CBer Student Lounge!

CBer Student Lounge!

Hey guys! With school starting, I thought I'd create this place to take a break from homework and talk about school! Here you can compare classes, post notes, get help on different subjects, share essays, rant about online school, and procrastinate your schoolwork.

What classes are you guys taking this year? I'm going into 10th grade, which is insane! I'm also taking my first AP, which is kind of nervewracking. My school started last week, and we are doing full time zoom calls :(. Here are my classes:

- AP Art History

- Mandarin II

- Humanities II

- Honors Chemistry

- Advanced Algebra

- Product Design

- Fashion Design

- Spiritual Exploration

I hope some of you guys have the same classes so we can study together! Hope to see you in the lounge!

I went to an open house for a school I might go to yesterday. I really want to reunite with some of my old friends at a different school, but the other school I fell in love with. Can I have some advice on which school to go to?

I'd recommend going to the school you fell in love with. The school you go to is really important, both short-term and long-term, and in my opinion, it's always best if you love going to your school. You can still keep in touch with your friends! Though also as you grow, sometimes friends grow apart (it's sad, but true, and not anybody's fault :( ), soo... idk, maybe something to keep in mind. :/

sorry, I'm tired rn, so this isn't the best advice.

Thank you! This helped me more understand that I might need to grow apart from my old friends and try to make new ones :)

I found a stick that looks like a sword, so I charged into the history classroom, pointed the stick/sword at the very surprised history teacher, and shouted "I challenge you to a duel!"

the history teacher stood up from his chair, set down his book, and started fighting me with a sledgehammer that he now mysteriously was holding.

the stick/sword is still in the history classroom

Here I am with another story about my school. Crazy things here happen all to often that I think I should try a talk show or something some time in the future.

There's this one student in my class who is always sleepy. Like, always. Even though drowsiness is a trait all high schools students share, this kid takes it to a whole other level. They can sleep through the entire day and not wake up, not even for recess and breaks or even the lunchtime bell to the point that everyone refers to them as 'that kid who's gonna go to Harvard' because they probably wouldn't even feel jet lag should they get there. And then we have this really annoying english teacher who likes to get under everyone's skin in the sense that she keeps nitpicking every. single. aspect. of our behavior that does not appeal to her ideals of the correct conduct of student behavior. You can probably guess what happens next.

Or maybe not. See for yourself. We were having a normal english class and then suddenly our edgy english teacher just erupts out of the blue because the Harvard kid had been sleeping all the time she had been speaking. How disrespectful! How intolerable! And, as is to be expected of her, she goes on a furious rant about the state of us students these days and stuff like that. Meanwhile the Harvard kid is still sleeping. Eventually the teacher just hurls the chalk in her hand in their direction while demading them to just wake up in a ldoud voice because she apparently can't find any satisfaction in ranting at a person who is dead asleep (lol).

And then the Harvard kid wakes up! And then the first thing they do is raise their right arm that had been covering their face to see who is causing all the commotion, and in doing so somehow manages to catch the stick of chalk between their fingers. (Insert Quicksilver's theme here) We were all astounded and instantly regretted the fact that we would never be able to see the day's security camera footage because we were students without clearence to acess the school security system.

Back to track. After that amazing scene, we were granted a stream of furious ranting free of charge courtesy of our teacher who also does not tolerate students being the ultimate defenition of cool in the classroom. The tension was really growing in the air after the Harvard kid woke up, because they obviously woke up on the wrong side of their desk. What started out as a one sided rant became a heated debate between the two. And that's when the Harvard kid decided that that was enough and hurled the chalk which they were still holding in their hand right at the teacher and narrowly missed her head. The chalk in question hit the blackboard point first and snapped in half, leaving an actual dent in the board itself.

It was days later until we learned that the Harvard kid had a hobby of throwing knives. They could obliterate a can of coke from ten meters away.

Moral of the story is attention bad teachers, do not pick on sleeping students. Or any students in question. You don't know who's going to Harvard in the future. Or who likes throwing knives in the present.

@Admin, is it okay to post a photo of me if my face is covered by a medieval helmet?

No, I'm sorry. No people.

Yes, I'm back! That's so cool that you have Mandarin. I have a Latin class that is really fun so far; after only a few weeks I can read a story about a merchant who borrowed money but refused to return it, but got convicted in the basilica (roman court) when the banker Caecilius could prove he owed money with a wax tablet. (Cambridge Latin Course volume 1). My teacher is really nice too.

I also have Algebra II, Astrodynamics (or orbital mechanics), Hebrew, and I'm also studying the piano and violin.

it's really funny, but there are so many repeated names among my classmates. just in one of my classes there are two Jacksons, two Kais, two Gabbys, and two Noahs. And then in all my classes in total, there are

-two Julians and one Julia, plus a Julie

-several Katharines

-three Finns (and two of them have that type of last name where it's two names joined together, so there's literally Finn X-Y and Finn A-B, and at first I thought they were the same person)

-two Thomases, and the funny thing is that they look exactly like each other, so I've only just started being able to tell them apart

-three Kais in all

-I've met two Elizabeths, one of whom is in my class

another funny thing is how different these people are even if they share names. One looks like a Renaissance French prince (by which I do not mean he looks handsome, thank you). He has longish, wavy brown hair, and a poetic air. He seems really grave and of a romantic temperament, and he literally referred the other day to "riddles three," which like how can you talk like you're out of a storybook?? Still, he's quite fun once you get to know him. Another boy (who has the same name) is rather heavyset, with curly brownish hair, glasses, and a sort of matter-of-fact, inquiring way of talking. As for another two name-sharers, one of them really irritates me - he has bushy, curly black hair and dark eyes and looks rather Byronic, with a dreamy/serious expression, and he seems to think he's dazzling and he is just not dazzling and even if he were his oily conceit would spoil it, and I just don't like him. The other one looks like such a sweet guy; he has glasses and an eager expression and he just seems really nice. He is always with this girl who also seems really enthusiastic and nice and sweet, and none of us know for certain, but we all suspect >:)

I have math finals :((

I just had the first 2 and I have the 3rd one tomorrow. I'm pretty upset that I missed a question but I know I should focus on the positive (no hw during those days!)
