Sorry I haven't posted in so long. Most of you haven't read the books, so I am just going to tell you that at the opening ceremony the tributes ride with their district partner in a chariot drawn by I think two horses. The tributes wear costumes according to their district's principle industry like since my character's disrict's principle industry is fishing I said their costumes made them look like sea creatures. (To read exactly what I put, I think that post is on the previous page) Just so you know. Please don't let this RP die.

//Lina//

We reached the training center and entered on our chariots. After we were inside we were allowed to step off and I leapt down and walked to the elevator. Archer followed and I saw the District 2 and district 1 tributes come over to our elevator as well. An attendant ushered us in and pressed the button for the elevator to ascend. The Disrict 1 tributes got off at the first floor and the District 2 tributes at the second.

We went up two more floors and got off at the fourth. Another attendant took me to what would now be my room and I went inside. Once in I grabbed some clothes from the dresser and went into the bathroom. I undressed and set the shower settings. That bit was hard with the all the choices it gave you. I stepped inside and washed away all the makeup under the cool sheet of scented water.

I got out, dressed in the clothes, and went to the dining room. There I found my mentors, Poppy and Archer. I sat down and ate my fill of the delicious capitol food. After that I bid everyone good-night and went back to my room.

The next day is the first day of training where first they eat breakfast and their mentors tell them what their strategy is going to be. Then they are escorted back to the ground floor of the training center where they train until dinner. There is more detail and if you wish I can type that as well.

Just wanted to say that I won't be able to post much, so Mineva will have to be a sort of secondary character. Oh, and Clair S, could you take care of the parade stuff?

Sure, and I have this really great idea. So glad about it, because I was hoping I would get to any way.

I realize what just happened, and get up and sneak away. I lie down in my wrinkled clothing and I'm asleep almost instantly. I wake up to Pritz calling me and telling me, "Good day, good happenings!" I pull myself out of bed. I don't change, because it's the only part of my normal life I have left. I'm so in a daze, I barly eat. The train docks when I finish, and I'm vaguely aware of an Avox guiding me to the doors. Minerva and I get in a car and are rushed to meet our prep teams. A peppy capital girl, only a teen herself, takes me and tells me about how wonderful the costume is. She pulls me into a chair and two other people step out. They are all capital nitwits, buzzing around me, rebuilding me in a way. The teen remarks that she would date me if I weren't from the districts. They shove me into a dark room. All of a sudden, the lights are turned on, and a green woman is smiling at me. Her hair is green, her body too. She says, "So you're technology, so I'm thinking high-tech stuff!" She pulls out this normal enough looking suit, but she has a grin from ear to ear. She puts it on me, then seeing my confused look, begins to explain. "There are solar panels on your carriage, and they'll hook up to your outfit. It will melt down to this techno suit that changes colors." She looks at me to see what I think, but it's not as if I could refuse.

I nod and she giggles. She finishes up my makeup. She dusts me with silver powder. She takes a blue powder for my eyeshadow. She's busy admiring her work when she sees my necklace. "OHHH! Pretty!" She frowns, just like a kid getting a let-down Christmas present. "I'll have to change the color scheme but....." she trails off. She wipes off the blue powder and replaces it with a light green that matches the beads on my necklace. "Look at my robot!' She kisses my cheek and shoves me off to the preps for finishing touches. They chat about how much they love the games. The teen decides I'm perfect, and they guide me to the stables and scurry off to watch my entrance. My stylist Mellisa walks up behind me and nearlly scares me to death. The word death sends daggers up my spine, for I'm sure to face it soon. "You look fantastic! Let's hook you all up," she says as she attaches wires from the carriage to my vest buttons, "and Minerva will be here in just a second." Minerva and an older stylist walk up. She looks drop-dead (there's that word again) gorgeous. I can't help but stare as she passes by. Her hair is done up in two braids. They circle around her head and then fall back to her back. It's spray-painted gold, to complement my silver. I can't help but think back to my snap when I told every body she should win. She has a plain black dress on but I can tell it's like mine. Her body is dusted gold. She has copper eyeshadow and copper block shoes. She steps onto the carriage and flashes me a small nervous smile. Her stylist does what Mellisa did to me, and we're ready to go. A capitol worker holds up  5, 4, 3. 2, 1. The crowd screams as district 1 goes on. They stomp and shout and chant. I hear the whip crack and our horses trot out.  The crowd shows their disappointment, they expect more. Suddenly, my outfit gets hot. It starts disappearing into something that gives the illusion of us being robots. Next to me, it's happening to Minerva as well. She shines in both senses. The crowd is taken with her. She smiles and waves. She even plays it up and moves around stiffly, like she was a real robot.I smile and wave too, but to be honest, I really just have eyes for her. All the other districts parade by, and the few that stick out are district 4's girl. She has a dress that is like an ocean. It billows around her. District 1 looks especially fierce this year. The poor girl from 6 is wearing what I can only assume is supposed to be a pill. Poor girl. We circle back to the Training Center. The cameras are supposed to spend an equal amount of time on the girl and boy tribute, but in reality, the cameras are glued to Minerva. Actully, I'm fine with this, because every time my mom sees me, it will break her poor little heart. Pritz walks up to us, a grin split  across his face. Mellisa and the other stylist enfold us in the biggest hug. Sally hugs us in a motherly way. Christopher slaps me on the back. Then he kisses Minerva. It is meant in a brother sort of way, but I can't help feeling jealous. The prep teams bounce in and jitter-jabber about everything and nothing, it's hard to tell. We walk up to the training center. The preps leave, and the rest of us board the elevator. Minerva and I stare at each other and come to a silent conclusion. We're having a contest for who can hit the button first. We push and shove each other out of the way, but Minerva gets to it first. Pritz and the stylists gawk in horror at us. We fall to the floor laughing as the elavator rises up the floors.

Just so you know, the italics are for what Sarah K. has to share.

The elavator stopped. The horrified Pritz and stylists step out first. I'm guided to my room. I change out of the costume into warm pajamas. I pull back the silk bed and close my eyes. Most of my sleep is haunted, and I toss and turn all night long. I see past Games, my father dying, my mother's face. It's a relief to wake up.

Pritz informs me that it's a "good day with good happenings". I get out of the silky covers. I go to the bathroom and get in the shower. I don't know what to do. There's a million tiny buttons, a few levers, and a control screen. Back home I took showers, cold ones albeit, but it's better than some of the other districts. I see a button with the word "SHOWER" and I eagerly press it.

A warm stream of water shoots out. I hit Hot on the panel. It feels so goooooood. I lounged about a bit, then cleaned my hair.  I step out and hit Done. The water disappears with a hiss. I take a furry towel of the rack. I dry myself off, then look around for a comb. I open drawers, look in crannies, but I can't find a comb anywhere. Now normally I don't care about appearance. But good looks can help win sponsers. I go into the bedroom and see my bed is made and my training outfit is lying on my bed. I also see a slip of paper. I pick it up and open it. Christopher has written that he doesn't want me to go to breakfast, and he'll bring food up in a minute. Sally has also written something. It's a number. 109. I realize it's the number of people she's seen die from our district. Next she has written something that puzzles me. SPECAIL>LIFE. I have no idea what it means. I plop down on the bed and wait for them to come.

I am very sorry I haven't posted. Thanks for posting, Claire S. I have a lot of summer plans but most of them are here at home. I am going to mow the lawn and from that I earn a few dollars with which I am going to buy snowcones and go to movies. And then I am going to have volleyball parties and possibly dinners and I might go to Austin. How about you?

Will post tomorrow.

OMG!! From June 18 to July 9, I'll be in Austin, Texas with my best friends. That would be soooo awesome to see you. But also slightly mystical, is this fate-like. Thank you to for posting, cause I always love to read the stories and learn more about the characters. The rest of the summer will be spent house-hunting and packing up things into moving vans. I AM MOVING!!!  My house is on the market, and that cute FOR SALE sign is hanging. Have a great summer everyone.  how do people get their location so long? I can only type 20 letters.!!!GRRR

I woke up to Poppy knocking on the door telling me to come to breakfast. I got up and dressed in the clothes at the foot of my bed; a light blue tunic and and dark blue leggings. I brushed my teeth and hair and went to the dining room.

Archer and our mentors were already there. They were sitting at the table with plates of food. I saw on the other side of the room a buffet. I walked over and took a plate. I filled it with familiar fruits and things called waffles that I had had once or twice when somebody from our district won which I drizzled with a wonderful sweet syrup from trees much farther north then District 4. I took a cup of steaming hot chocolate and went to sit down at the dining table. I ate quickly and so did the rest of them.

When we were fininshed, one of them (I don't know their names beside Mags) said, "So would you like to be mentored together or separately?" "Separately," Archer and I said together. "Well then, you Lina will be with me and Archer, you will be with (Name)," said the man. (Anybody know any good names for District?) I got up and followed the man into another room. We sat down and spent a half hour discussing strategies.

At 9:55 we got up and went back to the dining room where Poppy took Archer and me to the training center on the ground floor. When we got there I saw that most of the tributes were already there. The rest came in a few minutes.

A woman came and said to all the tributes, "Here we have what you need to survive in the arena, from weapon use to tying knots. There are experts at each station and people with whom you can practice wrestling, swordplay, et cetera, et cetera. No fighting with your fellow tributes. You can start.

I went first to the knives. The expert showed me how to throw it and I practiced for awhile.
