Superhero RP.

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Superhero RP.

Superhero RP.

So. Superheroes. Pretty awesome people, especially when they can do stuff like fly and control things with their minds. And beat the bad guys. The plot could be a bunch of kids who go to this everyday school and learn about each others powers. Then they beat up some bad guy. Anyone interested?

Name: Pepper Collins

Super power: Invisibility and sometimes forcefields

Age: 14

Appearence: Shoulder length black hair, extremely green eyes, about 5'7, tan.

Personality: Nice, cares about others, and is generally friendly, but if need be, will rip you to shreads.

Other: Lives with her father, stepmother and two stepsisters. Her mother died when she was 10, and she misses her alot. Her stepmother is like the one from Cinderella, especially when she brags about her daughters and tells Pepper every five minutes what a worthless thing she is. she is secretly scared of her powers, and claims Pepper is a freak. Her dad travels, so she never see's him.

If anyone has suggestions on the plot, feel free to change it.

Legion

Okay, okay, stop pacing. Stop hyperventilating, Legion, everything's fine, there's no problem, you're gonna be all right...

AHHHH!HHH!H!H!H!H! Leota knows that my name is Cassan Bray and she knows who Cassan Bray is and who Cassan Bray's parents were and what happened to Cassan Bray's parents and she might tell someone all about Cassan Bray and all about his parents! Disaster! Should have destroyed the file beforehand!

Wait... since when I have been talking about myself in third person?

I'm so busy pacing up and down the hallway that I don't even notice when I bump into Dale. Well, it's more of a slam because I'm wearing a metal suit and he's wearing normal clothes. He's not wearing his suit. Smart kid. Wear a suit of metal armour, not a stretchy cloth thingy. The excuses they call suits are awful. Never worn one, never ever will.

"Oh, uh, hi Legion," said Dale.

"Hi um.... Lettuce?" I'm serious. Lettuce. He controls all the plants in the world, and he names himself Lettuce. We're going to be needing some help dealing with him. We, as in multiple Legions, because I can't deal with him myself.

"Yeah, do you know where Leota is? I need to tell her something about the Protectorate." He immediately looks like he shouldn't have said that.

Actually, I do. She's with Meridan, which worries me because what if Leota is like, "Hey, Meridan! Did you know that Legion is Cassan Bray?" Which I'm pretty sure Meridan already knows, but what if Pepper is around? What about all the other people? Argh. Keep calm and just have a secret identity.

Well, Dale needs to tell someone something about the Protectorate so... "What is it?"

Dale made a face.

Leota~

I told Legion I was with Meridan, but I had really gone to the graveyard.  Being half ghost made where I was found make a lot more sense.  I went to the gravestone where I had been left as a baby and turned into ghost mode.  "Dad?!"  I asked, "Are you here?"

A middle-aged man walked through the gravestone.  He had jet black hair, just like me.  It whooshed around his head as he walked toward me.  "Leota!" he shouted happily, "You finally came back!"

"Sorry, Dad, I never realized my father was a ghost before," I said, "I didn't even find out until yesterday, when I read it in the Z Files."

"You're part of that pesky Protectorate now?" he asked.

I nodded.  "I have been for a while now."

"You better leave before they use you."

"Use me?"

"Every superhero who belongs to the Protectorate either ends up coming out as a shell of a human with a wiped mind and no powers or... well... like me."

"Did you have powers in life?"

"Yes.  I had the same powers as you.  My mother was a ghost.  Daddy was a human."

"Wow.  I'm not alone."

"Yeah, I know how you feel.  A human's coming.  I gotta go."

I waved at Dad, then looked at the tombstone he had come out of.  "Michael Mason, 1968-1996"  My real last name was Mason.  Good to know.  Leota Mason.  I could get used to that.

Someone was walking down the path.  I hid behind the tombstone, then turned invisible and pushed my head through. It was Rin.  What was she doing here?  She walked to the tombstone next to Dad's.  It read "Gertrude Smiles, Loving Mother, Wife, and Grandmother, 1920-2009".  She put a bouquet of daisies down on the tombstone.  "Gramma, I'm so confused," she whispered.  She sat there for a while, quietly talking to her grandmother's tombstone.

"I am too," I whispered.  She jumped.  "Gramma?!"

I walked through the tombstone.  "Do I really look that old?" I asked her.

"Oh, it's you," she said.

"No, I'm pretty sure I'm me.  Anyway, my dad told me the Protectorate was messed up.  I don't know whether to go back or not."

"Same."

I sighed.  I had no idea what decision to make.

Rin~

I opened my mouth up to my mother, "No, I will not lead song time" was my firm answer. I ran off to "my" group of toddlers, they weren't going to have singing today, they were going to do... bead necklaces. We went off to the art room and started the craft. My dad walked in "Are you sure about your choice?" he said, "Yes, I'm sure" I replied. My choice was to remain neutral for a while and see what happens. Something big is going on. I guess I will get over my dislike of people younger then me. I will work on hoing my power when I have time. My dad said he will teach me.

I'm in our "farm" area right now, our donkey, Bray, sounded his namesake. I needed to practice now, I needed to be able to make my hair harden, so I could use it as a shield and weapon. I did as my dad had said and stiffened my hair, as I would my arm. Then I made the shape of my sword on Skyrim. It felt wrong, holding a sword and shield that is. I poised my hair. I felt the ends, they were stiff. I started stabbing the wood, no dent whatsoever appeared. I began again. When dawn's light hit I could make a deep dent in the wood. When I walked back to our house I heard my father speaking to my mother. I stood behind the wall, listening. "It's odd, Luminesence hasn't made good on his promise to break/expose the P.. I wonder why? I think maybe he has a spy in there. Rin said that he had told them that they would be expose after 72 hours. It's been longer than that." I walked in. "Dad, I perfected the tecnique you showed me, come look." We went off to the wood statue I had to learn how to break. I attacked it with my strands, breaking it into chunks. I then tryed to scrape shavings off the remander. I hadn't perfected it to that yet. But I would.

Oh, fewmets, a story branch! Melody, Daisy, I guess you should either a. choose which one you prefer or b. make Rin come back and talk to Leota after her post. Or possibly c. replace Rin with someone else, like Danni, but that wouldn't work as well.

Rin~

I had perfected the tecnique. I still had some free time left. I decided I would go to Gramma's grave. Grandpa had moved to this town to start a flower farm, and he had met Gramma who wanted to start a dayschool, so he gave up his dream for hers. He still had grown flowers on the side though, so I took some of those to her grave.

Even though I decided for now to stay neutral, I'm still confused. I laid down the flowers on her grave. She had always known what to do, "Gramma, I'm so confused," I said. A voice answered back, "I am too." "Gramma?" "Do I really look that old?" said the voice. "Oh, it's you". We were both confused, both our parents had said that the P. was messed up. Should we go back was the question now.

"I think, maybe we should go get the others," I said. "Too risky, I don't trust Legion." was the answer. "I don't trust the P. with our information. I think, we should go steal that back, we might need the others' help though," I said. "You have a point there," said Leota. "We can take the files and hide them somewhere until-" no I butted in "But what will we do when we have the files?" "I was getting to that," she said in an annoyed voice. "We will take the files and give the information back to the families or people that are documented." We decided we would go back to the P., pretending to have returned, and then, we would steal the files, and give them back or burn them.

This should be reasonably short. Should, not will.

Legion

"It's a test," Dale blurted out. "Everything's a test, all of it, it's all to find information."

"About what?" I asked.

"Our powers," he said. "The Protectorate is using us as lab rats."

Tell me something I don't know.

My expression must have showed on my face, because Dale started explaining. "I used a vine to steal my file," he started.

I cut him off. "You stole your file? From where?"

Dale groaned. "No," I said, "this is something that I need to know. Where was your file?"

"It was in this room that with five sides..."

Shoot. This is very, very bad. That room is right next to the Meridan's boss's office. That room is part of his office.

"Are you sure?" I asked him again.

"I'm sure, now can I say what I wanted to say in the first place."

"Fine. Go ahead."

"They're studying us, testing us without our knowledge. They're trying to find how we can do what we can. They're searching our DNA, doing brain scans, all without us knowing. Not just the Superhumans, the Descendants too. So what if Letoa is half ghost? She's still all solid particles. They're trying to find out what part of her allows her to phase her particles through walls."

"They do it without us knowing?"

"No," Dale said, looking confused, "we do know, they've already taken a blood sample from me. Why don't I remember that?"

Meridan.

That's it. I'm out of the Protectorate. I'm handing in my resignation. I never, ever should have trusted a mindreader. I shouldn't have trusted the Protectorate.

"Mom, you guys gonna be home before midnight?"

"Sweetie, we're not."

"Don't call me that."

My mother sighed, exasperated. "I don't know when we're going to be coming home, Cassan."

"Fine."

"Cass, if something ever happens to us, remember, the only thing that you can trust are your own eyes and ears and yourselves. Trust no one. Sometimes, power corrupts."

The sound of people talking came through the phone. "Cass, I've got to go. We love you, all of you."

"Love you too, Mom. Bye."

"Take care. Bye."

The last thing my mother ever told me to do was not to trust anybody in power. I did, and now I don't know what's going on anymore. Is Meridan a traitor or not? What does Luminescence want? Who's Meridan's boss? I don't even know if the boss is a guy or girl.

But I'm not leaving a bunch of new recruits to the care of a bunch of people working toward their own, not so good, ends.

"Dale," I said, "get your stuff." He nodded. "Get Shift and Aegirnix. Tell them we're leaving and to pack whatever they can in five minutes. If they need anything else, I can buy it later. But we have to leave now. Before Meridan makes us forget everything." She's in my head too. I thought she wasn't able to do that because of the psychic link, but she was making me think that.

Dale ran off. Good kid. Followed orders. Unfortuneatly, that meant that I had to go get the girls.

I got to their quarters and started knocking on doors. Chameleon and Shadowgirl answered, and even though I know they don't really like me, they did what I said. Miss Strands and Spector were nowwhere to be found. Shoot. Leota- Spector, I knew she could handle herself. We'd been in fights together before. Rin- Miss Strands, I didn't know. Main priority right now: get out. I could send a replica back for them later.

My official residence, on Protectorate files, is a house in Richalian. My real home, the one where I spend all my time, is an hour's ride west of Richalian, underground. That's where I have all my weapons. Sometimes, you just can't beat a gun. Or a robotic dog.

"What the heck is going on?" Shift asked as we got into my car. Well, I ordered them to get in my car. I was the only one of any of them who could drive. Chameleon, being 15, probably had her permit, but she didn't have her liscense yet.

"Meridan and the Z files are going on," I said. "And the boss and the society. In other words, I have no bloody clue, but whatever it is, it's bad."

Shift grumbled, but he did get in. Shadowgirl made no comment about her aunt being part of the problem.

Only halfway down the street, I slammed on the breaks as something passed through my car. Not something... someone. Leota.

"What are you doing, Ca-Legion?"

"Getting away from the Protectorate," she almost said Cassan. Shoot. "Are you coming?" I asked. "Do you know where Miss Strands is?"

"I don't trust the Protectorate anymore," Spector said.

"Why do you think we're leaving? Come on, Leota, come with us."

"I'm staying neutral. So is Rin."

Speaking of which, Rin ran toward us, her hair holding a filing cabinet. Wow. Her hair was holding a filing cabinet. Not every day you see that.

"I got them!" Then she saw me. "Oh."

"You two, we have to leave. Now. Are you coming or not."

Leota phased through the door. "Of course."

"Rin?" I asked softly. She hesitated. I pressed the button to open the trunk, and she dropped the filing cabinet it, then got in. She, Leota, and Danni had to squeeze on the two middle seats.

*

I didn't stop, not even when Dale saw a McDonald's. I turned off the highway, then off onto smaller and smaller side streets until there were no more houses. I turned onto a dirt road, then into the forest. After five more minutes, I stopped the van.

"Five more minutes," I said.

"We're in a dark forest at night," Shift said. "Following a guy who none of us trust. This would be a great time for aforementioned guy to surround us in an ambush of replicas and kill us all."

"Actually," I said, finding a good response, "if I wanted to kill you, I would be a replica, and I would have rigged the van to blow up."

Shift didn't have an answer to that. Legion: 1. Shift: 0.

They followed me silently until I stopped at a small hill and said, "Identification: Legion. The triumphant army returned home. MRK-403." A small metal plate extended out of the ground. I stood on it, then knelt down and placed my palm on it so it could scan. Everything checked out, of course.

The small hill spiraled upward, and I descended. I turned back and looked at them. "Welcome to my house," I said, and continued walking down the stairs.

"Go away!" Someone called from inside. "LACEY BROKE UP WITH ME AND I'M REALLY SAD SO DON'T BOTHER ME."

What the heck?

I turned right, and there he sat. Wearing shorts and a t-shirt, fully exposing his uneven legs, the right stopping a few inches above his knee, the left stopping mid calf, both prosthetics a dark, silvery grey. His left arm stopped mid forearm, his biomechanical hand, an unparalled feat of bioengineering and robotics. The skin grafts on the the left side of his face were barely visible, but the black eyepatch that he wore was very visible. It didn't help that he's had someone paint a skull and cross bones on it.

"What the heck are you doing here?" he asked and waved his glass of orange juice. "I'm sulking. Go away."

"Legion," I offered.

"I know who you are, idiot. Go away. I sulking."

"You have guests. And you're supposed to be in California." In Stanford. Working on his degree in biomechanical engineering.

"I what? I don't have guests. I never have guests. This is my house, of course I don't have guests."

I stepped aside, showing him everybody.

He groaned. "What did you tell them?"

"Nothing."

He groaned again, but hopped down from the stool at the counter and walked over. They kept staring.

"It's not very polite to stare at the handicapped, you know," he said. "Anyway, this is my house. You know Legion. Rule number one: no touching anything. Rule number two: Don't bother any of us while we're working. Rule number three: You will not cry, or whine, or laugh or giggle, or sneeze or barf. So no annoying sounds!"

We all just stared at him. He groaned. "Has nobody seen Despicable Me?" he tried again. "It's so fluffy I'm going to die!"

"You're a replica," Leota said slowly.

He grinned. "Wrong. I'm not a replica."

"But you look like Cassan Bray, but you can't be Cassan Bray." Wow, way to go Leota. There were quite a few faces of recognition. Secret identities are a secret for a reason. So they knew, and if they didn't, they would get their phones out soon and look me up on Wikipedia.

"Oh," he said, "you really don't know anything."

"You can't be Cassan Bray," Leota said and pointed at me, "because he's Cassan Bray."

"I'm Legion," I said.

"He's Legion," he agreed. "I'm going to tell you a story, so sit down. Yep, right where you are. I promise the floor is clean. Once upon a time," he said, pacing back and forth, "there was a boy with a mommy and daddy. The mommy and daddy were very important. Then something happened, one night. Something happened, and there was great destruction and an accident. The boy's mommy and daddy disappeared. But that same night, something happened to the boy. He was playing a game on his computer, headphones and all, and someone drugged him, used a chainsaw, and then set the house on fire. He started to burn. The Angel, the wonderful healer of Satellite, he was saving victims of the Bray Incident. By the time the firefighters dragged the boy out of the burning house, some things were lost that could not be replaced. But there was another boy. A boy who had been buying a Mountain Dew at a store while all this was happening. He was a creation himself, but he could create too. He was uninjured. That was Legion. The boy in the fire was me," Cassan Emeros Bray said.

"I'm a first generation," I said, "I can replicate, but the replicas can't replicate themselves. Cass is the real Legion."

"Wrong," he said. We disagreed on this subject. I thought that he was really Legion, and he was. He didn't think so. He'd only been Legion for a few short months at Satellite. "Legion is the one in the Protectorate, always has been. Castle Braylock, called Cas, dated a beautiful girl named Lacey until she broke up with him. Over text. That was just cruel. See, I can still create replicas, but tell me, what use are forty people with only one complete limb each?"

I'd secretly been adapting a suit for him, a real suit that could act as so much more than armour. He didn't believe that anything like that would ever work for him.

"Go away," Cass said. "My girlfriend, the beautiul Lacey, just broke up with me over text and now I'm sulking." He wandered off to the living room.

"You have five minutes to pack your belongings.  A bunch of others and I are leaving Protectorate in ten minutes."  This sounded good, being in a "superhero club" wasn't all that it cracked up to be.  As Aidan (Okay, "Shift") packed his stuff, I noticed him look at his suit, turn into a raccoon, and rip it to shreds.  When he was through, I handed him my suit to tear up.

"Thanks, waterbrain."  He said.  Well, at least he didn't attack me.

Leota~

"OK, let me get this straight," I said.  I pointed at the one with the prosthetics.  "Original Cass."  They both  nodded.  "He made a replica who can replicate, which is the Legion I know."

"And love."

"Shut up, Le.  So, Legion's a really early replica and he's now living his life as Legionthe superhero."

They both nodded.  "Well, then, I think we're both even on the whole secrets thing," I said, "Unless Cass #1 here is a replica, too, and there are more hiding around here."

"Or unless you're also descended from a vampire.

"Touché."

"So why are we here again?"  Danni asked.  Right.  There were other people in the room.  Legion looked as if he were just realizing this, too.

"Oh, we need to figure out what the Protectorate and Luminesce want with us."

"Sounds easy," I scoff.

"I think we should also return these files to the families of those in the files," Rin suggests, "Leota and I can be in charge of that."

"Sounds good," Legion says, "I'll be in charge of everything else."

"Why can't I be in charge of everything else?" I snap.

"Okay, guys, you really need to stop going off in your own little world together," Cass #1 says.

I blush.  "He can be in charge."

Can someone please explain what's happening? And why someone said Leota loves Legion?

submitted by ~Sam~
(August 20, 2012 - 6:29 pm)

Hm... well, basically, the Protectorate can't be trusted. Meridan is a big question mark, her boss (unknown identity) can't be trusted, and Dale read something in his file that explained that everything was a test, to find out more about their powers. Trying to figure out how they worked. So they'd been tested, (Legion and Leota far more, because they've been there longer) and then Meridan made them forget about the tests.

Rin is trying to be neutral between everybody else and the Society, a group of superpowered humans mostly made up of Descendants, who believe that all superpowered humans shouldn't have anything to do with humans.

There are two known types of superpowered humans. There's the Descendant category. They're descended from a variety of different creatures, spirits, ghosts, etc. Their powers are almost always predictable, whatever their parents and ancestors had, that's almost always what they'll have. Whatever ancestor they have, the first generation's powers are almost always quite a bit weaker then the original, but it mostly stays pretty strong for every generation onwards, and can sometimes even increase. The other known type of superpowered human are the Superhumans. Superhumans are, as far as we know, randomly appear in the normal human population. Their powers are totally unpredicatable and there doesn't seem to be any noticeable pattern or factor that contributes to what powers they have.

_____________

Now Legion has decided that he's getting everybody away from the Protectorate, Rin and Leota stole the Z files, Legion's taken them to his underground base house thingy that the Protectorate doesn't know about.

The real Cassan Bray was there, the original. All replicas of Cassan are able to replicate themselves, but the second generation replicas can't replicate themselves. Legion is a first gen. He was the only replica at the time that Cassan's house burned down, with him inside. Hence, the partially missing limbs, damaged eye, and skin grafts.

Legion was teasing Leota.
