Hello, it's me
Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board
Hello, it's me
Hello, it's me again!
This is my first thread, and it's going to focus on my charrie Lycaella, her mom and her friend Nygrune. It's for following our adventures while we're not in a place or situation covered by another thread. 'We' because Ronan has asked to be Nygrune, to which of course I said yes.
Someone (I think Icy) said that B.I.G. and Catstrophe actually dislike each other. It makes sense, so... Just to let you know.
I'll begin where I left off on the Underwater Ball thread, with Lycaella and Nygrune planning to do some spying of a sort. They've asked Lycaella's mom to show them her notes, so I'll fast-forward to that.
Lycaella~
"Oh, so you're giving them their shadows back?"
We are sitting on a rug in my mom's room, reading her notes. I can't make sense of half the words, but she tells Nygrune and I what it means. Apparently, Catastrophe has found a way to separate shadows from their owners' bodies, and to keep him from creating a shadow army and destroying everything, B.I.G. has been researching it. They've managed to figure out how he did it, and are testing ways to reattach the shadows to their owners.
"Well, that's one way of putting it," my mom says. "We believe it will be beneficial to all of Kyngdom."
"I don't really understand this one... How would they sew them back on?" I ask.
"I believe it's with a special sort of thread, Ella," Mom says. "Let's see now..."
Nygrune finds it first. "A needle made from the bone of a magic or mythical being, preferably with thread also made from a magical material."
"Yes," my mom says, "Although personally I think that a binding spell shows more promise." I raise an eyebrow. She doesn't usually like magic this much. Out of nowhere, I yawn. Mom and Nygrune look at me like I'm disrupting something.
"Sorry," I say. "I'm getting kind of tired. You two can keep reading, I don't mind."
My mom nods. I hear her calling after me as I leave the room.
"Remember to brush your teeth!"
~End RP.
It actually is getting kind of late, so I should go. I hope this works out.

Maybe Nieke misses the whole thing somehow (knocked out, thrown somewhere she can't see from, etc.) and has to choose who she believes. Wait, can Jaaws possess more than one body at a time?
(June 19, 2017 - 8:53 am)
Yes, Jaaws can. She possessed Eli and Little Crow at the same time. And maybe Icy as well, I can't remember. I do like the idea of Nieke missing all of it. We're not leaving for a bit, so I might actually be able to post. We'll see.
(June 19, 2017 - 10:13 am)
Hey Hazel, two things. First off, I'm leaving for camping for a week today, so I won't be able to post. Secondly, I was thinking of making Trixie's brother into more of a person. (Instead of just being a character who shows up in a couple of Trixie's posts.) If I did, he would want to stick with Trixie and become an Elite. Are you okay with this?
(June 19, 2017 - 7:52 am)
I did get a chance to post!
~Trixie~

Hazel~
Jaaws snatches me right off my feet and turns into a steep dive at the last second. I can feel her claws, cold and sharp, pressing into my stomach. Is she going to squeeze me to death?
I want to shout out to Trixie, tell her to take over the team if I die, but I can't; I'm being squeezed to hard. I watch helplessly as Jaaws takes me farther and farther away from the camp, and I realize how dangerous she is. How she came out of nowhere. We need to be more alert.
Suddenly I feel a relaxing sensation deep within me and I have to fight to stay conscious.
Calm yourself, says a voice inside my head. You've meddled too much.
I look up and pale. I can see black smoke puffing out of Jaaws's nose, that despite the wind blowing around us floats down and gently settles around my mouth and nose. She is trying to hypnotize me.
The struggle only lasts a moment. I can feel something in my brain, urging me to let go, to do things I would never do in real life. And I try to resist, but that only makes it take over faster. Life becomes a show, and my eyes the television screen.
Jaaws dips lower and digs her back claws into the frozen earth, scraping to a violent stop. She whirls around and lifts me into the air. I feel a shoot of fear as she pulls one arm back--she's going to throw me?!!--and lets me sail through the air back to the ruined camp. I land on my arm a few feet away (it crunches ominously) but am forced to stand up. Trixie is saying something to Nieke but to my ears, it's muted. Apparently Jaaws can hear it through me, though, because the next thing I know, I'm barreling towards Trixie and knocking her over, shouting, "DON'T LISTEN TO HER!"
(June 21, 2017 - 7:22 am)
@Trixie--Yeah, that's fine with me! I daresay our team needs a few more members anyway.
I know you'll be back by the time you read this, but have a great time at camp!
(June 21, 2017 - 7:03 am)
It took me 37 minutes to write this. Wow.
Jaaws~
I am glad I chose this one to hypnotize. As my black fog settles down and blurs her senses, I delve into her mind and discover she is the leader of this group. Hazel is her name. I fly onwards until the fog completes its duty, and I feel myself in two places.
I swoop down until I can dig my back claws into the earth and spin around towards the base. I have to get this human back as fast as possible. The longer she's with me, the more suspicious everyone will become.
I take the easiest route and toss her over. As she sails, the hynosis completes. I can now switch between two modes of sense--hers and mine, whatever suits me at the moment. For now I choose hers.
Stand up, I order her. I take to hearing from her own nearly useless ears.
"Um, yeah, about that," says the tall one to the squirrel.
Stop her, I say almost lazily. Trixie is the new hypnosis victim here.
Hazel knows exactly what I mean.
"DON'T LISTEN TO HER!" Hazel shouts, barreling over Trixie. I can tell her arm hurts and I'd better tone it down before she passes out.
The squirrel sits up confusedly.
"Nieke," breaths Hazel from on top of Trixie, who looks horrified. "We can't trust Trixie. Not yet. Jaaws just crashed down on our fort--I'm sure you can tell--and we have to make sure none of us has been hypnotized."
"Hypnotized?" Nieke still looks a little bewildered.
"Lie down, Nieke, you don't want to pass out again," calls Trixie from underneath Hazel.
Convince her, I order Hazel.
"Jaaws blew down some kind of black smoke when she attacked, and it landed on Trixie," Hazel continues. Nieke looks down at Trixie, who is covered in black soot from cleaning up the fire. I can tell this doesn't help her situation.
"But Hazel, you were the one who got carried away!" Trixie protests.
"Quiet, Jaaws," Hazel says. "I will not play your mind games."
"Nieke, listen! I'm not under hypnosis, Hazel is! Can't you tell?"
"Nieke, listen to me," Hazel says softly. "Jaaws will do everything she can to convince you to believe a lie. You mustn't believe the wrong person."
Nieke looks torn.
(June 21, 2017 - 8:02 am)
Nieke~
The dragon dives for our camp and lands with a blinding crash of snow and soot and flames, almost on top of me. The impact throws me back and I see stars and then nothing.
I come to with Trixie standing over me, smeared with ash and snow. My head throbs--I must have hit it... Wait. Our camp is a mess.
"Wha--What happened? What was that black thing? Wait, we figured that out, didn't we? It was, um... Jaaws! It was Jaaws--where is she?!" I try to sit up, but Trixie pushes me back down.
"Shh. Calm down. Jaaws is gone. You got knocked out for a while, and one minute..." I squint as she shines a flashlight in my eye.
"Yep, you've got a concussion. Don't worry though, I think it's pretty minor."
"Where's Hazel?" I ask. "Is she okay?"
"Yeah, about that, Jaaws took her. She--"
"Don't listen to her!"
Hazel? I don't dare move to look for fear of making my head worse, but then she comes barreling into my vision, running straight into Trixie and knocking her over. I sit up, forgetting my head. Something is wrong.
"Nieke," Hazel pants, apparently out of breath. "We can't trust Trixie, not yet. Jaaws just crashed down on our fort--" Fort? The camp isn't a fort. Wasn't. "--I'm sure you can tell. We have to make sure none of us were hypnotized."
"Hypnotized?" I didn't know Jaaws could hypnotize people.
"Lie down, Nieke. You don't want to pass out again," Trixie calls from where Hazel has her pinned. She has a point, so I do.
"Jaaws blew some kind of black smoke when she attacked, and it landed on Trixie," Hazel says. I look at Trixie. Is the ash really ash?
"But Hazel, you were the one who got carried away!" Trixie counters. It's true Hazel wasn't here a minute ago...
"Quiet, Jaaws!" Hazel snaps. "I will not play your mind games."
"Nieke, listen! I'm not under hypnosis, Hazel is! Can't you tell?" Truth be told, I can't.
"Nieke, listen to me. Jaaws will do whatever she can to convince you to believe a lie. You mustn't believe the wrong person." But I don't know who the wrong person is. If what Hazel says is true, she could still be the one who's hypnotized, and so could Trixie. I have no idea if anyone is hypnotized at all. I press my palms to my eyes.
"Okay, okay. Let me think about this. You say Jaaws can hypnotize people by breathing smoke on them and will do anything to trick people into believing her."
"Yes."
"Uh-huh."
"Right. Ugh, how am I supposed to..." I sigh, look at the two of them, and try to decide who to trust. Suddenly I think of something.
"Hazel, get off of Trixie."
"What? But she's hypnotized! She's Jaaws!"
"I am not! You are!" Trixie shouts.
"Stop! If she's Jaaws, she'll try to manipulate us. If she's Trixie, she won't fight."
Hazel looks conflicted. I don't voice what I'm thinking: And if you're Jaaws, you'll do it.
(June 21, 2017 - 11:33 am)
Ooh, that's some awesome writing, Viola. Scary and confusing, but awesome. Very manipulative.
(June 22, 2017 - 11:57 am)
Thank you! Most of it was just a slightly altered version of what Trixie and Hazel wrote, though.
(June 23, 2017 - 9:13 am)
That was a really good post, Viola?.
I really wish I could join, but I came too late. XD
(June 22, 2017 - 7:52 pm)
Thanks! You can still join, I think--ride in on Brego at some opportune moment, maybe. Hazel, Trixie, is that okay with you?
I don't think I've ever gotten praise for my writing on here before... It feels especially weird because no one else is, and they're all amazing writers.
(June 23, 2017 - 9:19 am)
I'm unsure whose point of view I should write this from. Probably Jaaws's.
Jaaws~
"...If she's Trixie, she won't fight."
The squirrel is smart. I can sense manipulation in her words. But by the time I think to stop Hazel, she is already off of Trixie, trying to convince Nieke she isn't Jaaws. I smack my face. I wish I could hypnotize people into intelligence.
"Trixie," Nieke says waveringly, giving Hazel a meaningful glance. Trixie is raising herself slowly--as if sore from being tackled to the ground--but suddenly she lashes her feet out and trips Hazel. Then she jumps up and it's Hazel's turn to be tackled.
Hazel squirms out from underneath her. "STOP!" she shouts, standing suddenly in a defensive position. She looks from Trixie to Nieke with a glint in her eyes. "OR I'LL COME BACK AND KILL YOU BOTH!"
It takes them a minute to realize what this means. They glance behind them, where I am still sitting, watching the whole display with disappointment. It had been my turn to jump in.
"I will come back," Hazel repeats slowly, repeating the sentence I give to her, "and deal with both of you, if you decide to neutralize me right now or any time in the future. I won't let you ruin my plans."
Out in the distance, I spread my wings menacingly as if confirming Hazel's message.
Trixie and Nieke look at each other. How will they react to this?
--------------------------------
I hope I didn't misinterpret Nieke's secret plan.
Poor Hazel. I wonder what it's like being hypnotized. I'll write a part from her PoV at some point.
(June 23, 2017 - 7:19 am)
Don't worry, Nieke's plan was just to figure out who was Jaaws. Now I'm worried, though, am I doing a bad job of writing Hazel and Trixie? I don't want to control them too much or make them act OOC.
(June 23, 2017 - 8:17 pm)
Alright, Viola?, I'll take your suggestion. :)
~~~
I whisper to Brego, "Faster!" in Elvish. He snorts as a response and charges forward until we reach the dark part of the forest where the eagles pointed out to me (LoTR reference, does anyone get it? XD). I tell Brego to slow down as we reach a dense thicket where the confrontation is arising.
I can see Neike and Trixie staring at Hazel. In their eyes there are looks of fear, confusion, and anger. I see a small glint of purple eyes from a distance behind them.
Now to find out exactly what is going on.
I pat Brego's neck two times and he leaps over the thicket, bursing into the clearing. Looks of shock come from everyone's faces.
"WHAT IS THIS?" Hazel shouts. Okay, so definently not Hazel.
"As you can tell," Neike begins. "Hazel is being possessed. By Jaaws."
As an elf, we can't be possessed very easily. We have ligt within us that floods out any evil things that tries to embed itself in us. Though I am part human, I still have that Elven feature, but have to be careful not to be turned to the dark.
"No one has tried to kill the source?" I ask.
Trixie shakes her head. "It's not as easy as that. Jaaws is very dangerous and powerful."
"Stop talking!" Hazel exclaims. She begins to back away.
I have a trace of fear trickling it's way through my blood. We're basically confronting Jaaws through Hazel. One wrong move and Hazel could end up dead. Or all of us could. I think of my best option, and take a deep breath, trying to push the fear out.
"Galad."
Light floods the forest, slowly seeping through the trees. (Btw, I'm not making this up to be OP. Obviously, I'm not trying to defeat Jaaws because I don't think it's possible yet, but this was in my charrie sheet, the whole light in darkness thing. I can at least try to help Hazel. Like I said, I am not trying to be OP or kill Jaaws, just trying to help out the situation.) I can see the light well, but the others will only see thin silver slivers. They don't want their eyes to be blinded.
It goes straight to Hazel's head and floods her, all the light going to her. A small roar can be heard, and right after the roar, she screams.
Trixie runs up to her. "Hazel? Hazel, are you in there?"
Neike looks around, her ears pointing in different directions. She's trying to pick up Jaaws.
But suddenly a darker smoke engulfs trees and comes from all directions. Jaaws. She's regaining Hazel and will try to kill us.
"Trixie, Neike!" I shout.
They both look towards me and looks around at the dark, black and purple smoke. It forms a huge ball above us all and suddenly explodes.
"Turma!" I exclaim. Shield.
Right before the darkness goes swirling around everywhere, light hangs over myself, Trixie, and Neike. When everything subsides, I lift the shield and we all look towards Hazel.
She cackles, still possessed. And I collapse. Never have I used so much power against one thing. One beast. One Jaaws.
