Hello, it's me
Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board
Hello, it's me
Hello, it's me again!
This is my first thread, and it's going to focus on my charrie Lycaella, her mom and her friend Nygrune. It's for following our adventures while we're not in a place or situation covered by another thread. 'We' because Ronan has asked to be Nygrune, to which of course I said yes.
Someone (I think Icy) said that B.I.G. and Catstrophe actually dislike each other. It makes sense, so... Just to let you know.
I'll begin where I left off on the Underwater Ball thread, with Lycaella and Nygrune planning to do some spying of a sort. They've asked Lycaella's mom to show them her notes, so I'll fast-forward to that.
Lycaella~
"Oh, so you're giving them their shadows back?"
We are sitting on a rug in my mom's room, reading her notes. I can't make sense of half the words, but she tells Nygrune and I what it means. Apparently, Catastrophe has found a way to separate shadows from their owners' bodies, and to keep him from creating a shadow army and destroying everything, B.I.G. has been researching it. They've managed to figure out how he did it, and are testing ways to reattach the shadows to their owners.
"Well, that's one way of putting it," my mom says. "We believe it will be beneficial to all of Kyngdom."
"I don't really understand this one... How would they sew them back on?" I ask.
"I believe it's with a special sort of thread, Ella," Mom says. "Let's see now..."
Nygrune finds it first. "A needle made from the bone of a magic or mythical being, preferably with thread also made from a magical material."
"Yes," my mom says, "Although personally I think that a binding spell shows more promise." I raise an eyebrow. She doesn't usually like magic this much. Out of nowhere, I yawn. Mom and Nygrune look at me like I'm disrupting something.
"Sorry," I say. "I'm getting kind of tired. You two can keep reading, I don't mind."
My mom nods. I hear her calling after me as I leave the room.
"Remember to brush your teeth!"
~End RP.
It actually is getting kind of late, so I should go. I hope this works out.

Ooh yes! I got the reference! Yes! *punches both fists into air*
(June 23, 2017 - 8:27 pm)
Yeah, it's fine with me, Etoile!
(Also, I just reread my post and saw that Nieke 'glances meaningfully at Hazel'. Just in case of confusion, I meant that she was trying to get Trixie on her same line of thinking so they could apprehend Jaaws/Hazel.)
(June 23, 2017 - 10:46 am)
I understood.

LOTR REFERENCESSSSSSS!!!
Sorry. Hehe.
(June 24, 2017 - 7:45 am)
I think you're doing fine writing Hazel!
(June 24, 2017 - 8:01 am)
Okay. Thanks!

Boof.

Nieke~
Hazel jumps up.
"Trixie," I manage, glancing at her for a moment and then back at Hazel--Hazel's body? Jaaws? Trixie slowly rises, a little awkwardly, like she's been hurt, but suddenly Hazel is falling and Trixie is up and on top of her. Hazel struggles and manages to get out from under Trixie, stumbling back a pace into a defensive stance.
"Stop!" she bellows, and it isn't her voice. "Or I'll come back and kill you both!"
Come back? But she's right--oh. That was Jaaws speaking. I turn my head slowly, looking for the shape of a black dragon.
"I will come back," Haze--Jaaws. Jaaws says through Hazel, "and deal with both of you if you decide to neutralize me now or any time in the future. I won't let you ruin my plans." So she has plans. Plans that could potentially be disrupted just by Trixie and I...
There comes a rustling in the trees off to the side, and suddenly a black shape comes flying in. For a heady moment I think it's Jaaws, but then it's landed and I see it's actually a horse, a horse with a pale, freckled girl dressed in dark colors riding it. She seems familiar.
"What is this?!" Jaaws snarls through Hazel. The girl on the horse looks startled.
"As you can see," I say, "Hazel here is being possessed. By Jaaws."
"No one has tried to kill the source?" the girl asks. Alex's face flashes through my mind.
"It's not that easy," Trixie answers. "Jaaws is very dangerous and powerful."
"Stop talking!" Hazel/Jaaws spits, stepping back a pace. A tense silence falls. The horse raises a hoof, tossing its head nervously, but the girl on its back calms it. She inhales, quiet but long and deliberate, raises her head just a touch and speaks.
Light, blinding light, spills through the trees, and I have no choice but to close my eyes. I hear a roar and then a scream--Hazel's scream. The light fades, and I open my eyes. Trixie crouches next to Hazel, or Hazel's body, who/which is lying on the ground again, repeating "Hazel? Hazel, are you in there?" I look around. Jaaws said she would return. I try to pick up any sound, any glimpse of her.
And then I see it. Black smoke, winding through the forest. And more coming from the other direction, more and more and more...
"Trixie, Nieke!" the girl cries, and I look at her and then back at the smoke, which is forming into a huge spherical cloud above our heads. Hazel's body shudders. The girl shouts just as the cloud explodes, and a curtain of light drops over her and me and Trixie.
When it lifts, the smoke is gone and Hazel is standing, sneering, and Jaaws laughs through her. The girl on the horse crumples, and I spring up to catch her before she falls. I lift her to the ground with some effort and Trixie's help (it's not my fault horses are unreasonably tall), doing my best to ignore Hazel. Jaaws. Whatever. Without its rider, the horse shies. I think it's going to run, and for reasons I can't explain to myself I take its saddlebags off before it does, crashing blindly away through the snow and trees.
Hazel/Jaaws' laugh is abruptly cut off as I tackle her to the ground.

Karune~
I hike for hours, through the night, under the lightening sky. I decide
to head south, away from all the drama, the way I used to walk with
Lilly to work out all the stress, the frustration, the rage and despair
and sorrow. Dawn breaks. The sun comes up, the birds sing. I see a deer,
but it bolts as soon as I take a step towards it. I stop and watch it bound through the forest. That's when I see the poster. "Join the
Animals. Don't be betrayed anymore." Hah. That's nice. Betrayal... Have I
been betrayed? Betrayed by the Resistance, by the boy king, by the
scientists, by the nobles and their walls, walls made heavy to protect
us and then...
When I move on, the paper is gone from the tree.

I'm back, the world can spin again! Or Trixie can post. One of the two.
Viola?, I love the Boof! picture.
I will try to post tomorrow.

Thanks!

Nice sketch Viola?!
@Rae and Viola?, good! I'm glad people got the reference.
Okay, here we go.
~~~~
I jerk forward, taking a huge breath of air. Neike seems to have tied Hazel to a tree with...wait. That's my Elven rope (another reference to LoTR!).
"Neike?" I gasp. I realise there is a hand on my shoulder. I look up and silently thank Trixie for steadying me.
"Yeah, sorry about that. We needed something for the time being, and it was laying around in your satchel."
"That's alright, I-" I look around. "Wait, where's Brego?"
"He fled when you were knocked unconscious," Trixie answers. "We tries to call for him, but," she looks towards Neike. "He kinda just...left."
I mutter in Elvish and hear my voice echo through the trees. The others probably can't hear me, but Brego will. Within seconds, the thunderous sound of a horse's footprints bursts through the forest, and a pair of brown eyes looks at me.
"There you are," I say, hugging his neck. He nods and helps me up.
I look towards Hazel, walking up to her.
"Now let's try to get this monster out of your head."
I concentrate and flow light directly at her, trying to talk to her in her head to convince her to come back. It's all up to what she decides now.
(June 27, 2017 - 10:10 pm)
Good, you brought rope. Never know when that could save your life! (It burnsssssss, precious, it BURNS USSSSS!)
Thanks! I see you're quite a Tolkien elf... In most mythologies, elves were chaotic neutral, to put it in D&D terms. Not bad, but not very good either, often mischevious and troublesome. Helpful to those who can befriend them, though. Tolkien's elves are more like neutral good.
