Writing/Art Contest
Writing/Art Contest
There have been things like this in the past, and I decided to bring it back.
So, you will team up with a partner. Each pair will have one writer and one artist. The judge will give you a theme and a deadline. The writer will write a story or a poem (maximum 100 words) relating to the theme, and the artist will make a piece of art relating to the theme. It's nice if they go together, but they don't have to.
At the deadline, the judge will judge the entries. The winners will become the next judge.
The first theme is growing. You could try something about plants, or children, or science, or something else entirely.
The deadline is two and a half weeks from now, September 9. I know people's schools are starting, and you'll need to find your partners, so I can extend the deadline if needed.
Good luck, and have fun!

It's two days past the deadline...
(November 16, 2017 - 8:22 am)
It's ok! I forgot about it too. I'm also extremely busy, so thanks for dropping out! XD
(November 17, 2017 - 8:08 pm)
Oh, well I'm glad you don't mind. I was afraid you might be disappointed, but in that case, you're very welcome. XD
(November 21, 2017 - 2:25 pm)
So, who won?
(November 18, 2017 - 8:48 pm)
Yeah, do you guys think we should judge now?
(November 18, 2017 - 10:58 pm)
@everyone, results will hoepfully be up soon!
(November 18, 2017 - 11:36 pm)
Super super super sorry for the delay, but here they are at long last!!! It was so hard to judge— there were so many great entries!
In third place. . .
Kitten and Viola!
We thought that the poem and image went well together, and that the wolf sketch was really realistic! Great job!
In second place. . .
Sprocket and Saggitarius!
We absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVED your chainsaw/forest analogy— it was super close between your entry and Brown Bear & Lucy's! It was a really cool twist on the theme! Great job!
And in first place. . .
Brown Bear and Lucy!
We loved the symbolism depicted in both the poem and the drawing! We felt that your entry was the most closely tied to the theme, and we thought that your entry really portrayed your ideas really well.
Congratulations to all of you! Brown Bear and Lucy, you're in charge of the new theme!
(November 23, 2017 - 3:30 am)
Should we start thinking of a theme soon?
(November 25, 2017 - 1:13 pm)
Hey, thanks so much, September and Bluebird! I loved reading all the entries.
Lucy - Absolutely! Do you have an idea?
(November 25, 2017 - 7:54 pm)
The only good idea I could think of is Acceptance. I think that would be a really deep thing to dwell on, and there would be a lot of different things people could do with it. Do you think that's good, or should we do something else?
(November 27, 2017 - 12:42 am)
I love it! Let's do it.
Okay everyone, as Lucy said, the new theme is Acceptance.
As of right now, deadline is December 15!
(November 30, 2017 - 7:32 pm)
Awesome!
(November 30, 2017 - 11:37 pm)
Ooh, acceptance! I was thinking about a new kid or something?
(December 2, 2017 - 12:46 pm)
Ooh, cool! I'm seeing a desk by a window with a tree outside, those little comfortable places you find your first days, a friendly person or two, the eyes, the body language... Of course, we could also attempt to navigate getting into school in the first place, taking some sort of offer (as small as hanging out with a friend to as large as an important job), coming to terms with death (your own or another's)...
(December 4, 2017 - 8:30 pm)
Wow, even the suggestion of it is off-limits? Nice edit, though, the gap isn't obvious.
