writing advice?

Ok so I'm writing a fantasy short story, and one of my scenes (it's not a major event in the story but I'm a perfectionist) is like a domestic/family scene. I don't usually write this kind of scenario, in most of my ideas parents play very little role. But I feel like it's kind of essential for this particular story, and it also keeps the general idea from being too much of a cliché.

Apocolypse RP

Plot: 100 years in the future, there's no electricity, barely any food, and the virus wiped out humanity! ...almost. It's up to our OCs, who apparently survived due to Cricket Mag logic, to rebuild humanity! 

Rules:    1) You can't make your OC start with someone. They have to find the other OCs. Except if                    they're sibilings.

2) You can't make your OCs have a huge amount of alive sibilings. Preferably one or two.

3) No overpowered OCs.

I have Writers Block!

I really want to make another book but I have no idea what to write about. I was wondering if you guys have any ideas.

Poet's Block

I wasn't going to do this, and I don't want to, like at all, but I don't know what else to do.

I've been battling it for months. I'd gotten it to the point where I have ideas, or one or two, but the poem doesn't come. The rhymes and rhythms don't. The words don't.

Jess was having a bad day. Yes, that was a good way to describe it: a bad day. Moving day was a bad day. Getting grounded was a bad day. But other than that time that her cell phone got taken away, she couldn't remember a worse day

You see, Jess was going on this thing called a road trip. It was when you and your noisy family crowded into a smelly car. For a week.
