Random Thoughts/Things?

I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

At the moment, I'm visiting friends who live in another state and last night we went to see a Shakespeare in the Park performance of Pericles and it was amazing!! I discovered that:

-there is absolutely nothing equivalent to hearing the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack playing through an outdoor speaker at dusk

-music in general sounds much better when you play it through an outdoor speaker, and you're in a sweeping expanse of soft grass and clover with trees providing a backdrop around you, and there are lots of other people around just talking or patting their dogs or playing with a ball, and you lie down on your picnic blanket and think how beautiful this moment is

-I can still hear bats! I've always been able to hear them, at least the kind that live in this area. The play was outdoors, and it was twilight, and it was the intermission, so I was just sitting on the picnic blanket listening to the music that was playing through the speakers. And then I heard these very high, sharp, thin sounds - they didn't last long, but there were a lot of them. I almost felt them in my ears instead of hearing them. It's hard to explain exactly how they sounded, but ultra-high (though not loud), thin, and annoying is the best I can come up with. And sure enough, the bats were starting to come out. It was fun hearing them, because everyone says bats are inaudible, so it feels special to hear something that you're not supposed to hear >:) (Of course, I think these are a particular species of bat that actually is known to be audible.) There's something so artistic about  bats flying through an evening sky while music plays. It's as if they're dancing to it.

Anyway, I had a wonderful time... It started in the evening, so the sun was setting and everything looked beautiful. The play was performed on this outdoor stage and there weren't any seats, so we just sat on picnic blankets and ate sandwiches and apricots and potato chips and chocolate-covered Matterhorn cookies. I had no idea what Pericles was about, so the plot was really interesting. (It has some dark/inappropriate-with-a-capital-I themes, though, so it's not really something you should go and read. Just a warning.) Despite the Themes, though, parts of it were super funny (and being Shakespeare, there weren't any inappropriate scenes.) Like when the characters sailed places, people came onto the stage carrying cardboard waves and ships and moved them up and down across the stage while bouncy music played. And there was one part where some pirates turn up, and instead of coming onto the stage the usual way, they ran out of the forest that was on one side of the park and then climbed the steps to get onto the stage. Everyone loved that part :) That was where the Pirates of the Caribbean music played. The music was really nice, in general; during the intermission, and before the play began, they played some bluegrass and folk songs, and during the play there would be little snatches of music, like when the characters danced or sang. And (SPOILER ALERT) the play has a happy ending!! It was so touching and beautiful at the end when Pericles' whole family is reunited.

It was lovely sitting there in the grass watching a play and eating supper... The play went on for ages, so it was completely dark by the time it finished. We got to see the entire sunset/dusk, which is always gorgeous. It was just really fun :)

a thought from a year ago:

with all due respect, your honor, maybe I'd be a little more complacent if I had a cold glass of chocolate milk

Wow it has been wayyyy too long since I vanished off the face of the CB again, so here's some random thoughts to begin with:

-I just worked out a massive logical loophole in the novel I'm working on! It's about reincarnation, and the past three days have been terribly painful for me because I couldn't find a way to stage a sensible conflict between the two leads in their first lives while staying true to their personalites and methods of thinking. But it finally came to me (after entire nights spent organizing details and giving up and reorganizing them because they don't fit with each other) only thirty minutes ago and now, the most glaring problem is patched up seamlessly into the plot. I have also come to a whole new understanding of the word 'Satisfying'.

-How many books of the 100 best books of the 21'st century have ya'll read? I've only just began Wolf Hall.

-I totally haven't forgot about my solo write! However, I don't really have time to write on the holidays, sorry for the pause. I'll try to pick things up again in September when school starts... Thanks for all the support.

Zeal hiii! It's great to see you again! How are things going with you? I'm glad you're progressing satisfactorily with your writing :)

I started scrolling through the list of the "100 Best Books of the 21st Century" and so far I haven't found a single one that I've read :/ I think they all seem to be in a particular style, which I don't really read. It's interesting to take a look at what the NY Times thinks are good books... What do you think of Wolf Hall so far?

So... my boyfriend wasn't able to come to church the other day. Here's the convo:

AA: Hey, so change of plans, I'm not gonna be able to come to church this Sunday maybe next Sunday, I'm so sorry I know you were lookin' forward to it *insert cryin' face emoji here*

Me: aw man *insert several cryin' face emoji's here* I hope I see you next week *insert a couple more cryin' face emoji's*

AA: I know, I'm a little sad about it.

So, he lives approx. 25 minutes from me and I guess he didn't know that at first 'cause he once asked me if he could bike to my house and I was like "I live in *insert where I live here*" and he's like "aw man, I was lookin' forward to bikin' there".

Is it also normal for me to feel like a weasel???? I gave B (AA's friend and my BFF R's brother) a note to give to AA askin' if he'd like to hang out this summer and we haven't hung out AT ALL outside of the one YG last month and I feel so so bad.

Oh, he also made me a Minecraft skin and it looks AMAZIN'!!!!!!

So I live in a place that doesn't get storms, not big storms (just snow or rain, but usually not that bad), but last week a hurricane went through us and today a tornado touched down in the neighbourhood where my mum works....
