Hey guys! With school starting, I thought I'd create this place to take a break from homework and talk about school! Here you can compare classes, post notes, get help on different subjects, share essays, rant about online school, and procrastinate your schoolwork.
What classes are you guys taking this year? I'm going into 10th grade, which is insane! I'm also taking my first AP, which is kind of nervewracking. My school started last week, and we are doing full time zoom calls :(. Here are my classes:
- AP Art History
- Mandarin II
- Humanities II
- Honors Chemistry
- Advanced Algebra
- Product Design
- Fashion Design
- Spiritual Exploration
I hope some of you guys have the same classes so we can study together! Hope to see you in the lounge!

Spiritual exploration is a required class at my school (we're a Christian school). Basically we learn about different religions and spiritual practices. It's actually pretty ineresting!
I hope you still enjoy your classes, even if they aren't that interesting! I used to be at a tiny private school too.

I’m going into *gasp* high school next year, and since I’m homeschooled, I don’t really know what we’ll be doing. However, right now I’m doing chemistry, world geography, pre-algebra, and whatever book I’m currently reading. ;) I also do select soccer and Suzuki violin.

I also do suzuki violin! I'm in book 9. I love it and I love playing violin. This year in school I'm going to be in 9th grade, so first year of highschool. I'm taking:
-Orchestra
-AP ancient world history
-Pre AP Biology
-Pre AP English
-Spanish 3
-Algebra 2
-Art
-PE

I'm kinda nervous this year because I'm starting a new school so I don't know a lot of people and I have a heavy course load. I'm also kinda worried about how online school will be. My school won't be in person till November. My school starts on Aug. 24. I'm super excited for orchestra and spanish!

Wow, that's a heavy workload for 9th grade! Going to a new school is always difficult. I moved to Hong Kong in 8th grade, and I didn't know anyone at my school! I actually like meeting my new classmates online because I can get to know them without the added stress of finding people to sit with, etc. Try to scope out people in your class that you like, so you can try to talk to them when you go in person. This is a great idea! I'm going into 10th grade, which should be interesting (I'm not actually sure if we're doing all virtual or not). My classes are:
-Honors English II
-Honors Pre-Calc
-Gym/Health (I'm pretty sure I'm taking Driver's Ed this year!!)
-Honors Bio w/ lab
-Honors Chem w/ lab
-APUSH
-Choir
-French II
I'm doubling up on Bio and Chem, which I'm kind of nervous for, but at least they aren't AP (I took AP Physics last year and it was a nightmare). I also wasn't going to do APUSH, buuut I forgot to email my counsellor and change to Honors, so I guess I'm doing it!

This year I am going into 8th grade and am taking:
-Algebra 1, or possibly something else, it's not entirely figured out yet
-Beur Tefilah
-Global Studies ll
-English Language arts 8
-Ivrit 8
-Shemos 8
-Melachim l
-Mitzvos 8
-Parsha 8
-Either physical science or engineering

Ooh, those classes sound interesting! Do you go to a Jewish school?
I recognize most of those (Beur Tefilah would be something about prayers, right? And Ivrit is Hebrew, and Mitzvos is... mitzvot... and Parsha is Torah portions?), but what are Shemos and Melachim?

Yes, I do go to a Jewish school. Shemos is Exodus in Hebrew. Within Shemos, there are the individual Parshios, and this year we are doing (I think) Bo, Bishalach, and Yisro, which is Yitzias Mityraim, or the Jews leaving Egypt. We read and then translate the text, then read various meforshim, or commentaries, in Hebrew, then translate them. Some teachers allow lots of arguing about which commentary is right and what the text is teaching us, and I'm hoping this year we get to do that A LOT xd. Melachim is the book of Kings. We read it in Hebrew and then translate it, and go into various amounts of detail depending on the teacher. Navi, which Melachim is part of, tends to be very gory, so...yay? Anyways, they are all very interesting and I can't wait for school to start and I'm bad at ending posts.

I'm one of the younger CBers so I'm going into 6th grade, which, in my school district, is the first middle school year :O In the begining of the month my school was planning on doing a hybrid schedule- splitting us into A and B groups and doing different days- but now they've planned on doing online school for the first 5 weeks. It sucks that I won't be able to walk into the school on my first day of middle school, but I guess I'll get used to it.
OKAY SO NOW THAT IT'S THE. BEGINING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR I'M GOING TO ACTUALLY HAVE TO DO LIKE THE P.E. STUFF AAAH
Yeah, when my school first shut down I didn't do any of the P.E. or Art or Library things but now I'll have to...
I don't know where this is going.
