Writing/Art Contest
Writing/Art Contest
There have been things like this in the past, and I decided to bring it back.
So, you will team up with a partner. Each pair will have one writer and one artist. The judge will give you a theme and a deadline. The writer will write a story or a poem (maximum 100 words) relating to the theme, and the artist will make a piece of art relating to the theme. It's nice if they go together, but they don't have to.
At the deadline, the judge will judge the entries. The winners will become the next judge.
The first theme is growing. You could try something about plants, or children, or science, or something else entirely.
The deadline is two and a half weeks from now, September 9. I know people's schools are starting, and you'll need to find your partners, so I can extend the deadline if needed.
Good luck, and have fun!

Gee, I'm bad at judging XD
Kitten and Viola? - It's gonna be so hard to judge this because I love this poem (As I do the other). I love how the first two stanzas feel rushed and simplistic, like the MC can't remember the details. The last stanza is the description of the person she meets, saying as that is the highlight of their day. The Picture is really simple, which I love, because it lets in another way to think that all the people who haven't interacted with the two aren't really remembered. The two characters in the center are more detailed, and I like that because the two characters in the poem are also a lot more detailed than the rest. I think that it was a great cooperation between the two of you.
Bluebird and September - I personally can't relate to this poem, but I think some of my friends can. I love how it was so metaphorical with the "wall of insecurities" that the MC has built around herself and that the character is trapped in a mental maze. I also think that the ending stanza is great, when the two characters resolve their differences by accepting each other and breaking the glass between them. The picture is so detailed, so unlike the other, yet still so great. The character has the perfect expression on her face to match how she's feeling, and the view from behind the MC is beautiful. I love how the MC is touching the glass, like she wants to get through, but doesn't know how. The MC is also the only one who is truly colored in, and has any defining features at all. I enjoy that all of the detail is put into one person.
UGH I have the feeling that this is going to be VERY hard to judge.

Yes! They're magnificent, aren't they?
I think Kitten and Viola should win and judge the next round.
(January 17, 2018 - 8:13 pm)
Agh, sorry. I agree.

Yes! Kitten, did you see that? We won! *throws confetti*
(January 24, 2018 - 8:07 pm)
Oh yay! We won?! Watcha wanna do for the next topic?
(January 27, 2018 - 11:20 am)
Yes! I don't know, maybe friendship? The middle of the night? Friendship in the middle of the night?
(January 28, 2018 - 9:28 am)
Congratulations to both of you! I can't wait for the new theme!
(January 28, 2018 - 8:35 pm)
Snowdrops and marmalade! Banana suit! Fantasy!
Yeah, I'm just throwing stuff at the wall now. Metaphorically, of course.
(January 30, 2018 - 9:35 pm)
Sorry I disappeared yet again. I liked friendship, but maybe we could do something similar but more... open-ended? Like hello? Or hands?
Marmalade actually sounds cool, because it's so different from all the other kinds of things people do.
(February 3, 2018 - 6:00 pm)
Friendship, hands, marmalade. Sounds like a picnic.
Let's maybe go with marmalade or hands. Marmalade hands? :3
(February 7, 2018 - 12:15 pm)
Marmalade.
(February 9, 2018 - 10:05 am)
All right, marmalade it is! Deadline in, say, two or three weeks?
(February 10, 2018 - 12:08 pm)
The new category is marmalade. The deadline is three weeks from now, March 5. Have fun!
(February 12, 2018 - 10:24 pm)
So we already have our idea right? I'll DM you the story by way of chat :)
