CBer Student Lounge!
Hey guys! With school starting, I thought I'd create this place to take a break from homework and talk about school! Here you can compare classes, post notes, get help on different subjects, share essays, rant about online school, and procrastinate your schoolwork.
What classes are you guys taking this year? I'm going into 10th grade, which is insane! I'm also taking my first AP, which is kind of nervewracking. My school started last week, and we are doing full time zoom calls :(. Here are my classes:
- AP Art History
- Mandarin II
- Humanities II
- Honors Chemistry
- Advanced Algebra
- Product Design
- Fashion Design
- Spiritual Exploration
I hope some of you guys have the same classes so we can study together! Hope to see you in the lounge!

Cool! I'll be 13 in November.
(August 26, 2020 - 1:54 pm)
Okay, so this is very interesting and new for me. If all goes as planned, I'm actually going to be "going" to public school for the first time in my life. I'm not quite sure how it will go. I'm a little excited to be honest, because it will be a new and hopefully refreshing change for this year. I will be doing it entirely online, but the material and the structure will be pretty different than what I'm used to. AND I WILL BE TAKING ART CLASS. YASSSS. My middle-high school art class has mostly been illustration contests for writing class, the CB, and YouTube, so I'm pretty excited about that.
As far as I know at this point, these are my subjects: (I'm in 10th grade this year)
English
Geometry
Chemistry
AP World History
PE
Spanish II
Studio Art
I was hoping to take Chinese or ASL, but those didn't work out. Oh well.

That's really cool! I was going to do AP world, but I'm taking AP Art History instead. That's so cool that your school has ASL! I'm trying to learn.

Does anbody have special back-to-school traditions? My brother and I always get to pick what we have for dinner, no matter how crazy it is, on our first days.
(September 1, 2020 - 10:53 am)
That sounds cool! Ever since I was little, my mom used to number toilet paper rolls and set them up in order (7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, First Day!) leading up to the first day of school. She would put clues inside the rolls that led to little back-to-school gifts, and cover the day with an apple. It's a cute little tradition we did every year!

Aw, that's cute, I like that! I don't know if this counts, but I've always have a peanut butter sandwich for lunch on the first day of school since 1st grade. I like having something subtle to connect them. Also, I think first days should be just like peanut butter sandwiches: simple, healthy, stress free, and enjoyable.

You guys have such cool traditions!! QueenofWolves, I remember the Fletcher family (The Misadventures of the Family Fletcher) did the same dinner thing as you! That was one of my favorite books in elementary school.
My mom always brings us bubble tea in the car when she picks us up! I always get hot taro (soy) milk tea with no suger and boba, and my brother gets strawberry green tea with aloe and boba. :)

Hi everyone! I'm a little late, as I started 9th grade a few weeks ago, but here's my class schedule (I'm taking all Honors Classes):
Algebra 2
Biology
English 9
Intro to Engineering and Design
Spanish 4
AP NSL Government
Yoga and Stretching
It's defenitely crazy to start high school entirely on Zoom, but hopefully I'll get the hang of it and we'll be back in person for second semester. Honors Spanish is immersion, and that's defenitely scary haha. Government seems fun so far, though. Sadly I don't have a ton of classes with my friends, but at my school we get a completely different schedule for second semester, so maybe I'll have better luck then.
I'm hoping that if I get both my tech and P.E. credits out of the way this year, I'll have time to take more fun classes later on. This is such a fun thread <3

I started two weeks ago as a freshman in high school and I still feel like an 8th grader. My classes are:
-Logic
-Humanities 3
-Biology 2
-Art Foundations
-Latin 3
-Geometry
-Theology
-Yearbook
I'm glad to be back in school, though my Humanities teacher gives us a TON of homework.
My CAPCHA says mrzip. Mr. Zip? Is that a friend of hers?
(September 16, 2020 - 4:58 pm)
I'm late to this, but I'm going into 7th grade and my classes are:
English 7
World Geography 7
Integrated Science 7
Advanced Algebra 7
Italian 7
Art 7
Technology/Engineering 7
Physical Education 7
Health/FCS 7 (FCS stands for family/consumer sciences)
InfoTech 7 (basically keyboarding)
Drama 7
General Music 7
My school is a bit weird in which the only elective you get to choose is your music, and all electives are only for a semester. I'm also doing electives all online this year, because the school decided that only core classes are in person.

Hey y'all, we should keep this thread going, I think it could be a great place to talk about school and homework, and maybe lament the problems of online school, too.
This year I'm in tenth grade and I'm taking:
-Bake Shop (super fun, we get to bake lots of things)
-Mythology
-American Studies
-French 4
-Intro to Programming
-Chemistry
-Algebra 2/Trigonometry
(September 27, 2020 - 10:34 am)
Your schedule sounds so cool! Bake shop sounds so amazing. And Mythology??? I want to go to your school.

Yeah our school does English electives, you have to have two half-semester ones every year, but there's a lot of varity. My English for next semester is Poetry and Fiction, and next year I can take Science Fiction because Mythology was a prerequisite. And Bake Shop is awesome. I think we get to have it because we don't have a real Home Economics class or anything like that.

Heyo! School is okay right now. Ish. :/
I'm writing an argumentative essay about how fireworks should be banned for private use for my language arts class, but I'm struggling with the topic because at first my teacher said it was "too broad", so I changed it to fireworks should be banned for private use in California (cause ya know, wildfires). BUT California already has laws that only allow "safe and sane" fireworks, which I don't really have a problem with, so now I hardly care about my topic. And today I was going to ask her about making some changes to my topic, and when I started asking my question I was like "Ok so my claim is this" and then she told me all about what a claim should include, then walked away before I actually asked my question :( So now I'm totally lost as to what I should write my essay about. UgGgGhH.
Anywho. That was kind of a rant. Thanks to anyone who actually read it...
