ART POSTING
(Subject not going through....Third time's the charm...??)
Art stuff thread starting...NOW! If you draw stuff, you can post it here! I draw in a sort of anime/manga/toon style, but if you don't, don't let that stop you from posting your stuff! I would love to see other people's art so post away! They can be OCs, fan art, or just random stuff. You can use any media, including digital, like I do! Just to let you chatterboxers know, I started this thread so we can share our tricks of the trade with each other. Feel free to: ask questions about how to draw certain things, post techniques, share art, and mostly HAVE FUN! If you draw your OCs, feel free to share information about them such as their names and that sort of thing. Same goes for fan art since not all of us know where these characters are from. You don't have to be polished with your art. I myself am just a beginner at anime/manga/toon. I'm not good at hands so if any of my hands looks particularly cruddy, you know why. I also struggle sometimes with feet so same goes for that. If any of you know how to draw a particularly good hand or foot, feel free to share your trick for it.
Going to post a picture of my OC, Tuxedo, if this post goes through okay.

hey guys, story teller here. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for companies if I am looking for markers. I don’t need a new set just yet but I have no skin tone marker as of now and if you’re a people drawer like me that’s a bit of an emergency. Thanks!

Are ya looking for alcohol based markers of a different type?
(April 23, 2018 - 7:22 pm)
I dunno if I have posted this yet or not. Either way. Here are some sketchy characters from a web series I'm watching! I've been experimenting with designs and anatomy over the past few days so at the moment the style is a bit awkward.

honestly, any type of mark would do. I’m starting to ink old drawings.

Markers...let's see...
Good old Crayola Supertips are always a great option. I have the 100 pack, which has plenty of colors and comes in a nice box. They're a good all-around marker, and at a good price, too.
Another marker I absolutely LOVE are the Tombow Dual Brush Pens. They feel great in your hand, they write and draw wonderfully, and they blend great, too. They're waterbased, and the colors are gorgeous. They're more expensive, but they're high-quality, too.
I've been researching alcohol markers recently, and there a quite a few brands of those, some cheaper and some more expensive. I haven't tried any myself yet, but they look like very nice markers.
I hope this helps!

Yeah, most alcohol markers are very good for blending, shading, and just generally getting much better tones on your artwork than most markers. I just use a cheap set - it actually works very well. I think it depends on what effect you're looking for. I don't have much experience within the world of alcohol markers, but as I said, compared to most markers on the market, I would say go for alcohol. Just NEVER go for REEEEEEEAAAAAALY finely tipped ones. I used to use ones like that and.... ugh. NEVER ask me to colour in large spaces of one specific colour with a tiny fine-tipped pen. It takes AGES and doesn't actually look that good for making hadows. Blurgh, just my experience, though.
Also, Embarrassed, we're getting a mite confused about who is who. For the person who may be impersonating you, it's kind of an unspoken agreement here (I WOULD ASSUME *Looks haughtilly at everyone in the room*) that you never use someone else's pen name. Things just get so screwed up and then people post what they're sure the person meant to have said and then people say things like; "Not my problem" or, "BIKKIT!" and then it just goes bleh. And that is why you never try to impersonate someone, boys an' girls. It gets so confusing, and of course if you're a prince impersonating a pauper, BETTTER HOPE YOUR LONG-LOST TWIN WHO IS A PAUPER IS WILLIN' TO GIVE UP THE CROWN ONCE YOU COME WALTZING HOME 'CAUE OTHERWISE YOU'RE GONNA BE SLEEPIN' IN A BARREL TONIGHT. One that smells suspiciously of apples, I might add.

Here's a piece of my cat OC Dodol that I painted last weekend! It was the first piece I've painted in a really long time, and I have to say I'm very pleased with how it came out. It was also a redraw of something I did last year, and it's really a step up in quality from that.
(April 24, 2018 - 7:56 pm)
Whoa, you painted that, CL? I have serious respect right now! My paintings, unless I'm inspired, are just very... eh. But that's simply amazing! Also, happy 15th birthday-- I haven't posted on your thread yet but I meant to. :)
(April 24, 2018 - 8:18 pm)
Ah thank you! I should say that it's a digital painting, in case that's not clear... but it did take around 4 or 5 hours to finish. And thanks for the birthday wishes. :)

Hi everyone, I just want to say that all of these drawings look amazing! Also, @Danie, I love Critical Role and your Nott And Caleb are fantastic!

Hey, Dracones! I saw your intro thread but I haven't posted yet. :) I'm Ssh... Not Telling (but of course you know that by now). I'm an active CBer who chooses to use a pseudonym for art (but I operate under my 'real' name on the rest of the CB). Welcome! Do you like dragons? I recognize the Latin. "Here are the dragons", right? Hope to see you around!
(April 29, 2018 - 2:32 pm)
Hi Ssh! Nice to meet you! I absolutely love dragons, and I figured this would be a unique name to go by.
(April 29, 2018 - 10:49 pm)
I love dragons too! Hm, looking back, I haven't posted any dragon sketches, but I should do that eventually. :)

I've been experimenting with drawing eyes digitally. Of course, I was looking at images of eyes from a webcomic for reference, but I'm gonna pretend that doesn't matter right now.
Here's my first try:

Here are two more. All of them look terrible up close. I was doing them really zoomed in, pixel by pixel.
Please don't look up close. ;)
