool! How about a poem about flowers? I like flowers
(December 19, 2023 - 4:13 pm)
Written slowly, magically on the letter, is a poem about flowers...
Flowers
A bouquet of flowers
Wilted on the grass
Faded dry pink petals
A thing of the past
A vase of flowers
Elegant cut red roses
Beauty gone with time
But there's a place I know is
Filled with flowers
A colorful dotted hill
And even after eternity
The flowers remain, still
Individual flowers
Letting their petals flow
They'd wilt, spread their seeds
And new ones will grow
---
Hope you like it!

I choose Golden Snow's gift :D

Slowly, the frost melts away, to reveal a fine print of words.
Hello! This gift is some wintery songs!
Carol of the Bells by Lindsey Stirling~ There is no lyrics, and Lindsey is playing a magical song on her violin! I love twirling like snowflakes to this song :)
Wind of Winter by Fiona Kelleher~ It's just really pretty!
Winter Snow by Claudia Robin Gunn~ an upbeat sounding, snowing lyric song!
Winter Song by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson~ It's sweet and soothing to me :)
Winter Things by Ariana Grande~ It's got a good beat and, well, it's Ariana Grande!
White Winter by Pentatonix~ It's such a pretty version of this song, they did a great job with it!
I suppose thats enough! I also offer a book recommendation- what genres do you like? You don't have to accept that though if you don't want, just something extra ;)

Ooh, tysm!! I'll look those up as soon as possible, they look lovely :> For a book rec, I love fantasy (as long as it doesn't have excessive violence) and, if it must be confessed, romcoms. Again, thank you :DD

Your welcome! As for that book suggestion.... hmmm. I suggest either Land of Stories by Chris Colfer, or Emily Windsnap by Liz Kessler. They are both really good fantasy, though I find Land of Stories more amusing, exciting, and fairy tale-y. Though there is a lot of fighting evil-related things, it isn't all that discribing in the fighting sense, if you know what I mean.

Thank you!! They sound fascinating :) New books are always so wonderful.
