I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

we will not talk about how i procrastinated my world history homework by digging for old cb censuses and making this graph. we will not.
the data's a bit skewed because this only includes the people who responded to the census and not necessarily the whole population at the time. but i still think it's pretty cool :)

That's so funny, and is also something I'd totally do too. Who need homework when you can spend your all of your... "free" time digging up obscure(?)/seemingly inconsequential data from the recesses, compiling said data in a lovely chart, and then graphing it!
On a side note, for some reason I hadn't realised there were people who collect cans? Like, as trophies, almost? In the same way people collect and appraise coins and vases and rugs (etc.), there are dedicated can-collectors who are basically professionals at information relating to old cans.

amazing! oddly enough i can kind of see myself as a can collector. i thought of collecting bottle tops a while back, but never actually did it properly.

whoaaaa! that is officially amazing. it's so cool to see how the population fluctuates! I can't believe there were so many people back in 2017.
and wait what why is the population currently at its lowest level in six years--

(although I'm pretty sure there are currently at least 60 CBers? I did a list of all the CBers I could think of, some months back, and I think it added up to about 60 or 70)

yeah the population does seem to be kind of decreasing (at least according to the censuses) but it makes sense, i think--there was a spike in 2020/2021 because of the pandemic, and then as we started going back to school, people became too busy, and now i know a lot of people are starting high school, so they're even less active... who knows.
@Sine, i just used Google Sheets :)
@Poinsettia, yeah there probably are around 60/70 CBers, but there was only 50 or so on the census. it had like 70 comments, but there were a lot of repeats so it only added up to like 50 different CBers. but yeah, there probably are a lot more CBers :D
we should do another census soon--i think i'll make one in January, maybe? unless someone else wants to make it ofc
