photography contest!
photography contest!
Pheasantwithbooks created a drawing contest, which made me nostalgic for this photography contest (which I believe was also created by pheasantwithbooks, i could be wrong though)
anyways, if you're new here, these are the rules-
~the judge gives out a theme each round and sets a deadline for the pictures to be in by
~the participants follow the theme and submit their pictures
~the judge ranks the pictures, sometimes giving them feedback
~whoever comes in 1st gets to be the next judge!
i'll be the first judge, and i'll start with a very generic theme, nature! pictures will be due on February 28th.
Have fun!
One more rule: ~no photos of people

San Francisco <3! It’s interesting how there are so many black and white pictures. Something about monochromatic cities are quite intriguing...

I think I might like this version better...

Judging's today, right?

Judging is, in fact, today! And I totally remembered that on my own because I am always punctual and naturally organized and that is just the kind of person I am! (Just kidding :D)
Fourth Place: Agent Winter. Although it was just a street corner, I liked the touch with the black and white, which looks extra cool because of the snow and the white car.
Third Place: Autumn Artist. Even though I wish I could see more city and less sky (*begins humming For Forever*) I found the dark skyscrapers against the cloudy gray sky very artistically appealing.
Second Place: Hermione Granger. Even though it made it a little disorienting to look at it, it was a very interesting effect, with all the shadows to create a range of sharp lines. It was so cool to look at, one sensational pattern layered over another.
Aaaand... now for first place which is totally a mystery...
Fidelity! The skyscraper skyline was satisfying to look at, and the proportions were equally so. The radiant blue sky makes the whole piece glow, and the birds flying by are a wonderful touch. Well done!

Yayyyy! Congrats everyone, especially Fidelity! I was going to enter, but being me, I kept forgetting. I can't wait for the next theme!

Fidelity hasn't been on here in a long time...
(March 26, 2019 - 8:19 pm)
Should we establish a time limit for how many days the winner has to pick a new theme, so that we don't have to wait a long time for the next one?
(March 27, 2019 - 2:32 pm)
I think that's a good idea.
(March 27, 2019 - 8:28 pm)
I think 4-5 days would be good.

Oh wow thank you Stardust ! I’m so sorry I took so long to respond! I promise I’m still alive (just busy!)
Next theme: Pictures with a story
A lot of people I know have taken a photo that has a good story behind it. One of my favorite photos is of a swan that always harassed my friend and I when we would sit on our dock. For this competition, submit a photo of something meaningful to you. It could be your favorite place, your pet, or an emotional moment. Feel free to explain the meaning behind the photo. Have fun! :)

This photo has a lot of emotional value for me because it made me realize that nature is beautiful, strong, and persistent. When I first visited Muir Woods for the first time in California, the sight was breathtaking! I had never imagined trees being so massive before.
