Got the COVID vaccine!
I just got my first shot!! Has anyone else gotten the vaccine, or is planning on it? It only just got approved for 12-15 year olds (the pfizer one).
My arm is not that sore, but who knows, maybe it will get more sore soon...
It feels good to feel like there might be an end to this whole mask, six-feet-apart and quarantine thing!!!!

I'm getting mine on the 23rd! I wish it was earlier but that way I can do it with WordSong, whose birthday is on the 20th. Two of my best friends got theirs yesterday and they were pretty sore and tired today but very happy that they got it :)

Good for all of you! I'm old enough to get it and I want to get it but I talked to my parents tonight and they said that they don't like the Pfzier vaccine so I guess I'm not getting it. :(

Can I ask why your parents don't like the Pfizer vaccine? From what I've heard, every reputable source thinks that it's good and healthy and you should get it if you can.
(I got my first shot! It actually hurt less than a flu shot.)

I got mine just earlier today! I'm excited because everyone else in my family was vaccinated but I wasn't old enough, but now we can all be vaccinated. I hate shots but it was worth it.

I'm 16 and my state allowed 16+ to be vaccinated pretty early, so I've gotten both shots and have passed the 2 week immunization window, so I'm fully vaccinated now (yay!). I got the Pfizer vaccine, by the way.
Neither shot was bad for me. The first one I got about 10 am on Easter Sunday and I was really tired starting about 20 mins afterwards. I only made it until about 7 pm before I finally caved and went to bed (because my family was celebrating until 6:30, haha) and then I slept for 12 hours straight. My arm was a little sore, but nothing worse than a flu shot.
My second shot I got about 3 weeks ago. I felt fine the whole day but woke up the next morning with a headache, but I just took some painkillers and it went away easily. I only think the headache was a side effect because one of my friends also got a headache the day after the vaccine.
Overall I'd definitely recommend getting vaccinated if you're in the right age group! There's such a peace of mind that comes from being fully vaccinated and immunized. I haven't heard of anyone who had bad side effects and I even know people who were part of the initial test group back in late 2020 who didn't have side effects either. Obviously, you all know your medical histories better than I do, but if you're on the fence about it, I'd recommend talking to people you know have gotten it and doing research on reputable sites such as the CDC and NPR! You're welcome to ask me about my experience or side effects and I'd be happy to answer anything. I am just one person in a whole slew of people who have gotten vaccinated, so I'm not the ultimate authority or anything, but I'd be happy to ease any fears or questions you might have. :)

Getting my vaccine in a few hours! Super excited! I was going to get it at CVS pharmacy at Target, but then they didn't have pfizer, so now I have to do it a Walgreens.

I'm getting my first shot in two hours! A bunch of others in my class have already gotten theirs -- we will probbaly all have our first in, like, a week. The vaccinations have been going so quickly!

I just got mine a few hours ago! It felt more like someone was poking me than a shot. I haven't really felt any side effects yet.

My mom just scheduled mine! I’m nervous, but not because I don’t want the vaccine, I just don’t like shots :P but everyone I’ve talked to has said it’s not bad at all, and that seems to be the consensus here too, so I’ll just suck it up XD Congrats to everyone who already has it! I got my first one yesterday!! My arm is pretty sore, but that's only side effect I've had! A friend of mine got it at the same time as me, and she had a mild headache. I'm super excited that I'll be fully vaccinated soon!
