WINGS OF FIRE

WINGS OF FIRE

WINGS OF FIRE RP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We need one of these again! Wings of Fire is such an awesome series! Btw, I'm Shadowmoon, and I go to school with Moonshadow. She told me about the CB, and I sort of adopted her name! Anywho, down to business. One thing I think I should probably mention is that we should try not to have spoilers in this, for people ( including me ) who haven't read the whole series yet. I think for this rp I'm not going to use a lot from the book. Let's pretend that this is YEARS ahead of the books. Like, centuries. Let's also pretend that the land is at peace. For now.
It is a time of prosperity for all dragon kind. All of the seven tribes are at peace. Almost every dragon is content and happy. Almost. For there is one, a Nightwing, who is bitter with hatred. He loathes all who are happy, all who love peace, with a hatred beyond understanding. His bitterness has pierced his heart and made him evil. He wishes for a surperior ribs of Nightwings, all with the abilities of the other tribes. He wants them to be water breathing, poison-tailed, big-winged, poison spitting, camouflaged, and deadly. So he works by night. He captures young dragon eggs and attempts to imprint their powers on to young Nightwings. He experiments with his monsters, and he works. And he waits. And he prepares. There is only a handful of dragons who fear Nightheart. They try to talk to the leaders, but they have gone soft from an easy life. So this small group of dragons take matters into their own claws. They form a group, the Lightbringers. They, too, steal dragon eggs, but this time for a good cause. They are preparing an army, to fight when Nightheart should return.
How about we try to have only 2-3 types of dragons. This is just a preference. Anyone may join at any time, and an organized person could make a character sheet. I will post my charrie sheet later.

Sandwing territory, or Mudwing. He grew up learning about how the dragon tribes aren't very different from each other and how to blend the fighting techniques of Sandwing and Mudwing.

Dragon Type: Sandwing.

Appearance: Imagine a Sandwing, except no poisoned tail end, more heavily built, and a more sort of shimmery gold-brown. Startlingly green eyes. Big claws.

Okay. Oh yeah. Dusty and Frostfire ran off from the IceWing palace and went to the Lightbringer's secret island (they had a map).

~Dusty~

Dusty lay on an lichen covered rock, soaking up the sun's feeble rays. "Wake up," whispered a soft voice into his ear. He opened an eye. Staring right back was Frostfire, her blue eye gazing into his. "Let's play!" she ordered in her quiet voice. Dusty sat up, looking down at his friend. Her silvery-orange scales glittered and sparkled, even if the sun was mostly covered up with pale gray clouds.

"What do you want to play?" Dusty asked. Frostfire ran a short distance away from him, then stopped and turned around. "Chase me!" she responded, then ran further away. Dusty scrabbled to his feet and took after Frostfire. They swerved around boulders, and scampered around scrawny shrubs until Frostfire tripped on a pebble and Dusty tackled her. "Caught you!" he crowed triumphantly. Frostfire shoved him off, making him tumble to the ground. Dusty sat up, brushing the dust off of himself.

"You two should be doing battle training," thundered a voice behind them. It was Thoughtstealer, leader of the Lightbringers. Dusty swiveled his head around. The burly NightWing was wearing a slightly disappointed face. Dusty rolled onto his back, while Frostfire sat up. "Sorry." they mumbled in unison. Thoughtstealer sat down in front of them. "Get back to the training grounds." he ordered. I hate battle training. Dusty thought, following Frostfire and Thoughtstealer back to the training grounds. Especially when Alligator trains with us. The way Frostfire sighed made Dusty wonder if she were dreading training with the whiny MudWing.

When they got back to the training grounds, Thoughtstealer herded the two friends into the arena. Inside were several dragons that were battling with spears and talons. "Get with Alligator and Ember." Thoughtstealer ordered, closing the gate to the arena. Dusty stared glumly at the sparring pair. Or more like the one-screeching-at-the-other-to-fight-while-the-other-hides-beneath-his-shield pair. Dusty sighed. I'm stuck with Alligator again. he thought. Trudging towards Alligator and Ember, Dusty grabbed a spear and a shield.

~Frostfire~

"Is that all you got?" Ember taunted, dodging out of the way. Frostfire thrust her spear forwards again. The blade clanked awkwardly against Ember's shield, sending out sparks. "Ha!" Ember cackled. Frostfire grit her teeth in frustration. Fighting with Ember was so hard. Looking over towards Dusty, Frostfire threw a glance at Alligator. "Wanna trade partners?" she asked. Dusty nodded. "I'd do anything to get away from him."

A sudden pain ripped throughout Frostfire's leg. When she looked down, fresh blood was trickling from a slash in her leg. Ember's spear was stained red. Tears pricked Frostfire's eyes. "Ow..." she moaned, clutching her leg. Rattlesnake, the overseer, came rushing over. He examined the wound, then looked up and asked, "What happened?" "Ember slashed me with her spear," Frostfire whimpered. The SandWing glared at the orange SkyWing, who was studying her talons boredly. "Why did you do that?" he demanded angrily. "Well," Ember began, looking up from her claws. "You always say 'Seize the chance when you enemy is distracted.' I was only doing what you said." Rattlesnake smacked his forehead with his talons. "That is not an excuse to injure your friends," he growled. Ember sighed, shaking her head slightly. "She's not my friend," she protested. Rattlesnake ignored Ember and picked up Frostfire. "Let's get you to the healers," he murmured.

When they arrived at the healer's cave, Pomegranate and Starfish, the two healers, took a look at Frostfire's leg. "Hm...This will leave a nasty scar." muttered Pomegranate. Starfish nodded. "Let's get some bandages," she chirped in her always cheerful voice. The only thought running around through Frostfire's head was, OH MY GOSH MY LEG HURTS SO BAD!

This is it. Today is the day that somebody recognizes my talents! "What talents would you be referring to, weirdo? The ability to be a complete LOSER at everything, or the power to sit around reading all day in the library?" If Icewings could blush, I'd look like a ripe tomatoe. I realize that I've been talking out loud again. I should really work on that. "Yeah, you should, weirdo. It drives everybody nuts." My tormentor, Sardine, is a huge Seawing who is currently wearing a huge smirk. I'm his favorite person. To torment. "What do you want, Sardine?" I mutter. I think he hates me becuase of my Mudwing heritage. I don't have gills like a Seawing, but I have a rather large lung capacity to make up for it. Sardine smirks. "I just wanted to wish you luck on the tests, loser. I hope you end up cleaning the toilets or something." I grimace. "That's not even a position, fishbreath, but if it was, that position was TOTALLY meant for you" Sardine begins a stream of insults, but I just tune out and think about the tests. Today is testing day, the day that all young dragons make a very importent choice: will they stay on the island and help protect Pyririah against the forces of Nightwing? Or will they agree to take a brainwipe of the time that they've spent on the island and return home to leave (almost) normal lives with the conviction that they've been on a two-month long vacation? I've chosen to stay. My parents brought my egg here, and I'm remaining loyal to the Lightbringers. They're like my family. Also, it would be TOTALLY ackward to return home. "Oh, hi mom, hi dad, good to see you. Hey, remember that time when youu gave me to a bunch of strangers and missed out on my life? No matter, who wants cookies?" So yeah, there is NO WAY that I'm going back. In fact, now that I think about it........ OW! Sardine has shoved me, apperently annoyed that I wasn't listening to his lecture on how lame I am. Unfourtunitly, at that moment drill seargent Glop, a burley Mudwing walks by. "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, YOU YOUNG WHIPPERSNAPPER?????" "Well, I was just, umm" Sardine stammers. "TORMENTING YOUNG GLACIA HERE? YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED! GO PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE! OH, WAIT, I HAVE A BETTER IDEA, HOW ABOUT BOTH OF YOU GET ON TO THE TESTS!!!!!!!!!" We scurry off, under Glop's stern gaze. He's actually quite nice, once you get past all the blustering (and the inevitable spittle that comes with his yelling. We hurry on towards the testing rooms. If looks could kill, Sardine would have me dead in millaseconds. "Good luck on the tests. NOT." Sardine stalks off. The tests. Oh, dang. The tests are held by the Lightbringers to decide if young dragons will be with the Air Force, the Sea Force, the Land Force, or the tactitions. I shudder. I don't know what I'll end up as, but whatever it is, I just want these tests over with as soon as possible.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So guys, if you have any ideas on what the tests should be, please give ideas!
I think the tests should be like obstacle courses. You run through them with a partner. And then the partners spar. Whoever does the best is selected for the Land Force, ect.
~Frostfire~
"Good luck on the tests!" Starfish called as Frostfire left the healer's cave. Frostfire waved back, then continued on her way.
At the caves where the tests were taken, Frostfire was greeted by Sienna. "Your first test will be to decide if you belong on the Land Force," she told the small crowd of dragonets that were gathered around her. I hope I'm selected for the Land Force, Frostfire thought. She followed the hefty MudWing through a long tunnel.
At the end the tunnel split, one leading deeper underground, the other leading upwards. Gecko was standing near the tunnel that went down. "All dragonets wishing to return to the mainland follow Gecko," Sienna announced. Alligator and a small SandWing hesitantly walked over to the grumpy RainWing, who was a dull brown. "Summer is scared," taunted a SandWing behind Frostfire. Summer puffed herself out. "I am not!" she retorted hotly. "Then how come you're getting your brain wiped?" the SandWing demanded. "How come?" echoed a NightWing. Summer hesitated, then stormed over to Sienna. "I'm not," she growled to the SandWing. The SandWing snorted, then whispered something into the NightWing's ear. Jerks, Frostfire thought, rolling her eyes.
It's time for the test, and it feels like an army of butterflies has decided to take up residance in my stomach. I take a few deep breaths to calm myself down, and head towards the training area. I walk in and am greeted by a burst of light and sound. The sun is beating down on us, and everybody is talking at once, creating a huge din. "QUIET!!!!!!" Deafining silence falls over the croud, as Thoughtstealer steps up to a large podium. "Welcome, future Lightbringers to the tests!" Everyone draws in breath to cheer, Thoughtstealer glares at us, and almost everyone stops. I accidentally squeake "yay!" and get glares from everybody. I try to hide behind someone, and for the second time that day thank my lucky stars that Icewings can't blush. "Ahem, as I was saying, today is day one of the tests! This is the day that you will be tested on your land navigation skills, to determine if you will be on the Landforce. I'm sure all of you know the rules already, but protocol demands that I tell them to you anyway." Stupid protocol. The sun is beginning to get hot, and mousqitos (the scale-piercing type) are beginning to appear. "Here's how everything is going to work. The tests will last for three days. Each day you will be tested for performence in Land Force, Air Force, and Sea Force skills in an areana. We will also be watching for future tactitions. You will be partnered randomly. Absoloutly NO KILLING is to take place. You will be aloud to give small wounds, but if you give mortal wounds you will be pulled out of the compition until next year." Thoughtstealer gives us all stern looks. He walks over to a glass bowl filled with name slips. "Sienna will be drawing two names at a time from this bowl. If your name is called, come over to Drill Seargent Glop with your partner. Sienna, you may proceed."  She does, and she begins to call out pairs of names. I'm not even sure why we have to go though this whole rigamaroll. I asked Glop once, and he started talking (shouting) about how it was tradition or something. Afterwords I had to go wash my face. That guy can sure spit. I wake myself up when I hear Sardine's name. I feel sorry for whoever has to be with that jerk. "Glacia Starfire!" What. The. Papaya fruit. I'm paired with Sardine. My life is over. And I might not even be kidding. He might drop a rattlesnake on me while I'm sleeping and pretend it was an accident or something. This had better be worth it. I had better make the Sea Force, because nothing other than my life's dream could persuade me to spend THREE WHOLE DAYS with THAT monster. I resign myself to my fate, and trudge over to drill seargent Glop.
~Dusty~
"Dusty," Sienna called, pulling two slips of papers from the jar. "And, Fortuneteller." Fortuneteller muttered something to Gila, then walked alongside Dusty to Drill Sergent Glop. Several other dragonets were there, and most looked unhappy with their partners. Glacia Starfire, an IceWing, was standing next to a scowling SeaWing. She pushed her way through the crowd of dragonets to reach Glop. Glacia whispered something into his ear, and his reply was deafening. "'CAUSE THAT'S HOW WE PICK PARTNERS!" Glop shouted, projecting spittle everywhere. As Dusty wiped his face clean of spit, Fortuneteller whispered into his ear. "Listen," he hissed. "I don't want be your partner, and I'm sure you don't want to be mine. But whatever you do," Fortuneteller paused, looking around. "Don't ruin my chance of getting into the Land Force. You hear me?" Dusty nodded hastily, but he wasn't afraid. "Don't worry," he reassured.
Once all the partners were selected, the dragonets headed off to the arena. Dusty fidgeted with his necklace, running his claws over the smooth, iridescent shell of the scarab. Fortuneteller simply walked without a word. Suddenly, Frostfire bounded up to Dusty. "I'm partners with Azalea." she whispered. "Who's your partner?" Dusty threw a glance over towards Fortuneteller. Frostfire immediately understood. "Frostfire!" Azalea called, sticking her neck over the long line of dragonets. She hurried over to Dusty and Frostfire. "There you are!" she exclaimed. "You just left without a warning!" As Azalea babbled on, Dusty turned his thoughts to The Tests. I hope I'm selected for the Land Force. Then I can be with Frostfire!
Seal~
More lessons? My heart sinks as my instructor, Myrtle, calls me with Aquatic. "Princess Seal!" She flashes at me. I can either ignore her or say I'm busy. "I'm sorry, Myrtle, but I'm busy - Mother wants me." I flash back at her. Hopefully she'll leave me alone. I swim in the direction of the throne room, and as soon as I'm out of sight, I switch into an intersection. But in about an hour Myrtle will come looking for me. I'll have to resort to my best hiding spot, since she's discovered all of the others.
I swim far away from the castle, to a cave located conveniantly out of the way. (This is the Deep Palace)
Um, it's lunchtime gtg.
Sardine is still grumbling as we head towards the arena. I just ignore him. If he wants to have a bad attitude, than I wish him luck with that. Ignoring him, I scan the crowd for either Frostfire or Dusty. I spot Frostfire over with Azalea, and Dusty over with Fourtuneteller. Both Dusty and Fourtuneteller are looking peeved, and Dusty is fiddling with his scarab necklace. I don't blame Dusty for being annoyed, because Fourtuneteller is a pain is the tail. I pad over to Frostfire. I like Dusty and Frostfire. They've been really kind to me, and they're about the closest to friends that I have on this island. "Hi Frostfire!" I say, trying to be cheery. "How are things? I see you got a nice partner. I, on the other hand, got Sardine, the most ABNOXIOUS partner EVER." Frostfire giggles, and the light catches on her orange and white scales. (COOLEST. CHARRIE. EVER.) "Sardine? That REALLY stinks for you. But, you know, once you get to know him, he's not that bad." My mouth falls open. "Not that bad? He's nice to you?" "Yeah. You just have to dig a little, that's all." I shake my head in disbelief. "You're really luck, Frost. See ya'." And I trudge back to Sardine, feeling VERY confused.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"OKAY EVERYONE, LISTEN UP!" Glop shouts. "YOU ARE ABOUT TO ENTER THE ARENA. THE NEXT THREE DAYS WILL BE VERY IMPORTANT FOR YOU ALL. YOU WILL BE TESTED TO SEE WHICH AREA OF THE LIGHTBRINGERS YOU ARE BEST SUITED FOR. I DON'T WANT ANY WHINING, GRIPING, ARGUING, SPITTING, SCRATCHING, SWEARING, OR MISBEHAVIOR OF ANY KIND. OF COURSE, ONCE YOU ENTER THE ARENA, FEEL FREE TO SCRATCH, SPIT, WHINE, AND SWEAR ALL YOU LIKE. YOU ALL KNOW THE RULES. IF YOU DON'T, TOO BAD. YOU SHOULD'VE PAID ATTENTION EARLIER. NOW WHO'S READY TO BECOME A LIGHTBRINGER!!!" A deafening roar rises up from the crowd of young dragonets. "LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN," Glop shouts. "THREE!" The arena doors begin to open. "TWO!!!!!" I feel the anticipation building. "ONE!!!!!!!!!!" The doors fly open, and a huge crowd of dragonets surges into an arena so massive that I can't even see the opposite side of it. The area is covered with hard, red, dry earth, and scattered about are massive boulders and shrimpy trees. A glass dome that allows the audience to see us but not the other way around sits on top of the arena. I barely have time to assess the fact that there is barely any cover before the crowd of dragonets surges forwards, carrying me with it. Sardine manages to grip my arm as the massive crowd pushes us forwards. I spot what seems like a forest far in the distance. Apparently Sardine has spotted it too, because he shouts, "Let's head for the forest before someone attacks us!" He's right. Attacking your opponants means bonus points. We're supposed to head to the double doors that lead to the Air Force challange as quickly as possible, while avoiding traps and passing challenges along the way. I begin to run.

~Frostfire~

"We should head to the forest." Azalea grabbed Frostfire's arm without waiting for a reply. "Okay..." Frostfire mumbled. "But what about bonus points?" Azalea stopped. "Good idea. We should ambush the dragonets heading to the forest by hiding in trees and jumping on them." Before Frostfire could say anything, Azalea started off again.

Soon, they reached the trees. "Climb!" Azalea ordered. Frostfire relucuctantly obeyed. Once she was safely hidden amongst the branches, Frostfire saw their first victims. It was Sardine and Glacia. Why did they have to be ambushed? They were her friends (well maybe not Sardine. He wasn't nice to other dragons, even if he were nice to her.). She released her grip from the branch she was holding and fell on top of Glacia. Sorry, Frostfire thought as Glacia screeched in surprise. It took her a moment to regain her senses, but when she did, she sunk her claws into Frostfire's scales. She yelped. Frostfire bit into Glacia's neck. Glacia yanked her talons out of Frostfire's hide and stumbled backwards, bumping into the battling Sardine and Azalea. The pair broke apart, Glacia in the middle. Frostfire took the chance and pounced on a stunned Glacia. "Ha!" Azalea crowed and gouged her talons into Sardine. He screamed.

Frostfire took no heed of the startled screeches and thrust Glacia into a tree. She landed with a thump. "Ooo..." Glacia moaned. Frostfire took the chance and pummeled Glacia with the blunt sides of her claws.

Ooh, cool charrie Storm. Sort of like albinism, except the opposite.

~Dusty~

"DINNERTIME!" Drill Sergent Glop bellowed. Dusty looked up from the RainWing he was attacking. His partner, Fortuneteller, gave his opponent one last punch, the tried to squirm out from under the NightWing. She rolled off of him, landing in a gorse bush. "Ouch!" she yelped. Fortuneteller let out a snort of laughter. Dusty got off the RainWing and went over to stomp on Fortuneteller's toes, but when the RainWing's talons settled themselves on his shoulder, he stopped in his tracks. "Being mean in response won't help the problem." he murmured. Ugh, Dusty thought. That RainWing was so annoying. He pulled away his arm. "Let's just go to dinner," Dusty muttered.

At the dinner hall, Dusty sat next to Frostfire and Glacia. "So then, I bit that RainWing's tail so hard he pleaded me to stop," Dusty recalled from his battle in the arena. "What did you do?" Glacia asked, intrigued. Before he could reply, Fortuneteller and his friend Copperhead came marching over. "Fortuneteller tells me that you didn't help him when Fearsome sat on him," Copperhead snarled. "So?" Dusty challenged. Copperhead didn't get a chance to reply because Drill Sergent Falcon came stomping over. For once in his life, Dusty was happy to see the grumpy SkyWing. "What are you two up to?" Drill Sergent Falcon demanded. "I...uh..." Fortuneteller stammered. Copperhead was too afraid to say anything. "Get back to your seats," Drill Sergent Falcon ordered, turning away. Copperhead and Fortuneteller scurried away. We are victorious. Dusty thought triumphantly, then continued on with his story.

"Attention, students." Thoughtstealer called for the attention of the dragonets. "The results on the tests were mostly positive. Remember to get a good night's sleep for tomorrrow's tests." He stepped of the podium. The dragonets continued their conversations.

As the night carried on, bedtime soon came around. Drill Sergent Glop told (yelled to) the dragonets to go to Drill Sergent Sienna to locate their sleeping quarters. Dusty was stuck with Glacia, Fortuneteller (obviously), and Sardine, which wouldn't of been a problem if Sardine and Fortuneteller weren't bullies. The night was filled with bickering between Sardine and Fortuneteller about this and that. Eventually, Drill Sergent Iris came and queited them. Dusty was finally able to fall asleep.
