CB Story
RULES
I will kill you off if it pleases me. (eerie laughter)
I get to choose your powers.
Fill out ENTIRE charrie sheet.
I will choose MCs. I cap the story at fifteen people.
PLOT:
The world is Earth. Everything is the same but for one thing that has dominated the culture like ivy covering an ancient wall: True Names. When you are born, your parents give you your official name, like Paul or Lisa. But as soon as you turn 13, your True Name appears on your wrist.
Often, a true name describes someone's best attribute or worst flaw: Kindness or Greed are common names. The names never describe physical attributes like agile or swift.
Unfortunately, there is one more type of name: the Forbidden Names.
These names are seemingly random, like Flame or Dachsund, and they give extraordinary abilities. Well, dachsund-summoning isn't that amazing, but-oops, getting off track.
People who have Forbidden Names are hunted down. It's not like the owners of Forbidden Names have a choice, but the True Guard doesn't care.

PART 7~
Somebody and the rest stopped in front of a small tree.
"What is this?" Abi asked, walking forward.
"Don't-" Leopard was too late. Abi walked straight into the Dome, falling back as she collided with the invisible fence.
"Repellant Field," Keira muttered, feeling the pressurized air forming the fence, "I studied these in theory, but never knew..."
"That they could be made?" Somebody asked, smirking. She rapped her knuckles in an intricate pattern across the trunk. The tree made a hissing noise before half of its trunk swung in, creating a hole.
Wordlessly, the five girls climbed through.
The Repellant Field was not only able to repel the unwelcome; it shielded all animal and human life from sight.
Three girls sat huddled around a fire; the outlines of wings stretched like the arches of ancient cathedrals behind their backs. Another sat across from them, her long brown hair gleaming in the firelight.
The four hiders turned and smiled. "Hello, Somebody," one of the winged girls said, "who are these?"
"Agent Leopard, Dragon, Cacophony, and Psion," Somebody said, taking a seat by the fire. Leopard, Shade, Abigail, and Keira waved.
"These are the Owls," Somebody said, "three sisters who share the same True Name. Winged."
"Hello," the tallest and oldest-looking said, smiling broadly. She had angelic, pale blue eyes and curly blonde hair. Her wings were white and graceful.
"Her Official Name is Saint," Somebody said, "apparently her parents didn't understand how ironic that name would come to be."
Saint gave a devilish wink. The gathered girls snickered.
The second sister, on the log, the youngest, smiled and waved. Her pale brown hair skirted her chin like a dancer's skirt, and a pile of books sat next to her on the log. She twitched her hazel wings that matched her intelligent eyes and the books flapped open.
"That's Brinwy," Somebody said, "also called Booksy, because she's a nerd."
"Girl after my own heart," Keira said.
The last girl on the log had hair the same tone as her younger sister's, but it was lon and lank on her head. She seemed to shrink from her sisters, yet at the same time blossom towards the newcomers.
"I'm Olive," she said, "but everyone calls me Owlgirl, cause... I... er, I like owls! And my True Name is Owl! So yes, hi! Glad you're here!"
She immediately went quiet. Abigail nudged Shade's arm off; she sensed something was wrong with Owlgirl.
Finally the girl with long brown hair spoke up. "I'm Balea," she said, "but my True Name is Strands."
"Why?" Shade asked quietly. Her voice was husky from overuse and shouting.
Balea smiled, picking up the ribbons of her shoes-ballet slippers, likely stolen and the only pair she owned-remotely. Her hair moved like so many chocolate snakes, swirling through the night air. The gathered girls applauded.
Abi made her way towards Owlgirl as the rest talked. "Is anything wrong?" she asked.
Owlgirl sighed, watching her sisters. "No," she said, voice betraying her.

Yeah, I know. The only way I could think of for me to not be dead was if the "poison" in that syringe was actually a powerful sedative and the True Guards returned later to collect me, and I'm now imprisoned for interrogation with little hope of escape since Shade and Keira think I'm dead...but that's a really long shot. 'S alright. Do you mind if I do another snippet like the one with Liberty, entirely composed of "NPCs" with the CBers mentioned only in passing, just to flesh out the world a bit more?
